The Patacon Burger is a delicious twist on the classic burger, using ripe plantains instead of buns. It's a flavorful combination of sweet and savory, with a crispy plantain exterior and juicy beef patty inside.
Ingredients: 4 ripe plantains. 1 pound ground beef. 1 onion, finely chopped. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon cumin. 1 teaspoon paprika. Salt and pepper to taste. 4 slices of cheese. Lettuce leaves. Tomato slices. Mayonnaise. Ketchup.
Instructions: Peel the plantains and cut them into thick slices. Heat oil in a pan and fry the plantain slices until they are golden brown. Remove and flatten them with a plate or spatula. In a separate pan, cook the ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic until browned. Season with cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Place a slice of cheese on each plantain patty and melt it under the broiler or in a hot oven. Assemble the Patacon Burger by placing a plantain patty with melted cheese on the bottom, add lettuce leaves, tomato slices, and a spoonful of mayonnaise and ketchup. Top with another plantain patty. Serve hot and enjoy your Patacon Burger!
