the digital watch built into the wrist states five-thirty in the morning. soon after the long stare, he drops his head back to bump the brick wall. these graveyard shifts are becoming a nuisance. the coast is clear in all sector yet one and even then he found only minute crimes that could easily put down. terry craves for a real fight, something to get his blood running and his heart pounding. alas, thereâs no blood running or quickened heart rate. in fact his vitals seem relative normal.
âMaybe Commissioner Gordon is right, thereâs always a time and place for the Batman.â
terry hates to admit that sheâs right. much like bruce, he didnât care for her warnings and arrest threats; although she has a point. terry only figured he would live long like the old man. for the batman was apart of him as it is to bruce, tearing away from it would be like ripping a limb off.
âStick to it,â he mutters to himself.
thereâs always hope for the wickedâ
suddenly, Â batman pivots quickly to face the left side. he feels someone watching him like prey. his eyes dilate, his heart picks up pace and he could feel the blood coursing through his body. he comes to find that an empty space.
âGet it together.â
No strongholds to take over, no children to be liberated, her missions these days were rather vague and free form, which Jacob must have reveled in. But not Evie. No, she loved the strange type of order the Brotherhood provided her with, and she loved to plan accordingly. And while she could plan now, it just wasnât quite the same. What even were her plans really? Investigate the city for a few hours. Again. Try to find something, anything new.Â
God, she even missed the Rooks. Imagine that, she missed being a gangleader. At least it was something. Nowadays she was lucky if her night involved a simple theft. And although that was certainly useful and in line with her creed, it too felt directionless.Â
She sighed, deciding to give this area one more look over from her perch on a rooftop. Nothing, more nothing, even more- no, close by, on the ground below... she saw a figure, who was certainly not a civilian. Well, it was likely that they wouldnât be able to aid her in her investigations, but this could certainly be interesting. Evie moved to cover, just before the figure turned around. Hm, she still had the element of surprise for the most part.Â
Aiming her rope launcher accordingly, she glided down and landed gracefully in front of the other.Â
âGood morning,â she said, now taking a closer look, âIâm almost certain youâre supposed to be nocturnal, though... Perhaps itâs good night then?âÂ
