Dun Dun Dunnnnn

As I enter my dorm, I hear some chewing sounds. I suspect it's Wendy again. "Takka, your rat's chewing on the power cables," I call.

No response, except for a rustling sound where I suspect Wendy is hiding- in the crack between Takka's bed and his nightstand. The boy himself is most likely outside. I roll my eyes and walk towards the chewing sound. Why I have to care for my roommate's rat is beyond me. "Wendy, you'd better-"

I meet a pair of deep brown eyes. Wendy has red ones. Obviously it's not her. No, it's Takka, and he's sitting in the corner of our room, gnawing like a dog on... a blue stick.

"What are you doing?" I'm incredulous.

"Shark Brick," Takka answers mid-chew. "Want a bite?" He offers me the stick and looks at me expectantly.

"N-" Actually, the Shark Brick looks pretty good. I've always wanted to feel the thrill that dogs do when chewing on bones. "Fine."

I take a bite. I was right. The Shark Brick tastes amazing. It has a pretty good texture too. I wish I were a dog. Then I could experience this daily.

Takka beams from his spot on the floor, and I sit down as well, still chewing on the blue stick.

"This is amazing," I tell him.

Takka grabs the other end and starts chewing as well. "I know," he says.

Five minutes later...

The door to our door opens. Probably Lillian. She's the only other person who has a key. I keep chewing on the Shark Brick. It's really that good. My jaw is tired, but my mind forbids me from stopping. I don't care.

Lillian scans the room and spots us in a matter of three seconds. She smiles, but I barely get to see her dimple before her expression changes to disgust. "What the fuck are you doing?"

Aw yes blue cheese ask!!!! (don't mind the late answer I was camping lol)

Lillian: She's the resident cheese enthusiast. Her favorite cheese is blue cheese (specifically Gorgonzola Dolce). She is the reason that everyone has opinions on this really weird topic.

Okay, onto her actual opinions. Lillian's very interested in medicine. Being a cheese enthusiast, she also knows that the blue mold in blue cheese is Penicillium roquefort or Penicillium glaucum (sometimes). Either way, that mold is of the same genus as penicillin(Penicillium notatum). Lillian believes that it could be possible to create a type of blue cheese with Penicillium notatum instead of roquefort or glaucum, and make the antibiotic more accessible around the world.

She also thinks it's interesting how salt is used to prevent bad bacteria growth. (she relates this to cancer, but I don't want to go too deep lol)

Takka: Before Lillian, he just liked the idea of eating mold. However, you can't just say that when you're friends with a cheese enthusiast. Now, he's come to appreciate it because of the bold flavor and smell.

Elena: She has come into contact with blue cheese the 2nd most because she's Lillian's girlfriend. Luckily, she likes blue cheese as well. This is mainly because of the strong smell, and how it turns into an ammonia-like scent when expired.

I'll do this one about Adrian and Guinevere because... why not, I'm attached. I'm also going to ignore the "actually likes work" quirk for both of them lol

Adrian:

He works better lying down. He tries to keep up a good appearance, so it's surprising to his coworkers when they enter his office and see him "lying on his bed like a schoolgirl"

He has 11 piercings on his right ear

He bites his upper lip as a habit, so his lips are always chapped. It's also the reason he doesn't go full emo and wear black lipstick (along with the fingerless gloves, nail polish, and eyeliner)

Guinevere:

She has a passionate hatred for American food. She's Swedish, but spent 17 years in Indonesia and considers it home. When she went to America, she was shocked by how little its culture is reflected in its cuisine

She has a habit of moving her fingers like she's typing in the air
