Baran and Yolanda were having an enjoyable evening with Trinity cuddled in between them, napping peacefully. Baran vaguely remembered the forecast calling for rain, but highly debated it was true until the light pitter patter of raindrops drizzled against the window.

"Looks like weather channel's right after all." Yolanda whistles, glancing up from her phone as the storm slowly gets louder. Baran smiles and gently rubs Trinity's back. "Hope she stays asleep before any-"

A loud clap of thunder sounds, shaking the house.

Trinity's eyes snap open in a panic. Thunder didn't usually bother her if she was already asleep, but this one was loud enough to disturb her.

"W-w-" She whimpers, not being able to voice her fear before another clap, this time accompanied by lightning, freaks her out more. She jumps up, climbing over Baran and jumping under the bed.

"Aw, azizam." Baran croons and puts her kindle to the side. "It's not gonna hurt you, it's just noise."

"Nuh-uh!" Trinity's voice protests from under the bed. "Mira says thunder means the sky is mad!"

They really had to tell Samira not to read her scary stories.

"Hun, it's just nature." Yolanda steps off the bed to kneel down and peek under the mattress. Trinity's knees were pulled to her chest as she snuggled her teddy bear. "That's just how storms work. They make a lot of scary noises, but nothing can hurt you in here."

Trinity tugs her thumb out her mouth and looks at Yolanda suspiciously. "No monster?"

"No monster my love."

"Now are you ready to join Mamí and Mama for some cuddles?" Yolanda reaches out a hand towards Trinity, who after a few seconds, takes it.

Trinity crawls out from under the bed and lies back down, her head in Baran's lap and her legs in Yolanda's.

Every time thunder struck and lightning flashed the two women would pull her closer and hush her.

And as she dozed off between the two that loved her most, she finally realized that no thunderstorm could hurt her.

Because she was in the safest place in the world.

“Mama! Mamí! Look at me!"

Trinity had climbed to the very top of the play place, about to go down the slide. They had gone to the park across the street from the hospital after their shift as the sun went down.

It wasn't an especially hard day, but Trinity seemed antsy so they just decided to hit the park before heading home.

"We're watching Trin." Yolanda says tiredly, taking a sip of her iced tea. Baran loosely elbows her. "Come on Yoli at least try to sound energetic."

"B, it's 7:30, I should be cuddled up in bed with a good book, not-"

"Watching Trinity unwind in her own way?" Baran finishes for her. Yolanda huffs, but she knows Baran was right. Trinity usually took things the hardest out of the three of them.

Trinity slides down the slide and Baran claps at her appearence. "Great job Trin! It's getting late, how about we head home in say, 5 minutes."

Trinity pouts. "Ten minutes."

"7."

"6!"

Trinity thinks then nods at Baran and gets back to playing.

"How do you do that?" Yolanda asks. "She always tries to manipulate me for more playing time."

Baran smirks. "She knows how to trick you. I'm good at negotiating."

"I'm plenty good at negotiating." Yolanda retorts.

"Like the other day when you happened to let her eat 3 cupcakes, and then I had to deal with the sugar high that followed?"

Yolanda's about to open her mouth to disagree before she turns her head back to the playground and huffs. "Touché." She then notices how high Trinity had gotten up the playground. She had climbed over the slide, attempting to crawl down it.

"Um Trin, I don't think that's a-"

"I can do it!" Trinity says excitedly.

Baran notices and her eyes widen. She's about to yell before-

Trinity slips off the side of it, falling about 6 feet and smacking her head on the mulch ground. She doesn't react for a few seconds, like her body was disoriented from the fall.

She is aware of Baran and Yolanda's panicked voices, hovering around her.

'Trin, oh my god can you hear me?'

'How many fingers am I holding up?'

Trinity blinks to try and get pass the brain fog and groans. "Um, like 3?"

Baran sighs and they both grab a shoulder to help her up and get her seated on the bench. She flashes a penlight that she winces at.

"Sorry hun, just gotta check for-"

Yolanda watches and sighs. "We should bring her back in to rule out any serious injuries. From here it just looks like a concussion but it could be preventing her from focusing on any other big ones."

Baran frowns, but nods at Yolanda's words as they head back across the street.

"Looks like a minor concussion." Ellis observes, putting away her penlight. She taps a bit on her iPad before smiling slightly at Trinity. "Were you getting a bit too adventurous?"

Trinity grumbles but accepts the ice pack she hands over and places it against her head.

"Well you guys known the drill. Rest, no strenuous activity, avoid bright screens."

"Which means no tv for a bit Trin," she finishes with a gentle smile.

Trinity pouts and quietly nods.

"You guys are all set."

Yolanda helps Trinity up towards the door with a smile. "You're the best El."

"Goodnight you guys, stay safe!"

They guide Trinity slowly back to the car, making sure not to jostle her.

"Now you know not to try and do dangerous tricks in the playground, right hun?"

"...Right mama." She mumbles.

She gently kisses her head. "Maybe save it for the bouncy castle she says with a smile.
