Hi. so. i seem to have abandoned my blog again LMAO

i might make another one since this one is kind of. dead right now. 

also because my interests are constantly shifting

“At least you get it, then. Why I have to do this. You’re making up for your mistakes… and I’m making up for mine.” It still felt awful, to think of all that she had done as a mistake- but the road to hell was paved with good intentions, and it didn’t change the outcome any.

Trying to get her mind off of the unproductive moping, Cassandra took a bite of the brownie, then did a double-take. What a weird flavor. “–Baking’s not your strong suit, is it?”

“Yeah, I... that does make sense,” Varian muttered, noticing the obvious guilt in Cassandra’s voice.

“Raps.” She hadn’t said the nickname in so long, but it came to her as easily as ever. In truth, her heart seemingly hadn’t boarded the train with her, still back with Rapunzel. “I still don’t know how to get back to you, but… I’m trying. And I’ll keep trying, however long it takes. I’ll find a way back to you.”

She held her hand out. “I promise.”

Pink Rapunzel grabbed her hand in return, completely solid now, and it startled her into remembering where they were. Right, the key! She glanced over to see it in Ryan’s hand, now completely solidified. Oh, and it looked like he was having a lot more success with the other figure, too, considering how distinct it looked now.

Ryan was so preoccupied staring at the blue figure that looked like Min-Gi that he barely noticed that the pink key had turned solid in his hand.

“I don’t know what you really think of me, but I... just know that I lo- ......That I care about you. A lot.” 

“Well, the beginning’s always a good start.” She brought the tea set over to the table, pouring two cups and starting to stir sugar into her own. She remembered how he had his tea last time, but given how much he’d grown, she figured it would be better to let him decide.

“Pardon me asking, but weren’t you with a cat last time you came through? What happened there?”

Simon noticed the sugar she’d put down, and decided to put quite a bit of it in his tea. He actually felt more like drinking alcohol, but he supposed a lot of sugar in his tea would have to do for now.

Well, that was definitely not a good sign. Cassandra’s eyes flicked between the machine and the door. “On a scale from one to ‘evacuate the town’, how bad is that?” She didn’t want to be alarmist, but she’d seen how some of the alchemist’s devices had gone before.

“Uh...” Varian thought of how to answer that. “Somewhere... in the middle? I hope?”

And yet the machine kept on emitting smoke that blew into his face.

She gave a bit of a chuckle despite herself. “You’re a good kid, Varian.” A pause. Cassandra reached over and took one of the brownies, not yet taking a bite.

“…and that’s why you shouldn’t be around me. I don’t want you getting mixed up in all of this. What’s going on involves Rapunzel and me, but nobody else needs to get involved. It just means more people might get hurt.”

Varian frowned in response to Cassandra saying he shouldn’t be around her. “No, I... I get it. I wish I’d told people to stay away from me when I was... you know. Attacking the kingdom. That also should’ve just been between Rapunzel and me, but... it wasn’t. I had to get everyone involved... including you.”
