Borros is an ancient name that dates prior to recorded history, but it is known they descend from Syggaâs very first Archivists and Librarians. All Borros families and their branches lived on a series of stagnant floating islands that hover over the mainland, the cluster named after their worshipped idol: Vertas. For thousands of years, the Borros Family made a living off their stored information and their Seals, agriculture, common trade, and high-priced rare products sold throughout Sygga. It was their neutrality and peace-keeping ways that led their downfall and eventual near-demise; fear forced them to abandon their ancestral homeland and escape to Lyserias.
âThe First Master: Lucca Borrosâ.
Lucca MorâTear Borros, was the first recorded Head of The House. He is responsible for the introduction of the practiced traditions and ceremonies, real-time recording of all movements throughout the family, and the order of the hierarchy. He married Renwreth Reverie as a political means for an heir, social growth, and economic prosperity. In marrying Renwreth, she also introduced gender equality into succession processes and a new version of household and territory security.
The couple ruled for exactly 900 years until their untimely demise at the hands of their eldest daughter, Leilani, who heavily disagreed with their strict rules.
âMartyr of Treason: Leilani Borrosâ
Leilani Meris Borros held title Head of House for only ten years and was unable to to make substantial changes before her youngest sister managed to convince the rest of the Higher Court Memebers to dismiss Leilani of her position.
Per familial law, Leilani was disemboweled on her thirtieth birthday. Her death introduced a newer form of succession: disembowelment of the prior Head of The House once succession was complete and their campaign was accepted by all family members of the Higher Court.
âThe Heir Apparent: Lainey Borrosâ
Lainey Costic Borros held and maintained Head of the Household for around the same time period as her parents while upholding the laws and rules set prior to her succession. She married Elio Halden at nineteen, forever being known as the youngest marriage in the Borros family. Marrying Elio introduced new medicines and reintroduced traditional remedies to the territory. They are also responsible for unintentionally introducing the tradition of naming their children with the same beginning letter.
Together, they had five children, training their second eldest to be their heir. Both were disemboweled on Laineyâs birthday.
âOur Sonder Soul: Mavis Borrosâ
Mavis Maggie Borros had the hardest time gaining succession, but through hard work she managed to hold the title for well over five hundred years. She is responsible for expanding on her parents medical care and made substantial contributions and progress to it. Within her time, Mavis was able to also greatly expand the Borrosâs influence and finances through trade, educational programs, better job opportunities for the unrelated people on Vertas, and introduced the benefits of alchemy, astro-sciences, and animal health programs. Mavis married very last minute to Florence Goldrick, it being one of few Borros marriages that were not political.
Through biological engineering , the two were able to have six children, Mavis and Florence carrying three each. Together they selected their first born as their heir.
âThe Courtâs Mystery: Venera Borrosâ
Venera Bennio Borros was the first known Borros to not want the title, and because of that, made no changes or expansions for the family. There are no known portraits of her and very little information on her ruling. It is known that her guilt and grief over having to complete her succession process had controlled lots of her life, and in response, created the custom of carving statues of all Heads of the House in an attempt to soothe her own guilt. It wasnât long before she quietly selected her brother to replace her before fleeing. She did not marry, and bore no children.
âA Fleeting Bird: Varys Borrosâ
Like his sister, Varys Thatcher Borros, did not want to succeed the title â but unlike his sister, introduced a new housing style to the commonwealth and introduced new learning programs and hired out teachers from different territories to further educate the territory. Information on Varys is not lacking but kept in the office the Head of the House remains in. He is also the first Borros to face threats from outside forces, and in response, introduced a new form of communication due to his anxieties, only allowing the strictly selected Carrier to speak with him. During his time, Varys also had to select new placeholders for the Higher Court.
He married later on his life to Thalia Wenzer, having two children together. He selected his eldest as his heir but (with her agreement) took Thaliaâs and his own life a day before their son completed his succession ceremony.
âThe Catharic Successor: Dove Borrosâ
Dove Maelis Borros faced heavy threats from outside forces, including three of Syggaâs most prominent and powerful rulers. Vrada was the first to attempt an attack when Dove did not respond to letters, but the territory was untouchable due to the barriers put up by the Seal users. Two more attempts were made until Dove used his Seal to recite the future to Vrada, telling an event of their loss. Vrada caved, eventually leaving Vertas alone. Dove was able to revive their trades, and introduced a secret military service, and it was during these introductionary periods that he married Marley Campbell as a means to better Vertasâs private combatant status. Together, the couple formed a secret service that prioritized the protection of the Higher Courts and the titular holders of Vertas and discretely deployed armed forces to their territory boarders.
Together, Dove and Marley had six sets of twins, the couple choosing their eldest daughter as their successor.
âShe Who Waned: Cirilla Borrosâ
Cirilla Borros was content with her position, as both her parents had taken a fresher route and raised her into the position. She is responsible for introducing a higher education and teaching styles to their education programs and selecting newer staff. She is also responsible for introducing newer vegetables and fruits from far-off Syggian territories that ended up having a greater addition to their trades. During this time and throughout her childhood, she was exchanging time with Lazareth Reign who eventually showed to her her mate.
After talks with the Higher Court, she ended up abandoning her position and name (per the familyâs orders) to become Queen alongside her mate. She bore one child with her mate, one that was not relevant to the Borros name.
âThe Final Head: Kalaestis Borros
Kalaestis Borros did not rule for a long period of time due to extensive attacks from Vrada. There is no known information on his ruling, and his whereabouts after forcing his brother to escape with the remaining Borros name-holders to Lyserias in an attempt to maintain their lineage.
Kalaestis married at some point during his ruling to a nameless but powerful woman, having two daughters who escaped with his twin brother.
