People who make hades the bad guy and only unattractive god in a movie are cowards, its 2018, itâs time to grow up and blame zeus for everything
stupid ideas
pairing: bucky barnes x avenger!reader
word count: 2k
warnings: jumping off heights, reader injuries, angst(?) // tell me if thereâs more
plot: (y/n) never thinks things through, but one day does something so unbelievable, Bucky has to deal with the effects.
A/N: criticism on how to improve it would be appreciated bc idk how to wrap things up :)) really loved that i pulled a 360 from the last one i wrote
Hurt, thatâs all he knew. He destroyed everything and in return it left him as a shell of a man. Everyday, he feels haunted from the memories that followed him. He couldnât escape them, they echoed through his head and they wouldnât leave. He was struggling, he did get better, but it was slow and painful. And then, she was there.
Theyâve been living in the same building now for months, but he never paid much attention to her. (y/n) was intrigued with him, but he never seemed in the mood to talk to her, so she always lets it go. It changed during a mission, when she was reckless and stupid in Tonyâs words. (y/n) did it, though. This was just one of her many, awful ideas. She was after some agent when she slams the brakes on the car that she was driving. The reason? It was just so she wouldnât hit a family of ducks crossing the road. It was so idiotic, they were in a chase and the car behind hers crashed into the back. But she just shrugs it off, saying she didnât want to be responsible for innocent bystanders death. Bucky was in the car with her riding shotgun, and hell, he was mad. She let the car ahead of them get ahead, and now the back of the car was broken. She ruined the mission for ducks. He scolded her and she just laughed, and went around the ducks, acting like it was just a minor inconvenience that the back of the car has a gaping hole.
After his anger about that situation disinagratesd, he became intrigued. Why would someone do such a thing? Why would anyone endanger a mission for ducks? He was full aware that she does impulsive actions during missions. The rest of the avengers share stories about the mindless actions she does. He never thought much about, he never experienced them himself, until the duck fiasco. For months , she captivates his attention. He couldnât quite figure her out, why she throws herself in danger so easily. He studies her and becomes closer to her, talking to her beyond missions and small talk, trying to figure her out. At first, it was just a side idea, trying to know what makes her do impulsive things. But throughout his âresearchâ, he couldnât help but notice how light her laugh was and how graceful she was. He was falling for her, oh so slowly. So slowly, he didnât even realize it until he felt empty when she went to a mission for a week. He misses all her quirks and the constant laughter from her. He misses how gentle she was with him. He misses how she saw beyond his past and lives in the moment with him. When he gains the confidence to ask her out, after Steve telling him to just do it. He was terrified of what she would say, but she smiled and said yes.
Then the rest was history, theyâve been head over heels in love with each other. They spent all their time together when they could, outside their busy schedules. They go to cafes and strolled through parks. (y/n) forces him to watch movies he missed out on and he teaches her things about the past. She sticks through his hard patches and he was there to protect her from herself. They worked well, everyone could see it. It was like they found a missing piece to one eachother, though it sounds cheesy. Tony thought it was repulsive how they could be so affectionate and loving all the time. But they prospered and it was beautiful, to see how they just fit.
Then she does the most dangerous and dumbest stunt sheâs ever executed. The fact that she had the audacity to do it enraged him a bit, how could she blind and not see the lasting impact.
âRight, I see him,â (y/n) announces. She was on a mission, her, Steve, and Natasha, and of course, the subject decides to run to the top of the building.
âDonât let him escape, Iâm coming,â Natasha says.
âI was gonna let him walk away,â (y/n) jokes, as she runs up the stairs, panting for air. Cardio was never her strong suit.
âWe canât kill him, we have to use him for a source,â Steve adds, he was currently trying to find a way to the top, as he faced complications.
âYup, got it. Roger that,â (y/n) laughs at her own pun.
âGod, how can you be so upbeat all the time. That pun is abused too much, thats like the twentieth time you used it today,â Natasha grumbles.
(y/n) rolls her eyes, though no one can see it. She shoots her gun because she finally reaches an opening where she can see the criminal, trying to injure him and slow him down. Of course, she misses, it was just super convenient for him to knock down a shelf in front of her. She sighs, before rushing back up the stairs and through the roof.
As she emerges through the door, itâs only her and the HYDRA agent. Natasha and Steve were trying to rush back up, but they had some difficulties with other agents before they blew themselves up. He stands up top, cocking his head staring at her. Trying to tempt her to shoot, like heâll do something.
âOkay, got him. Do I engage? Heâs near the ledge,â (y/n) asks, no one has reached the top yet, except for her.
âDonât shoot him, he may fall of the building,â Steve replies, âIâm almost there.â
The agent has a smirk on his face, trying to lure her in. (y/n) starts walking towards him at an agonizing slow pace and he stands there, perfectly still. He then begins to edge his way towards the end of the building, still locking eyes with (y/n). He walks closer and closer, trying to see what sheâll do. It takes her about ten seconds for her to process that he was going to jump off. This was not the ideal situation at all, if life went the way she wanted it to go, they wouldâve got him ten minutes ago and she wouldnât be out of breath from running. She dosenât know how to react, he was edging closer. (y/n) feels the panic run through her body, she could not let him go over. If she shoots, the impact will clearly knock him off the edge but if she dosenât do anything heâll fall. She would be damned if she was the one responsible for losing their only lead. So she concludes the only solution is to sprint towards him, and lunge at him, trying to grab him. If she can pull him off the edge, itâll solve all her problems. To her shock, he moves just as she lunges. She was already running towards him, feet off the ground. It was too late to stop the momentum. Her scream was echoing through the air as she fell.
Bucky heard the news while he was watching some reality show at the base. He did this to calm his anxiousness about (y/n), but she always arrives alright. No major injuries that she couldnât bounce back from. The mission was taking longer then everyone thought. At least an update at this point was expected. Bucky didnât think much about it, he trusted that they would be safe. It was a strong trio, they should be fine. So Bucky continues to aimlessly watch the television, not giving much though to it when Tony walks in the room. His face was full of distress, his hands fumbling with his jacket before they ran through his hair.
âBucky, we have to go,â Tony announces, his voice shaky. Bucky does what heâs told, but heâs getting this awful vibe from the situation. Cool and collective Tony was lost. He didnât want to question it, it was like he would jinx it if he asked what was happening.
In the elevator, Tony pushes the infirmary level, further confirming Buckyâs idea that something went wrong. Bucky feels his chest tighten, âWho got injured?â
Tony bites his lip, and takes a deep breath, âItâs bad, real bad.â
The elevator dings and the two walk out, Tony keeps running his hands through his hair as he leads them to the back hall. The hall where doctors and nurses were swarming with, where the avengers stand, all with the same anxious look. Bucky looks around, trying to see the missing one, but to his dismay he couldnât locate (y/n). (y/n).
Bucky pushes through the crowd, and goes into the room where people run in and out from. Doctors grab at him, warning that itâs restricted. Bucky easily shakes them off, he just wanted to see if what he thought was true, and he hopes to god itâs not. Then he sees her. (y/n) was unconscious, and god she looked horrible. Dried blood coated her, her limbs dislocated in areas, scratches and scars covering her, IVâs and wraps were along her body. She looked like she was dying. It was his worst nightmare. He couldnât breathe, his lungs have collapsed and he was moving fast to her side. Grabbing her hand, he glances up to see her heart still beating, but she looked the opposite. The tears came quick, because this was not how it was supposed to go. She was supposed to arrive okay and they were going to go to that one art museum sheâs been raging about the next day. His heart physically aches, it hurts. It was like he was the one who got injured, like he was the one lying in that bed. He was a wreck.
Footsteps approach and a hand lays on Buckyâs shoulder, Steveâs voice whispers, âI should have been there.â
Bucky jerks, letting Steveâs hand fall. He knew his anger was not in the right place. It wasnât Steveâs fault, but he sure couldâve done a better job. After all, she had a reputation of doing these ridiculous stunts. Bucky looks up at Steve, his hand lightly on (y/n)âs, âWhat did she do?â
âShe fell of a building, she was trying to prevent the agent from falling off, and he dodged her.â
Bucky sucks in his breath, this was the classic, stupid (y/n) move, he almost wants to laugh. This was such a her thing to do. She had a bad habit of not thinking ideas through, he learned that. From slamming onto brakes to save ducks to when she bakes cupcakes and grabs the tin straight from the oven without mitts. It never occurred to her that maybe the agent was trying to do something, to do a good classic dodge move? It was a flaw of hers, but he loved it, it was a part of her. He loves her.
His guard falls down quickly, his subtle tears turned into sobs. He didnât care who saw, if his big, bad, mysterious reputation got ruined. She was hurting, and it hurt him. She managed to make him smile and laugh, like they were normal. Now she was here, all broken bones and blood. She canât be there to comfort him, she canât be there to tell him that everything will be alright. She looked lifeless despite the beating from the monitor. It told him everything, that she had one foot in the grave, she was going to be knocked out for days. God, she could be unconscious for weeks. That was terrifying. No one to hold, no one to lighten his mood. He canât help her either, he canât take away her pain. His heart is breaking, his world was falling apart. He shouldâve been there, taken the mission instead. But he didnât. Now the love of his life, was suffering, and how long would it last? No one knew, but he would hurt as long as she would.
I desperately need a part two or else I'll die

A/N: Come scream at me in my ask box~Â
You wake up when something or better someone shifts beside you, an arm pulling you closer to the man and you hear him sigh softly.
Slowly you look up at him and see that he is already awake, smiling when he catches your eyes.
âGood morning, little doll.â A sudden heat spreads on your face and you smile shyly. âMorningâŚâ Bucky chuckles softly and kisses your head, tracing patterns into your skin with his fingers.
Fingers that made you screaming only a few hours before, shaking with the intense lust for him and you hide your face in the furs at this memory.
Another soft kiss is pressed to your hair and you feel his chest vibrate with his laugh. âNo need to hide, little doll. You seemed to like it.â

PART 4 : THE SCREAM
PART 1Â PART 2Â PART 3
Summary : What if Steve Rogers had a twin sister? And Bucky Barnes was her love? A 1940â˛s love ruined by war and time, destined to be a star-crossed relationship. But the universe has different plans for (y/n) Rogers, for even the universe couldnât come between her and her love.
I would wake up to darkness, not knowing where I was. I would scream into the gag strapped over my mouth, struggle and fail in escaping my restrains. I would I feel a sharp sting on my neck, and fall back into unconsciousness.
I donât know how many times this process was repeated. I didnât know how much time had passed. I didnât know where I had gone.
All I knew was that I left my home at night, and was shoved out of an aircraft into daylight. Had it been a day? Or could it have been a month?
I, in my thin sleeping gown, stood up and steadied myself from the white and freezing ground. Â My unsteady head looked around to see snow everywhere. The white plains seemed to stretch for miles and miles, never ending.
My skin hissed at the air and the ground. The frozen ground felt almost burning to my bare feet. Every shaky exhale turned to white fog right in front of me. Despite all that, my hands covered around the most important part of me - Daisy.
âInto truck, Rogers.â A man behind me spat, sporting a Russian accent almost too thick to understand.
âWh-where am I?â I demanded, teeth chattering from the cold.
âI wonât say again.â The man huffed, pulling out a taser. He stepped forward, looming menacingly over my smaller figure. âInto. Truck.â
âTELL ME WHERE I AM, YOU INSANE LUNAT-â
â
I woke again to a rumble of an engine beneath me. I was lying down on a soft leather seat. My opening eyes snapped shut at the sudden sound of a piercing crackle. Muffled and inaudible words, Russian possibly, that sounded electronic followed.
When the noise stopped, another voice started to speak. But the second voice sounded clearer and closer, as if the person was right next to me
âда ŃŃŃ.â The second voice said.
A man.
âŃŃĐž Он ŃкаСаН?â
Another man!
So I was in a truck with two men, who are talking to someone else on a communication device. That was not enough to go on. I had to take my chances!
I squinted my eyes to the point where I could see, but others wouldnât notice that my eyes were open. I looked around, trying to limit movement as much as possible. The two men, who I realized were HYDRA soldiers, were still unaware of my situation, continuing their conversation that I canât possibly understand.
The men were relaxed. So relaxed that one of them had put down their gun.
The gun was placed on the console between the two front seats. I could snatch the gun away and still have time to catch them by surprise and shoot them. But who should I shoot first?
âĐОкŃĐžŃ ĐłĐžĐ˛ĐžŃиŃ, ŃŃĐž довŃŃка - ŃŃĐž ŃĐž, ŃŃĐž ĐľĐźŃ Đ˝ŃМнО. ĐĐžĐťŃ ŃŃойŃĐľŃ Đ˝Đ°Đ¸ĐťŃŃŃогО Đ´ĐťŃ ŃĐşŃпоŃиПонŃа. Рдва ÂŤĐˇĐ¸ĐźĐ˝Đ¸Ń ŃОНдаŃа ĐťŃŃŃĐľ ОднОгО!â
If I shot the driver, the truck would swerve out of control, possibly causing harm to me as well. The driver should be focused on the road. If I shot the passenger, he would need at least a second to recover and take action. With the two men dead, the ringing of my ears wouldnât cause consequences.
When one of the men finished his sentence, they both burst into laughter.
I struck like lightning. With two pulls of the trigger, the men fell. I fumbled at the door, ignoring the ringing problem. Time was of the essence.
I hopped out of the car and scanned the area. Nothing but snow-covered land. What did I expect?
A cold gust of wind blew past my barely covered body, reminding me of the cold. My stomach growled, too. How long since my last meal?
They must have supplies at the back of the truck!
I jogged to the back, hoping to find some bags of food or coats. Anything would have been fine.
Instead I saw a pair of eyes glaring back at me. The man was heavily armored except for his head, but his helmet was placed beside him.
âI thought you learn now?â Said the man who tased me, whipping out a baton. âThere is always third.â
As far as I could see, all there was around here besides the truck was snow and ice. I was in the same scenario again. I canât run. I canât hide.
I clicked the gun towards his direction, aiming but not firing.
âI can shoot you right now.â
âThen I will use last breath to destroy what you love most.â
The soldier cackled at my stunned expression. He pointed at my stomach.
âAm I wrong?â He asked while he put on his helmet, leaping down the truck.
Before he could take another step towards me, I fired a shot at his chest. I expected a grunt or a scream, I didnât expect a laugh.
âVibranium, little girl. Like brotherâs shield.â
I kept firing, he kept laughing. The bullets bounced off his body like rubber balls.
âAre you even trying?â He sounded like he was going to die of laughter. I only wished that was true.
I turned on my heels and tried to run. I hadnât even covered 10 feet when I was struck down. I stood with a pounding head and looked at the baton that had landed at my feet.
What use was of it? I might as well hit him with a bolster.
But I still had the gun in my hand, with only one or two bullets left.
âDonât run, girl!â I heard the man shout behind me, his voice sounding louder with every step towards me. âYou will fail! SURRENDER NOW!â
Things do not look good for me. Iâm cold, Iâm hungry, and Iâm weak. My only weapon was useless against the HYDRA soldier, whose organization wants me alive, for reasons. And thereâs a baby about to die because her mother couldnât protect her. The logical thing was to surrender, as to ensure our survival.
But I was too much alike to my brother. We both had death inducing stubbornness.
I cocked the gun at the man and fired at his head.
I could already sense him rolling his eyes and scoffing behind that vibranium helmet of his.
âFire another shot. Maybe it work this time.â He hollered, voice dripping with sarcasm. âPut elbow grease this time, huh?â
He pulled out a needle filled with anesthesia and charged towards me at high speed. But in that moment, the world seemed to slow down, because realization had just struck me.
He said âelbow greaseâ. Elbows. Joints!
Even though his armor was made of vibranium, some parts were not!
His joints, they were covered by black leather instead!
I had one shot. And I made it count.
The bullet pierced through his neck right as he was in front of me, arm raised to inject me. What happened next was not a pretty sight. He dropped face down and he dragged me down onto the ground with him.
Him arm spasmed and he twisted his head to look at me. âToo weak to kill you. Strong enough to kill her.â Blood continued to seep out of him, but his eyes were full of glee.
He choked out a laugh.
And was quiet.
My heart was beating a million miles an hour. What did he mean by that? I stood up and looked at the dead man at my feet. I did a mental count in my head.
Did a weak dame like me just kill 5 HYDRA soldiers?
Just as my adrenaline died down, something felt very very wrong.
âAUUGGHH!!!â
My scream spread through the day. I screamed until I was hoarse. I screamed because of the pain. I cried because of the devastation. I screamed and cried because what was anesthesia to me, was poison for her.
Blood soaked my gown. And that little speck of blood was enough for me to know.
My daughter is dead.
â
I walked in the white desert, no destination in mind. Nowhere to go. I will die along with her.
I wrapped the coat I found in the truck tighter against my body. At least Iâm not as cold anymore. The squishy sound of my footsteps on the snow was all I heard.
Thatâs when the buzzing started. It was faint, but definitely there. Louder and louder. The wind was also stirring up. The buzzing got louder and sounded like a heart beating out of control.
I looked up at the sky and saw a helicopter. What did I expect but the symbol of HYDRA on it?
I didnât want to fight anymore.
And so I ran.
Ran like my life depended on it, because it did. The men didnât stop pursuing me, but they didnât fire their guns in case they might hit me. Their shouts for me to surrender to them accompanied my rapid heartbeat. I kept running for my life. The ground cracking at my weight.
Wait. What?
âCrackingâ?
Iâm not running on solid ground anymore.
I was standing on a frozen lake. And an unstable one too.
I halted in my spot, not daring to make another move. The ice around me cracked and split. More fissures and webs formed when I shifted my weight.
I looked at the sky. Theyâre getting closer. Right now I had two options. Die or get captured by HYDRA.
My answer was clear.
â
A/N : This part until the end of the chapter will be read in 3rd personâs pov.
â
In The HYDRA Helicopter
Seeing the sight before him, the HYDRA soldier clicked at his communication device, contacting HQ.
âTarget not acquired, sir. She fell into a frozen lake.â
The device crackled back with a response.
âLeave the area, soldier. It is contaminated with high levels of radiation. And in this temperature, I doubt the girl lived.â
âAnd the experiment, sir?â
âThe doctor wishes to start immediately. The man will do.â
â
In A Small Cottage
âMiss?â
hm?
âMiss? Wake up.â
As her body was shook, (y/n) Rogers opened her eyes.
She looked around her. Her body was wrapped in layers of blankets, and she was sitting in her fireplace. Despite all the heat and layers, her body till felt cold and freezing. She noticed a man beside her.
âWhere am I? Why am I here?â She asked the man, rubbing her hands together for more warmth.
âYou are in Siberia, Russia. More specifically, my cottage.â The manâs expression turned serious.
âAs for the reason. I am a fisherman, and I found you in a frozen lake. I brought you here. That was a week ago.â
The young woman shuddered. âExplains the cold, then. How long was I in the lake? Tell me sir, what is the date today?â
He handed her a glass of water, gesturing for her to drink up. âItâs March 10.â
âBut how is that possible?â She gasped. âYesterday was the middle of May!â
There was only one explanation.
âThen what year is it?â
âWell itâs 2011, of course.â
The young woman, paralyzed from shock, had not realized that the contents of her glass have just turned to ice.
â
A/N : If youâd like to have a hint as to what would have happened to (y/n) Rogers if she hadnât escaped her captors, translate the Russian text. If the doctor had it his way, things would have been way different.
Anyway, after reading the last two sentences, you probably know where this story is headed.

âSenator Brandt, I regret to report that Captain Steve G. Rogers went missing behind enemy lines on the third. Aerial reconnaissance has proven unfruitful. As a result, I must declare Captain Rogers killed in action. Period.â
Right now I was in the army camp where Steve, or should I say Captain Rogers, was last seen. I tried convincing the colonel to keep looking for evidence that either Steve or Bucky was alive for hours, but the answers he gave me were all half-assed. Even right now, a report about Steveâs alleged death was being written.

A/N: Iâve been sitting on this story for MONTHS and I donât like it too much, but I figure I might as well publish it if Iâm never gonna do anything else with it!!
ââââ-
âWhat are you doing tonight?â Bucky appeared out of nowhere, immediately falling into step with you.
âWhat, were you waiting out here for the past fifteen minutes since class ended? For little old me?â You replied sarcastically.
âActually, for the past hour. I skipped last period.â
âWow, my hero,â you deadpanned.
He chuckled and took a puff of his cigarette.
You plucked it from his lips.
âHey!â he protested, smoke leaving his mouth with the syllable.
âFirst lesson, I donât go out with smokers,â you dropped the cigarette on the ground and stepped on it as you continued walking, âSo if you have more of those in your pocket, then I think the entirety of tonight is booked for me.â You grinned over at him as he shoved his hands in his pocket, defeated.
âFine, fine, whatever.â
âWhat, am I not worth the chase anymore if it means you have to give up your gross addiction?â You fake pouted, actually hoping heâd agree and leave you alone.
âAw, no, you wonât get off that easy, darlinâ,â his strikingly white teeth sparkled as he gave you a large grin, âSo, I guarantee, no cigs. Is tonight looking a little more free now?â
âItâs actually looking a little more boring. Wanda and I are having a study sesh for most of it.â
âCancel.â
You stopped walking, âCancel plans with my best friend that will help me do better in school in order to have some weird, âwildâ night with Bucky Barnes? You really think youâre hot shit, huh?â
âNah, nah,â he replied, raising a perfect eyebrow, âI know I am.â
You gave a short laugh, âAh, clever,â you picked up your gait again, âIt appears there is a brain behind that big leather jacket.â
âYou bet, sweetheart. Maybe if youâre lucky, Iâll let you take the jacket off,â he winked.
You laughed, unimpressed, âIf Iâm lucky? More like if youâre lucky. Try those BS lines on some other chick, baby.â
You pushed past him and continued toward your car.
âAlright, alright. Youâre right.â He put a hand to his heart, âI would be lucky. So whaddaya say, darlinâ?â
You tilted your head to the side and stepped forward to face him. âWhat do I say?â You repeated.
You grabbed the collar of his leather jacket and pulled his smug grin an inch away from your lips.
âThe answer,â you whispered, âIs no.â
You grinned and pushed him away from you with a laugh, his eyebrow furrowed with confusion at how you not only rejected hooking up with him, but also even just a kiss with him.
âSee ya Monday, baby,â you yelled over your shoulder, strutting down to your car at the end of the lot.
***
You sung along under your breath with the song playing gently in the background of your room as you typed in the problem into your calculator.
âOh, perfect,â you frowned, looking between the calculatorâs answer and your own, âThat is nowhere near what I got. Amazing,â you pushed the books off your lap and groaned, sitting back against your bed. âThis is hopeless. Iâm gonna fail Calculus, and then Iâm gonna fail high school, and then no college will ever accept me and Iâll have to spend my life trying to climb the ranks at McDonalds.â
âMmm, yup, youâre right,â Wanda replied, laying down next to you. âThis one test in one subject will completely blow past your 4.0 GPA and doom the rest of your life.â
âFor once can you just let me be dramatic?â You whined.
âHmm. No I donât think so.â
You rolled your eyes, but laughed along with her.
However, Wanda interrupted your laughing by holding a finger up and pausing.
You quieted and waited for whatever she was doing.
âHear that?â She mouthed.
You furrowed your brow and nodded. Yeah, you did.
It sounded like muffled yelling. And it was coming from your outside wall.
You stood up and turned off your main light in order to see the dark outside your window. You raised your window blind and squinted out into the darkness, before seeing a figure raise its arms in victory.
âWho is it?â Wanda asked, beside you.
âAn utter idiot,â you replied, unlocking your window and pushing the glass open.
âWhat on earth do you think youâre doing?â You shouted down at him.
âGetting your attention. And checking your alibi,â Bucky looked Wanda up and down.
âYes, genius,â you yelled back, âI wasnât lying. I was actually studying. I know you arenât familiar with that term, but it is, in fact, a real thing. Why are you even here?â
âI was in the neighborhood and I figured Iâd stop by.â
âYouâre always in the neighborhood. You literally live four houses down.â
âOh do I? Hmm, hadnât noticed.â
You rolled your eyes, âWhat do you want, motorcycle boy?â
âMotorcycle boy? Oh, come on, doll, Iâm worth more than that.â
âWell, now that I see how much you hate that name, youâre forever branded with it.â
âFine, fine, I walked right into that one. But how about YOU walk yourself down here and go out with me?â
âOr how about no?â
âCome on, sweetheart, youâre gonna have to agree one of these times. Iâm trying my hardest here.â
âI certainly do NOT have to agree. But you can keep trying all you want. In fact, feel free to wait outside this window all night. Hell, build a fort down there and sleep here. I donât care. This is never gonna happen, baby.â
You waved before shutting the window.
âAw, come on,â he grinned at you.
You closed the blind and huffed back on the bed, ignoring the muffled noises from outside the window.
âSo,â Wanda laughed, âWhatâs the deal with him?â
âOh, I donât know,â you shrugged it off.
âHeâs cute, you should go for it.â
âWanda! Not helping!â
âWhat? Whatâs so wrong with him? Heâs hot, and he seems pretty sweet.â
âCan we just stop talking about this? This is exactly what he wants us to be doing, and I refuse to give in to the enemy.â
Wanda just laughed, but complied nonetheless.
***
âFancy meetinâ you here stranger,â a deep voice came from behind you.
You sighed and turned around, readjusting the grocery shopping basket in your hand, âYou following me?â
âBelieve it or not, sweetheart, youâre not the only one who needs to eat.â
You raised an eyebrow, unconvinced.
âAlright you got me. To be honest, I just wanted to get out of the house for a bit. But no, Miss Egomaniac, I had no idea you were here. Iâm actually just here to buy this,â he reached past you to grab something, getting dangerously close as his shoulder-length hair brushed across your cheek.
You froze in your spot, not sure how to react, especially when jesus did he always smell this good?
He pulled back, though returning to a spot much closer than he was before.
He held up a Coke, spinning it around to see the label.
âHmm, âShare a Coke with Your: Better Half.â
He looked directly at you, smugly, as he twisted the cap off and took a long drink.
âOh, youâre one of those people, huh,â You spoke up, âUsing the product before you buy it?â
He shrugged, swallowing the soda, âWhatâs it matter if Iâm buying it either way? Theyâll get my money soon enough.â
You shook your head and crossed your arms.
âCome on,â he waved it in front of your face, âWe canât disrespect the bottle, now, can we, Better Half?â
âWe absolutely can. Those names are arbitrary anyway; itâs just to get more sales.â
He pushed the bottle toward your further, and you looked down at it.
Ugh. FINE.
You snatched the bottle and took a quick swig. You swallowed it and shoved the bottle back in his hand before pushing past him and down the aisle.
âAw, come on, doll, it wasnât that painful!â
âYes, it was!â You called over your shoulder.
You heard him chuckling as you shook your head and turned into a different aisle.
***
You shut your locker to find Bucky on the other side of it.
âSo, howâd you do on that test you studied so hard for?â He asked, one arm leaning casually against the wall.
âGood, I think,â you began walking, âBut grades wonât come out for a few more days so thatâs TBD.â
âWas it worth blowing me off for?â
âI seem to recall you made multiple appearances during my weekend, so I donât know what you mean by that.â
âYou still blew me off.â
âOnly in your dreams,â you sniped back, staring him down with the statementâs double entendre implications.
He looked away, a large, impressed grin on his face, âAlright, that was a good one, Iâll admit it.â
âPlenty more where that came from, motorcycle boy,â you smiled, stepping away from him to go to class.
ââPlenty more?â So you admit youâll keep talking to me?â He called after you, a proud smile on his lips.
âDonât count on it!â
***
You were walking down the steps toward the parking lot to see Bucky leaning against his motorcycle and waiting for you. Again. Except this was the first time that you caught him before he caught you. But before you could start the conversation, Bucky had already seen you and was by your side.
He opened his mouth to speak but you cut him off.
âYou know, you canât just come up to me everyday to try to convince me to go out with you.â
He furrowed his brow, âAnd whyâs that?â
You snorted, ââCuz, you just canât!â
âWell, would you like me to stop?â
You bit your cheek, not sure. You naturally wanted to say yes, like you always did, but that wasnât completely true. You kinda liked him bothering you. For some odd reason.
âWhatâs this?â Bucky teased, âIs the great Y/N hesitating in rejecting me?â He chuckled, âEither youâre losing your mind or Iâm finally getting to you.â
âIâm gonna go with the former,â you replied, âMuch more likely.â
âSure, sure.â
He was wearing sunglasses that framed his face perfectly, and you were annoyed at the way they partially hid his (beautiful eyes) expressions from you.
So, you took them.
You reached forward and slid them off his nose, and then plopped them onto your own.
âI believe I was using those,â he squinted, his eyes readjusting to the brighter sunlight he was being exposed to.
âAnd now I am. Go figure.â
âWill I be getting them back any time soon?â
âI wouldnât bet on it.â
He laughed, and you caught sight of the gum heâd been chewing in his mouth.
âSince when do you chew gum?â You furrowed your brow slightly.
âSince I started trying to quit smoking. Turns out itâs bad for your lungs or something. Who knew, right?â
You crossed your arms, smiling, âYeah. Who knew.â
âDonât look at me like that.â
âLike what?â
âLike youâre winning.â
âHmm, well, it seems to me that I am at the momentâŚ?â
âShut up.â He was⌠kind of blushing. Woah.
âLook,â he continued, âAs much as I love this exchange, I do have to get home right now.â
âThen go. Iâm not stopping you,â you told him, beginning to walk away toward your own car.
âMaybe not purposefully but you definitely are,â he replied, hopping onto his motorcycle. You just shook your head, before straightening up and blinking in realization.
âOh, hey,â you paused, âdo you want your sunglasses back?â
He stopped for a moment before shrugging, âNah. You look better in them anyway, sweetheart.â
He winked before revving his engine and speeding away.
âYou look better in them anyway.â
After seeing him wearing them, you werenât too sure about thatâŚ
***
You were lying in bed, scrolling on your phone when you heard a familiar thumping.
Yup. It was him again. But 1am?! Seriously?!
You opened up your window and prepared to yell down at him, âBarnes, what the he-â
âY/N?â
You frowned. That wasnât his normal casual-and-smugly-charming attitude. Something was wrong. You could tell immediately.
âCan I⌠can I come up?â He asked quietly.
âBuck, my parents would kill me if-â
âPlease?â His voice cracked slightly on the single syllable and you exhaled.
âAlright. Iâll meet you at the front door.â
You silently crept down the steps and to the front door.
Slowly, you opened the door to see Bucky standing there.
God, youâd never seen him so messed up over something. His face was twisted like youâd never seen before.
âWhat happened, Buck?â
His eyes flitted up to yours and you noticed the pain behind them. âUm, can we just⌠not⌠I donât want to talk about it.â
You took a deep breath but nodded, âThatâs okay. You donât have to.â
You noticed the bruise blooming on his cheek and you could put the puzzle pieces together yourself. He didnât need to say anything.
âLook, I know⌠I know you donât really like me that much, and I know that Iâm always joking around about this stuff but⌠can I sleep here tonight? Iâll sleep on the floor or whatever, but I just canât be home right nowâŚâ
You nodded, âOf course. Whatever you need. Um, follow me. But, uh, you have to promise to be completely quiet. If my parents catch you here, then you wonât be able to stay.â
Bucky gave a sad smile, âDonât worry, Iâm pretty good at being quiet.â
Your heart tugged and you wanted to hug him, but instead you nodded before turning around and leading him up the stairs toward your room.
You gestured him inside and began clearing stuff up from the floor so he could walk without tripping over textbooks and dirty clothes.
He chuckled half-heartedly and you looked up to see why.
âNice bra,â he nodded towards a black lace one hanging off your closet door. You rolled your eyes, feigning annoyance, but in reality, you were glad he was feeling better enough to joke around, even if the smile didnât quite reach his eyes.
âSo I guess Iâll be here for the night?â He motioned to the floor you had just cleared.
âOh, well. I mean, you could,â you mumbled, âBut you can have the bed if you want. I think youâve been through enough tonight.â
âIâm not about to potentially get you in trouble with your parents AND steal your bed from you, come on. Iâm at least slightly a gentleman.â
âItâs not stealing if I offer. And anyway, I wouldnât really mind sharing the bed with you. I just donât wanna make you sleep on my cold, dirty floor.â
Bucky paused and stared at you seriously for a long moment.
You returned the look. You felt like this might be the first time you were seeing the real Bucky. Not that that cocky Bucky wasnât a version of him, but this was the Bucky beneath all that.
âReally?â He asked after a moment, âI know I can make some people uncomfortable sometimes, and I donât wannaâŚâ
âYouâve never made me uncomfortable,â you answered immediately.
He was giving you that look again. Like he almost couldnât trust what you were saying. âSerious?â
You gave a small smile, âYeah. I mean,â you slipped a smile, âyes, sometimes youâre tediously confident and repetitiveâŚâ you teased.
He chuckled.
â⌠But I trust you,â you ended earnestly. And it was the truth. You didnât know why. But you did. He may be annoying and perhaps stalkerish, but you knew the second you REALLY told him to stop, he would instantly.
âThanks,â he replied simply, not knowing what else to say to communicate how much that meant to him.
âYouâre welcome.â
You two stared at each other for a moment longer, before you reached forward to touch his face.
Your fingers ghosted over his bruise and trailed down to a few cuts and a split lip, âWant me to take care of that for you?â You whispered.
He only looked at you with wide eyes, before eventually moving his mouth slightly to utter a dazed, âSure.â
You gave him a soft smile and left the room to go get a first aid kit.
You returned shortly and motioned for him to sit on the bed, bouncing down next to him.
You clicked open the kit and poured some cleaner on a cotton ball.
You cringed at him slightly, âThis is gonna hurt.â
âNot as much as it did when I got it,â he half joked.
Your heart broke slightly at that, but you continued on.
You counted down before placing it gently on the cut on his lip. You could tell he was trying not to show the pain.
âYou donât have to pretend like it doesnât sting, I know it does.â
âDonât worry about it, sweetheart.â
You sighed but pressed a new cottonball on his temple.
This time he let out an audible hiss.
âSorry,â you whispered, pulling the cotton ball away. And, for a reason you didnât know, you leaned forward and kissed his temple before rubbing a little Neosporin on it.
You pulled back and proceeded to work on another one of his cuts, fighting down the wild feelings bubbling inside you at the act.
You dared a small glance at him to see his reaction, and saw his mouth was slightly agape with shock.
Realizing you were looking, he coughed and replaced it with cool charm, âCan I get one of those on this one?â He quirked an eyebrow, pointing at his split lip.
âShut up,â you lightly punched him in the shoulder.
You noticed the wince he tried, and almost succeed at, hiding.
But he couldnât hide it from you.
âShow me.â
âI donât know what youâre talking about.â
You took his face in one hand, âBuck. Let me help.â
He sighed, relentingly, grabbing the back of his shirt and pulling it off over his head.
Your jaw fell open at the bruises littered up and down his muscles. You could tell they werenât all fresh.
âCome on, Y/N, I donât want to-â he looked away and cut himself off.
He seemed⌠embarrassed.
âBucky, thereâs nothing to be ashamed about. None of this is your fault.â
He was still looking away. You grabbed his jaw and forced him to face you, âListen to me. None. of this. is your fault.â
He at least seemed to partly take in what you were saying, but he looked down anyway.
Most of his injuries were bruises, but there were a few more cuts you were able to bandage.
Once you finished, you cleaned up the bandages and trash, then shut the first aid kit.
âYou can put your shirt back on if you want,â you replied, walking over and placing the first aid kit on your desk to be put away tomorrow morning.
âAnd what if I donât want to?â He winked.
You rolled your eyes, âJust get in the bed so I can turn off the light and get some rest.â
âYes, maâam,â he grinned.
You shook your head, grinning back, and waited until he had slipped his shirt back on and was under the covers for you to turn off the light.
You sighed and climbed in next to him, raising the blankets up to your chin.
âThanks for helping me,â he whispered into the darkness of the room.
âThanks for trusting me enough to come to me.â
He only hummed in response.
***
You remember waking up at some point in the early morning, your hand somehow intertwined with his, and the sunlight from your open window streaming in on his beautiful hair and peaceful countenance.
You loved it.
You wished you could wake up to that every morning.
But before you knew it, youâd fallen back asleep. And the next time you awoke wasnât as kind.
This time, an alarm was blaring, the sunlight was harsher, and there was no beautiful subject for it to fall upon.
You sat up and hit your buzzer, but saw nothing of Bucky anywhere in your room. You frowned and stood up, walking around for a second in confusion before your eyes caught a piece of paper tacked to your bulletin board:
Thanks.
You smiled softly and took the note off, tracing your finger over the 6 scribbled letters.
***
âWhat about this weekend?â Bucky persisted, appearing next to you and as you walked down the parking lot.
âYou just never give up, huh?â
âIâve been known to be a persistent asshole from time to time.â
âI think the âfrom time to timeâ part of that sentence might be too generous of a qualifier.â
âOuch,â a smile still cracking on his lips.
You shrugged it off, âIâm busy this weekend, too. You canât just waltz in and expect me to clear my plans for you Buckaroo.â
ââBuckaroo?ââ He winced, âI think youâre slipping, doll.â
âYou know what I meant!â
âYouâre right I did. So, what about tonight instead?â
âWhat?â
âYou heard me.â
âI told you I couldnât do future plans as it was such late notice, so you decide to try something even MORE late notice? That makes senseâŚâ
âWell, whaddaya say?â
You hesitated, âItâs a school night.â
âAnd Iâm not hearing a no.â
You exhaled, âFine. You get one hour. But thatâs it. And Iâll set a timer to make sure!â
He grinned the widest youâd ever seen, âPick you up at 7.â
He started running back toward his motorcycle, but you called after him, âWait, what are we doing on the date?! What do I wear?!â
âAnything! Actually, scratch that, preferably wear nothing.â He winked.
You rolled your eyes, âYouâre this close to getting cancelled on, Barnes! Donât push it!â
He just threw his head back and laughed.
You kept walking, annoyed, but couldnât fight the grin off of your face.
***
At 7:00 on the dot, you heard a motorcycle engine outside your house.
At least he was punctual.
You took one last look at your tank top and skinny jeans in the mirror before dashing off and out the door.
âI see you didnât follow my advice,â he motioned to your outfit as you stepped outside.
âIs that a problem?â
He grinned at you, âNot at all.â
He tossed an extra helmet at you and you caught it just in time before it could hit your face.
âNice catch,â he chuckled.
âVery funny. Where are we headed?â
âAw, now you donât expect me to just tell you out-right? Itâs a surprise, sweetheart. Donât worry about it.â
You slipped the helmet on and took his outstretched hand. He helped you onto the motorcycle and moved your arms to wrap around his.
âComfortable?â You teased.
âVery,â he purred, sliding his helmet back on.
He jolted the motorcycle forward without warning, attempting to make you jump with the fake-out.
âYouâre gonna have to try a lot harder than that to get me to jump.â
âDonât encourage me.â
Well, let the adventure beginâŚ
***
âAaaaand, right here,â he tugged on your hand and got you to stop next to him as you both looked out toward the moonlit playground.
âAfter weeks of build up, I give you one hour with me and you take me to a kiddie park?â
âHey, itâs not a kiddie park if thereâs no kids around!â He motioned around to the emptiness.
âCuz itâs past their bedtimes. And theyâre smarter than to go on dates with know-it-all bad boys who bring girls to parks. What do you plan on doing, vandalizing?â
âWould you relax?â he chuckled, stepping to face you head on, âIâm not sure if youâre familiar with this concept, but I brought you here to have fun. You seem to have forgotten what thatâs like.â
You narrowed your eyes at him. He narrowed his right back.
âCome, on, Doll, itâs really not-â
âAh!â You screamed as water spat up and hit you from behind, and you squealed, launching yourself forward and away from the sudden attack.
⌠And right into Buckyâs arms.
âWell, hello there,â he smirked, âHuh. I guess we must be standing in the water fountains area of the park⌠Wonder how that happenedâŚâ
You gaped, âYou got me to stand there on purpose, didnât you?â
He shrugged a shoulder, failing to fight back a grin, âMaybe. Maybe not. You canât prove anything.â
You shook your head, âOh, you are SO going to get it!â
He gave one more laugh before running off in the opposite direction. You chased after him, dodging and screaming as water spurted out of the holes irregularly.
He ran in circles, attempting to dodge you, ducking under one fountain stream and another. You couldnât reach him, but you tried to thwap and splash as much of the water towards him as you could.
You held your sides from laughter as he got on the ground and rolled, pretending the fountains were like lasers in a spy-action thriller.
You were so busy laughing that you hardly noticed when he stopped and started running directly at you. You screamed right before he body checked you, then lifted you up and over his shoulder.
âBucky, no!â you wheezed in between giggles.
He purposefully walked right in front of fountains, making sure to angle you and get you the most soaked as you kicked in protest.
He eventually put you down and you charged right back at him, knocking him to the ground along with yourself.
You landed on top of him, and one shared look sent you both into hysterics of laughter, the feeling of his chest rumbling beneath yours only making you smile brighter.
âYou are so full of it, Barnes,â you huffed, catching your breath.
âOh, am I?â he replied, but his usual cockiness dimmed as he looked at you, biting his lip slightly.
Your eyes slid to his lips and your breathing shallowed. It wouldâve been so easy to just lean down one more inch and close the distance, feel his lips on yours and see if he was really as good at kissing as you had been imagining him to be.
You reached up slowly and threaded a hand through his long hair.
He hummed into the feeling, contentedness flickering in his eyes and stretching across his mouth in a smile. And suddenly, he was just too beautiful. Him, lying beneath you, so peacefully content, was just too beautiful that you couldnât avoid it anymore.
You stared in his eyes for one last moment before moving forward and connecting your lips.
Fountains bubbled up around you, splashing you with cold water, but you hardly noticed.
It began tentatively, with gentle care and simplicity.
But as the kissâs length grew on, it became harder, hungrier.
Bucky sat up, guiding your arms to reach around his neck as he reached around your waist. You slid your legs forward and wrapped them around him, pressing yourself as close as possible as the kiss picked up steam. He let his hands slide further down your back as you drug your nails through his hair.
He gasped slightly against your lips, and you grinned, kissing him harder.
It wasnât until the fountain directly beneath you went off that you finally broke apart for air.
You chuckled quietly, nuzzling your head into his neck and biting back the massive grin across your face.
You heard Buckyâs chest rumble with a chuckle and pulled back to look at him.
He motioned to his watch, displaying the numbers 7:58, âIt appears that Iâve used my whole hour up. You still sure you wanna go back to studying Calculus right now?â
âJust shut up,â you rolled your eyes, grabbing his collar and kissing him again.

You tapped your foot, one hand digging into your coat pocket to try and return some heat into it while the other held your phone to your ear. You stared down at the road as the dial tone rang at the other end, waiting for someone to pick up. Cars drove by you without a care of your steaming car, or the open bumper. Finally, a click sounded and a voice spoke into the receiver.
âBrooklyn 24/7 Auto Repair, how can I help you?â The man sounded cheerful, almost too much so, compared to how crappy you were feeling. You didnât blame him. You would have been happy too if your feet were in a pair of dry shoes.
âYes hi. Uh, my car broke down and I donât know whatâs wrong with it.â You shouted into the phone over the noise of the passing traffic.â
âDonât worry, Ma'am. Where are you?â

The morning is calm, you are awake before Bucky, stepping to him to look at his wound. Gently you pull the cover off his body and undress the wound.
It has stopped bleeding and Eir seems to like this man because there is no infection. You stand up and get the balm again, rubbing it on his wound and bandage it again.
Kneeling beside him you muster him again. He looks relaxed, much different from earlier. Blue eyes are hidden by eyelids with long lashes and you realize how handsome he really is. His jawline sharp and strong, giving him a natural edge.
His left arm is tattooed with different designs and you canât hold yourself back from touching his skin and tracing the ink. They are beautiful and perfectly fitting into each other. You donât doubt that every swirl and line has a story behind it. And you would love to know them.

Twelve years later
The precinct was just as busy as it had always been, officers and civilians alike bustling around, coffee brewing in shitty old coffee makers, conversation flowing through the air, papers rustling as they were scanned, stuffed into files, signed and sent off. The phone at Steveâs desk was still ringing by the time Bucky got back to his desk. He gritted his teeth in annoyance, feeling a stab of pain in his forehead. He couldnât believe someone could be so insistent. He glared at Steve from across the bullpen, hoping the heat in his gaze would be enough to make him turn around and walk to his desk to answer the call. But it wasnât.
He let out a sigh of relief when the ringing stopped, shuffling through some papers at his desk. Bucky nearly ripped them in half when the phone started ringing again.

You loved going to the movie theater, every part of it. The smell of popcorn and butter when you stepped inside, the peopleâs excitement. Since you were a little kid, that was a magical place for you. You saw your favorite movie in a movie theater, you had your first kiss there. It was definitely your favorite place in the world. You went there when you were happy, sad, lonely, anxious or just because you felt like it. You never minded about going more than once to see the same movie, sometimes you stayed there the whole day, making double or triple sessions, and every employee knew you. Every time you left the movie theater, you felt like a whole different person, with a whole new perspective.
Since Lakewood had been struck by murders again and again, the townâs movie theater was where you spent most of your days when you werenât at school. And that was the place where you met Audrey Jensen. One of the survivors of the Lakewood slashers, employee of the place and probably one of the most beautiful girls you had ever seen.
Every time you saw her, your palms got sweaty and you didnât know what to do, what led to you always making a fool of yourself in front of her: rambling, stuttering and staring were normal things.
You were going to see a new horror movie that was in exhibition and were excited for it. Horror wasnât your favorite genre or anything, but you thought it was going to be a good one.
You got your ticket, went to buy popcorn and there she was. Instantly, you started feeling nervous. Still, you made your way to the line and waited until it was your turn.
âSo, Y/N, what can I get you?â She asked when you made to the front of the line.
âHuh, just a small popcorn, please.â While she was making your request, you watched her and hoped it wasnât too creepy. She looked so good in that uniform.
Audrey made her way to you and handed you the popcorn. âDo you want something to drink?â
You got so distracted that when she asked you, you blurted out âChocolate milk.â The way she arched her eyebrows and laughed made you want to hide forever. âGod, sorry. Just water.â You put the money on the counter and ran away when she handed you the bottle of water.
You really wanted to concentrate on the movie, but every time you tried to pay attention, your mind drifted of to what happened to Audrey. You thought you could never see her again and would probably have stop going to your favorite place in the world, or you would just die of embarrassment.
The movie was good, even though you were able to watch only a part of it. When you were about to get out of the movie theater, someone caught your arm.
âHow was the movie?â Audrey inquired when you turned around to face her.
âIt was good.â You barely stuttered out.
âSo, I was thinking⌠ maybe we could go out someday, maybe watch a movie.â She said and all you could do was stare at her. The gorgeous girl you had a crush on was actually asking you out. Was that a joke?
You hope you didnât pause too much before answering, âYeah, I would like that.â She smiled at you and you two settle a day to go out together.
Even after the night had a few embarrassments for you, which was normal, it had been a good one. One of the many good nights you had in that movie theater.
I take requests!
Dear everyone who is currently working on a Thing, whatever that Thing may be,

He musters you just the same and you straighten up, not wanting to show him that you are scared. A slightly amused smirk plays on his lips before he takes a deep breath and presses his left hand on his waist, groaning softly. He looks up at you again after his pain grew less. âWhere is your husband?â
