you didn’t realize you had company. she’s surprisingly light on her feet, that princess peach. wiping sweat from your brow, you turn to face her royal highness and give her a little wave before setting the weaponry in question down. part of you feels you ought to give a bow– countless etiquette lessons drilled into your head by your grandfather ( a curmudgeonly old man who took one look at you and decided you needed so much ‘fixing’ to be deemed worthy of his title ) demand it… as well as ones from long, long ago, from when you were small and the world around you seemed so much brighter and beautiful.
fungoso is uncharted territory, however. there may be beauty out there yet, beyond fodlan’s borders. and discovering that beauty would start with befriending your foreign housemate. ( or the soft, pretty woman could be poisonous at her core, and you’ll know exactly what to expect in the future, should her kingdom intersect with yours. )
“how long have you been sitting there, peach? i didn’t notice you come in!”
Peach hoped she hadn’t startled him; she had wanted to announce her presence earlier but he had seemed so concentrated that she didn’t want to distract him. He pulled the string of his bow, only to release and hit the target dead center. It was impressive; target after target he hit the bulls-eye had it been a person, he would have impaled them through the heart. The thought made her a little sick so she stopped imagining the targets as people.
❛ You’re welcome, ❜ she replied with a beaming smile, closing the book of magic study on her lap so she could dedicate her attention to Claude. When he questioned her presence, she blushed. ❛ A while. I wanted to see who was training today... ❜ She was trying to gather up the courage to ask for help. Magic and healing is where she excelled but when it came to weapons... she was clumsy. ❛ I hope I’m not bothering you. I just thought praise was due, you hit every single bulls-eye. ❜ She sounded excited, she had silently been cheering him on.
She was a quiet girl, so far she had notyet befriended anyone within her house or any other house. The fact of the matter was that she was terrified Peach had grown up with very little interaction with other people so her inexperience was obvious when she tried to talk to others. ❛ Sorry if I’m bothering you, I could leave if you’d prefer to be alone. ❜
