            “ geez , of course he would do this to me ! ”   

       there is a pout , whether it was real or not was hard to tell .  either way , she really was irritated .  if she had known he was going to be busy all day she would have found some way to fill her day , but last-minute made things a bit difficult .   taking a seat , she huffs a bit as she straightens out her skirt .  well , now would be as good of a time as ever to get to know liam … they were always stuck in situations like these .  not to mention , perhaps she could use it to her advantage later .

            “ yes , i do not have anywhere better to be … what about you ?  why are you waiting here if you suggest otherwise ? ”

     ❛ I have a feeling that Richard would rather spend time with you as opposed to being stuck in a room with Kai for hours ... ❜ Not once in his life has Richard ever tried to hide his displeasure even when Kai’s name was simply mentioned but when it came to Colette, his attitude did a complete 180. Richard and Colette certainly were close weren’t they ... ? Well, he supposed it made sense, considering that they were childhood friends but in some ways, it made Liam a bit envious.

      ❛ ... IF you’re looking for Richard then he’s currently in a meeting with Kai ... which will probably go on for a few hours or so. ❜ From what Liam’s gathered from the past meetings, it was initially supposed to be simple strategy meeting to discuss their next plans for the upcoming mission but it always somehow escalated into a heated disagreement which then led to one thing to another. It was a wonder how these two got any work done together but alas, they were both essential to the plan so they had no choice but to make a decision at some point. So here Liam was, forced to wait it out until god knows when. 

      oh ,  that was it ,  huh ?  the assassin simply stares .  ‘ mm .  well ,  it ain’t pity .  just a pal’s worry .  ain’t’cha mom ,  though ,  an’ ya got all the friends ya could ever want with a guy like myself ,  so consider yourself in luck even without any a’ the effort ! ‘  contemplation turns into a cheesy grin -   at least between the two of them ,  the assassin wouldn’t hesitate to admit his own occasional need for interaction .  ‘ ain’t gotta be popular ta have a bit a’ fun .  no worries ,  no worries ~  …  an’ besides ,  ya ask me ,  ya happen ta be plenty more reasonable than some a’ the other rich snobs around .  good on ya ! ‘

     ❛ ... THE idea that I would end up settling for someone as easy as you makes it feel a bit futile. Why are you so insistent anyways ? You have other friends, don’t you ? ❜ With that being said, it wasn’t as if Kai actually held any resentment for the other. The Assassin had been nothing more than a complete nuisance all this time and it wasn’t as if he’s actually done anything that would warrant any hatred but could he at least be less aggravating ? It was something that Kai could live without. If it weren’t for the continuous shenanigans then perhaps Kai would at least be more open to having a civilized conversation with Yan Qing more than occasionally. As of right now however, Kai continued to remain reluctant with the idea of accepting his offer of friendship but it wasn’t as if hew was against it. 

oh my ! you’re makin’ me blush ! is there anything i can help you with ? oh, and what would your name be !

“Expect anything out of it? I only suggested a walk, not that you take me out to dinner. Do people usually expect something from you on walks?” Nix hoped that wasn’t the case since she honestly was just wanting to help Kai get some fresh air. Sometimes all you needed was some space with peace and quiet to clear your head. So the silverette lead the way away from the others to a more quiet area instead. “Is this better?”

     ❛ UGH, that’s hardly what I meant. What I’m trying to say is that don’t expect any heart-to-heart that you’ve been trying to achieve but that aside, I suppose so, yes. ❜ Kai was well aware of her good intentions but this was also the perfect opportunity for her to get him to open up about himself and that wasn’t an idea he was fond of. At the very least, he would have a peaceful space to clear his head in.  

       ‘ ho ~ ?  naw ,  i just think ya real awkward .  without somethin’ goin for ya ,  you’re not gonna be able ta make any new friends ! ‘  and in a place like this the other certainly should have cared about that .  ‘ it’s fine ,  though —  i’ll always be around ta bother ya ! ‘

     ❛ ... ❜ Kai was painfully aware of his pathetic social situation and for Yan Qing to make mention of it was more than enough to strike a pained nerve. He clicked his tongue and averted his gaze to the side.

       ‘ well ,  ya sure say that ,  but … ‘  there were the gamblers ,  the hoarders ,  the mammonish ,  the A-rank lucksters …  ‘ guess it just helps a guy stand out .  don’t care for that either ? ‘

“I’m going to guess yes.. Perhaps I can help you out. How about we go take a look around together? Get your mind off things and away from people that grate on your nerves.”

       ‘ ha ~ ?  ya sayin’ a posh-talker like yaself’s broke now ? ‘  he’s just going to ignore the not liking him part .  that was irrelevant !  ( even if it was the other’s entire point ,  or something . )
