Soy Diferente

Overwhelmed with gratitude for the opportunities to speak on different platforms in IFGF Surabaya. In my childhood, some people had prayed for me that I would become someone who speaks in front of many people. And I was a "kid liturgist" in the sunday service for adults. Such an achievement, hello? 😅 Later I worked on other things I believed God had called me to do and attended conferences/workshops to sharpen them, but my streams were never about "public speaking". When my mentors @dicven2308 and @tama_pakpahan provided me platforms to speak, I was affirmed again about this calling. Now I have the opportunity to learn from great communicators: pastors of @ifgfsurabaya and young preachers like @devintanuwijaya and @zefanya90 who keep on supporting and helping me to be more effective and stay humble. I tend to remind myself of things I should've or shouldn't have done, but the truth is I need to remind myself even more that I shouldn't even have spoken at @ifgfconference in the first place if it wasn't by the grace of God. Just as a friend of mine, bung @kerielaw said, "the most valuable thing I have learned is that we need to focus NOT on what we are doing but rather what God is doing in and through us" There is always a first time for everything. "See What God Can Do Through You" Exactly a year ago today, I attended Hillsong Conference 2016, a step of faith for our family. I believed God had a plan for me there. Thus I prayed, if God really called me there, I expected great things to happen, like getting closer to my purpose (a reason why I'm in #ifgfsby now) and added "I've been attending #ElevationChurch online for years, but never met Ps @stevenfurtick directly, I want to meet him." Arbitrary, I know. While I followed my friend's itinerary, I carried my notebook and marker EVERYWHERE I went, believing that PERHAPS I would meet him somehow and somewhere. "Only God can send the rain, but He expects you to dig a ditch", right? (Didn't know that Ps Steven would go back for the completion of the new Ballantyne Campus building the day after he spoke at HC) And this photo said the rest. I am not always right in my attempt to listen to God's voice, but I always give my best trying to listen through the Bible, the alive and active Word of God. I go after it. In #SticksAndStones, Ps Steven said, "That's what I hope people say about me as a preacher, "You know he wasn't always the smartest, his jokes weren't always funny and sometimes he screamed a little too much and we had to wear earplugs to listen to him while he preached, but that boy WENT AFTER IT."" I guess that's what I hope too (at Sydney Opera House)

Few days ago, I talked with a friend from intercessory prayer team. We discussed quite a number of topics and then he shared a story about his "unexplained conviction". As he got more specific, I told him "I experienced that too". I said, after a certain event, there is this part of me questioning whether at the time I did hear from God or I just made it up like many people had told me, with or without me asking for their opinions. He then said, "maybe our conversation today is God's way of telling you to erase that doubt and believe that it was really Him". "Even when the end result is like this?" "Yes" "Even if in people's eyes I had ruined my own reputation with my own hands?" "Yes" Now this is something, because neither of us ever brought up this topic to our close friends here. I didn't because it was years ago, felt so stupid and is not worth mentioning. This talk is truly an unexpected "scar shaping" appointment before I start doing ministry in Surabaya. I don't know WHY, but I do know WHO
