The question I ask myself daily–no hourly–is who am I living for? Am I living for myself? Am I living for others? Am I living for a country, a preoccupied people group, or radical ideology? Or am I truly living for God like I claim to be? The answer most often is not the latter and humility in admitting that is the first step towards it. Amidst fancy foods, late night studying, and broadening my cultural capacity I often miss my mark of Creation. I was made not with commandment, but with hands of my Father, the God of the universe. And with that comes one central command; to love God to your best ability. With that comes eternal and impossible implications, but when I step back and examine the life I have from creation, to the Gospel, to new life, I see that it is my duty to be obedient. My goals, all my hopes and aspirations, are to live within the will of God. According to His Word, I am to become a slave to righteousness, putting on the armor of God through the Gospel and live out His commandments each day. Lord, guide your sheep back to You, for You are the Good Shepherd and loving Father.
