hey so i read abt intrusive thoughts on the internet, i've never really cared abt them before, but reading about them on the internet actually gave my brain the thoughts... like... now i literally have them abt everything. fuck the internet honestly. but anw, any idea how to not think abt them? ik they're absolutely meaningless but they keep popping into my mind it's so annoying and distracting (not considering therapy bcs this is a very recent thing, just this week)

hey, i'm not a mental health professional so take this advice with caution and if this doesn't get better or impacts your daily life please consider seeking some help, since you said you wouldn't consider therapy at the moment but maybe talking to a counselor or have a one time session with a mental health professional can help you clear up those thoughts.

from my experience sometimes it's okay to just... let them be, i guess. accept them as intrusive thoughts, know you can't do a lot against them in the moment and they will pass. if they keep distracting you maybe try something to distract you from them and keep your mind occupied with something else (music always helps me but if that doesn't work for you try to find something else).

please take care of yourself and i hope whatever you decide to do, it works out for you and helps. if you need someone to talk to or just want to vent, feel free to message me (i also have discord available).
