Omg if their conversation was any indication of how their relationship is, ele must be so used to her mum cutting her off no wonder she was so surprised when edo actually showed interest in her and what she wanted. They will really be each other's family ugh
ugh god right?!!?! These two are taking the found family trope to a whole new level. Like even though Edo casually dropped that he essentially lives alone and has had to raise himself since his mom passed, you can tell that her absence is acutely felt. And Ele understands what that loss feels like, even if her’s isn’t permanent. Then we have Ele, who is so used to being a secondary priority for her mom, and must have spent most of her youth feeling overshadowed by Filo and the thought that her friends like him more than her. That’s why Filo’s comment to her about how his friends like him more when she’s around had her so surprised but also reluctant to believe it. Through the night we can see her telling Edo multiple times that she’s ok with leaving and taking a cab if he has someplace better to be, which no doubt is something she’s used to with her family. And then we have Edo who not only spends the whole night asking her what she wants and how he can help, but also doesn’t even entertain the idea of letting her grab a taxi so he can go party more. He was like “are you kidding?” and we see from her reaction that she’s completely thrown off. It’s the little things he does that has set the ball rolling. Ele approaches every moment they have last night with this caution, as if she’s barely holding her feelings back with a thread, and then almost seamlessly we see her softening and crying and fall more in love. He remembers the exact words she said to him over a year ago, he actively spends the night showing her that he listens to her and takes her words to heart, and that’s what really pushes her forward. For once she’s being prioritized and seen without some sort of expectation behind it. Even though they joke about how she won’t sleep with him and isn’t one of his conquests, there’s some seriousness to that. He doesn’t see her as this challenge or thing to win, he’s just happy being around her in whatever capacity that is, and for the first time we’re able to see her understand that. We’re able to see her genuinely smile for the first time this season and breathe for a night and its just everything to me.
