THE WARDEN OF STRAYS.

Deity of : the alone, the dying, the rebirth. 

Associated with : stray animals, outcasts in general. forest fires, hiding places. humane traps. battlefields. forgiveness. 

Sacred Plants : anything considered a weed, fungi (yes i know), yew.

Sacred Stones / Gems : coal. fossils. petrified bone.

Sacred Animals : cats + dogs, any hybrid of domesticated + wild animals (e.g. coydogs), rock doves/pigeons, cockroaches. scavengers in general. the phoenix, too.

Colors : red/maroon, pale gold, ivory, navy.

Food : mushrooms (edible or not), fruit with pits, seeds, rotting meat.

Scents : smoke, rain, ozone. the smell of a cold, bright morning.

Accepted Offerings / Ways to Honor : laying animal remains to rest + offerings at the remains of stray animals (to ensure their safe passage), usually food and coins and pet toys if you have them. sowing seeds for every plant that you uproot - or otherwise making sure that cycles of life and death, remembering and forgetting, etc. keep going. doesn’t have traditional worshippers or temples; doesn’t want them. (his church is in every cardboard box, in every stone-filled sack, in every lonely gutter).

Ways to Offend / Earn their Wrath : mistreatment of the animals he watches over. killing for sport, purposefully causing forest fires, any other way of interfering in the natural cycle. despite his own state as a human, he frowns upon people meddling with mortality in ways that he deems “unnatural” - whether with immortality, or resurrection.
