Yeah, most civilians are not Hamas, but they don't denounce them either. Palestinians call them freedom fighters, protectors.
because the resistance is not a bunch of evil, violent outliers; they are as much victims of the occupation as the women, children, and non-combatants are. Most if not all of them were born under the occupation; a good percentage of them are also orphans.

not to be a pedant but this sort of post annoys me so bad bc āļøāļø in fact itās the reverse: fantasy series often reflect societal biases. there is nothing evolutionarily āmenacingā about wasps in comparison to bees. bees have better PR because we like to eat the stuff they make. thatās literally it. āagur only destructionā as if wasps donāt fill many of the SAME ecological roles as bees. theyāre pollinators! they CREATE!!
people just assign moral value to living beings based on their own feelings and aesthetic choices. something thatās very common in fiction and one of the fantasy genreās most notable flaws.
Always remember that the EU did a study in 2013 about the effects of piracy on media publishers and found that there is no correlation between piracy and sales! (And then they tried to hide that study bc that's not the result they wanted)
So piracy is at worst not even a problem, and at best it's free advertisement.

Today was a horrid day for one Miorine Rembran. Her training, her preparations, were never meant to be used, and they often werenāt needed. The missions she guided often went without a hitch. Of course, on the one where she actually cared about who she was guiding, something had to go wrong. Miorine gripped the table in front of her, the small, thin microphone pointed directly at her mouth. Her lips were left in a tense line, stress betraying her expression for the first time in a while, in public at least. Sure, this room was heavily secure, only surrounded by her mission control peers, and even still, she tended to keep a fair amount of distance from her colleagues. But now, she couldnāt hide the stress she felt for another human being. She didnāt think she could ever feel like this again, after her mother died and her father essentially abandoned her, seeing her as a poor heir for his military industrial empire.
In fact, before recently, she would wake up in the morning, head into work, practice at her station, do whatever benign paperwork she was assigned, then go home. She didnāt need anything else. That was until her team was introduced to the astronauts they would be guiding. Most were the same sorry batch of researchers she couldnāt care less about, but oneā¦
The tall woman with braided red hair, Suletta Mercury. When she introduced herself to Miorine for the first time, it was with an intense warmth and kindness that she almost blushed at. Of course, fate would have it that she would be assigned to this woman who stole her attention so immediately. And, from what she could tell, it meant that she would probably have one of the most intensive jobs on the team.

so this is based on JAXA's Mercury Magnetosphere Orbiter named Mio (that GWitch actually officially collabed with!!) which should enter Mercury's orbit this year if all goes well

and for suletta i got inspo from this enhanced color photo from NASA's Messenger, an earlier Mercury mission. idk the exact science behind it,, it essentially took a photo with a wider spectrum of light and compressed it into the visual spectrum to better see the chemical/geological composition of the surface (?)

i know the floating-in-space pieces flop compared to domestic fluff/angst etc but i really liked of this one. i hadn't drawn in a while and my idea was honestly beyond my actual capability, but it was so fun to play with it. suletta's mercury skin & dress were definitely my favorite to do, but i loved making the metal sheen on miorine too.
and character/costume design is a big weakness of mine so i like that it forced me to get creative (because when i say the first rendering attempts were rough,,,,,). the solar panel tutu especially, my single big brain moment of this piece
i think people are starting to confuse class analysis with bioessentialism. like... no not all men do this, but Men as a constructed social class do do this. that's still okay to say. that is regular material analysis of the world around us.
