          jasper nodded, trying his best to empathise with the younger, to remember how he used to feel. ‘ why not ? i know things seem dark right now, but it won’t always be like this. ’ he wanted to help her feel better, or even just less alone. but he couldn’t fully understand what she was going through, or what exactly she was feeling. all he could do was listen and hope it made some kind of impact.
