Graphic artist, print-maker and designer Anthony Burrill is known for his persuasive, up-beat style of communication.

Words and language are an important part of Burrill’s output and he has developed a distinctive voice that is sought after not only by collectors of his posters and prints but also by clients including Wallpaper* magazine, The Economist, The British Council, London Underground and The Design Museum. Burrill is perhaps best known for his typographic, text-based compositions, including the now-famous “Work Hard and Be Nice to People”, which has become a mantra for the design community and beyond.

Burrill was born in Littleborough, Lancashire. After studying Graphic Design at Leeds Polytechnic he completed an MA in Graphic Design at the Royal College of Art, London. He now lives and works on the Isle of Oxney, Kent.

“Anonym.us was a school project that spawned out of a challenge to create an identity for a new social network. Rather than make another Facebook I thought it would be interesting to brand a modern esoteric society for thieves. I decided to call my social network Anonym.us as a play on anonymous. Since it was a network for thieves I combined the letter A with a ski mask to create the logo. To keep inline with the theme of anonymity and thievery I contained the information on the business card within a safe dial, turned the letterhead into a modern treasure map, made the envelopes security deposit bags, and the style guide a blueprint.”

Justin Ross Tolentino (Juroto for short) loves making things! Logos, websites, doodles, noise, food, moves, jokes - doesn’t matter what it is really, because if there’s one thing he specializes in it’s turning ideas into reality. Kind of like a wizard except without the beard, robe, hat, and magic wand. Okay, perhaps a wizard was a bad analogy. Although it would be awesome if he could just wave his hands about and have pencils drawing by themselves, dancing to the beat of keyboards typing code, while he sats in his castle, sipping on some coffee from a dragon’s tooth goblet, coming up with ideas, but that’s a bit of a fantasy. For now, he does all the hard work himself from a quaint duplex somewhere in the San Francisco Bay Area.

“Louis Gillemon, a 19 years young entrepreneur asked us to develop a new brand of ‘Premium Gin’. Despite his young age, he has already accumulated lots of knowledge. With passion and a nose for business he created his ‘magical’ gin. We developed with Louis for Gillemore a visual concept with a content, mixing design, premium gin and lots of brand experience.“

Quote of the week by 55 Hi’s

55 Hi’s was started in 2010 by Ross Moody as a simple means of spreading inspiring quotes and quirky ideas. It has since spiraled out of control—in the best way possible—into an online greetings collective, of sorts. A destination for graphic goodness, tasteful typography, and artful alliteration.

At 55 Hi’s, sincere life lessons are laid delicately onto handmade french paper where they frolic joyfully, side-by-side, with cards that become shot glasses. Why? Because both of those things will make you smile, and smiling is a nice thing.

Branding and packaging for Amber by Oddds

“Amber, is a new brand identity and bottle packaging that envelops a blend of rustic folkish contemporary for a honey brand - nestled with dark greys, whites and yellowish browns. The ideation behind it is extracted from the process of fossilisation and presented by using transparent labels. 

These label treatments includes the overlaying of the transparent label onto “almost” still life objects onto a glass bottle; thus creating a see-through effect almost similar to translucent fossilised resin. Objects include herbs and botanical flora illustrating a coniferous tree and leaf. One of the bottles selected is amber in colour to reidentify the concept back to Amber. Amber is a limited resource and treasured just like honey at present times, in comparisons to the population of bees that are lessening than previously existing in the past.”

Oddds was founded in 2013 by designers based in Penang and Singapore respectively. Our main focuses are branding, art direction, graphic design etc. Our works reflects significantly on behaviours and futurism. We believe in aesthetics and how it draws attention and how it influences people.
