⸝ THE WOMAN LOOKED UP AND DOWN, TAXING THE SLIGHTLY WOBBLING MALE IN FRONT OF HER. He reeked horribly, to the point where she could almost taste his smell. It was revolting and yet⌠somehow made her curious. He didnât just smell of the litres of alcohol he poured into himself that evening, nor was it his sweat that was still visible on his neck. It wasnât even that unpleasant stench of not taking a shower within the last day that got to her. She could feel power coming from him and it was⌠chaotic. Horrible, not like hers, not natural. She wanted to ask him about it but couldnât. Not when they were standing over a corpse that was very obviously missing a liver. The exotic dancer was being interrogated. âGet it in your damn head, you wannabe Detective Conan, that it wasnât me. You saw me dancing on that stage all evening!â
âMebbies... but ye got tae admit -- it doesnât look good for ye.â Heâs not doubting her, not more than he would doubt Dante in a similar situation, but the corpse was still there and every clue pointed towards her. The alibi she had wouldnât really check out as the only people who could confirm it were the drunk perverts watching her show and her employer who needed her to keep the steady income and thus was less credible of a witness. âItâs not gonna check out with the hunters, a gumiho who works in the nearby club abstains from eating liver? Rather uncanny if ye ask me. And the more ye are on the offensive, the more delighted theyâd be tae bring ye down, bird,â he leaned against the wall, trying to make it look casual but the truth was that his head was spinning. He didnât have an alcohol poisoning for a while, the only explanation why it was hitting him this hard right now could be the putrid smell of the carrion. It attacked his nose, filled his mouth and wouldnât go away. âSo weâd suggest making a checklist ovv people who want ye gone.â
