I just learned yesterday that Pikachu, my favorite Pokemon, was originally designed not by Ken Sugimori (he only finalized the design), but by a female graphic designer named Atsuko Nishida.Â
Also after googling her, I found out that sheâs also designed Sylveonâanother favorite PKMN of mine. Sheâs also illustrated some very pretty Pokemon cards!!
Thank you Ms. Nishida! :-) May you get more credit and love for your contribution to the Pokemon franchise.

please please please get a shower chair if you struggle with standing in the shower or getting up from sitting on the bathtub floor. it is so worth it. they are relatively cheap and you can get them from walmart, amazon, etc. if you take my advice on anything let it be this. get a shower chair!!!! (you also donât need any tools to put them together, I was able to put the one together that I got for my uncle when he was first diagnosed with cancer without any trouble! and Iâm not good at putting things together like that usually).
Get the shower chair even if you donât struggle with these things. Itâs been a wonderful aid since I have physically needed it, but I also wish to God Iâd have the sense to buy one years ago. The ability to just sit there and breathe the steam is such a beautiful thing.
If youâre hung up on how it looks, there are plenty of very aesthetic ones out there. Iâve got a lovely bamboo one and I would fight anyone who tried to take it away from me.
