“That wasn’t the truth bus, that was the bitchy cross town express.”

“I brought you a pie.”

“I have to hate you a little while, just a little while.”

“That would’ve been weird, if not actively traumatic.”

“I’ve got a finger faster than a speeding bullet.”

“Where did I put that rat’s ass I could give?”

“Just wanted to try it on before I gave it back.”

“I really wanna kiss you now.”

“You could do with loosening up a bit.”

“I feel excitement is so much better than a lot of things.”

“Well, that’s just downright craptastic.”

“You hide booze in your Bible?”

“Jackass is as good a word as any.”

“You can’t just leave.”

“I used to think masturbation meant chewing your food.”

“If I could breathe, I would vomit.”

“Would you like a piece of pie?”

“I think it’s brave to try to be happy.”

“Ooh I just got all tingly, and not just in the nether regions.”

“If you were Clark Kent, what would you do right now?”

“How can you start again with someone who only knows who you were before?”

“I just want you to be happy.”

“But do you hate me?”

“Is it vodka?”

“Please take that away.”

“I’m not gonna pretend to be something I’m not. (It’s stressful.)”

“I was being selfish.”

“What do you need to be happy?”

“I’m not a fan of the hug.”

He glanced at his bird who was fidgeting a bit and waited for her to stabilize herself before giving Erin his full attention once more. Though that just led to him raising his eyebrow in confusion as the human looking at his hands. He didn’t really care so without much thought, he held out one of his hands to let her inspect further. 

Erin then paid more attention to his arms. “That’s so cool! Ya can give double the hugs! I can only give half a hug.” She laughed, gesturing with what was left of her arm. “Jus’ means I gotta give twice as good a hug as the next person t’ make up fer it.”

She didn’t know the endurance or strength it took to fly, let alone flying while carrying another person. “Course if that’s too far t’ fly I understand. ‘S gotta be like runnin’ with someone on yer back right? Has t’ take lotsa endurance an’ strength I figure. ‘Less yer stronger than us humans.”

“Th’ flyin’ thing would be neat. Prolly th’ easiest thing fer ya t’ pull off anyhow.” Erin wasn’t entirely sure how much she believed this man. She had been all over the country and had never seen anything she couldn’t explain or figure out with a little bit of research.

“I... see.”

“Yes, I’m afraid she’s been quite a handful for me tonight. Flying off without warning like that and all. Her name is Serafina and well..she’s a phoenix. Her kind aren’t very frequent around here.”

It was then he realized he was still in his angel form and his entire form shifted to a pale purple color out of embarrassment. 

Well that was... something that she couldn’t explain away. Was she seeing things? Did someone perhaps slip something into her drink? ...Maybe it was best to not... bring it up. Afterall the man seemed quite pleased to have his pet back.

Liam perked up a bit though as he heard someone call out to him, excitedly going over without a second though even when he was clearly not in his human form. 

Normally he wouldn’t be out and about this late, especially without his human form but he needed to find his phoenix. Of course the one day he decided to open the window, his pet decided to fly out just to spite him. Darned bird. The last thing he wanted was for her to be caught here where the species was pretty much fiction.  He sighed as he paused his search to land on the ground in a place he thought was secluded and muttered to himself.

Erin cooed at the strange feathered creature. She’d never seen anything quite like it. Perhaps it was someone’s pet? It must’ve gotten lost. She decided to keep the poor thing company til she figured out what to do, gently petting her beautiful feathers and cooing sweet things at it.

“For goodness sakes, where is that troublesome bird…”
