From concept to costume! I’ve been working on this costume for a couple of months now! Here is the initial drawing, and the final look - photography by Lisa Curtis (seriously, click that link, you wanna see her whole set and everyone else’s costumes!)

:D This is for my first ever Live Action Role Play event last weekend, Empire LRP! There were over 1000 people there, and everyone looked amazing. Wandering round the camp after dark is just indescribable. For most of the time, there isn’t a modern thing to be seen, and the atmosphere really has to be experienced to be understood.

On the first night, the moon was casting light over everything, the stars were clear, and you could hear the sound of singing drifiting over the tents. The smell of woodsmoke was in the air, and people were gathered around flickering campfires, dotted around hundreds of tents which were glowing with light from within. I spent half an hour just walking through it in costume, light held aloft to show the path, soaking it all in!

Had the pleasure of running with The North a few weeks ago. Had a great time with lighter armour and running around. Being a Viking is fantastic, even if I was a tad too fancy. Can’t do leg wraps for shit though.
