everything goes.
ripervinâ:
itâs all a blur. the music making the walls tremble, the intense drinking games she got herself roped into, the hands on her waist that most definitely did not feel like her boyfriendâs, everything else that followed. still, minseo clings onto that sliver of hope that sheâs wrong. that even though this touch is not familiar ( not in this sense, at least ), itâd still be barry beside her.
it isnât until he speaks that she realises just how bad of a situation she got herself into.
   her heart drops.
perhaps she shouldâve left as soon as she woke up two hours ago without sparing him a glance. ignorance is bliss after all. better a stranger than a friend. but theyâre more than just friends, which makes this far more worse.
â fuck. â she finally says after remaining silent for another moment, covering her face with her hands. there isnât much to process now that she spent two hours doing exactly that. and her conclusion ? if a hole opened up beneath them, sheâd gladly let it swallow her whole.
sure, theyâre on a break. but that hardly makes things any more acceptable, not with the five years of stability she just effectively tore down all with a single ( drunk ) decision.
she doesnât look at him when she turns to pick up her discarded shirt on the floor, putting it on with shaky hands. she still doesnât look at him when she sits up properly, running a hand through her dark hair. â we - that⌠jesus christ. âÂ
reality sets in quick. severity of the situation at hand. minseoâs perfume clings to him like sin, beckoning rolling waves of memories of night prior. body against body. hip against hip. tongue. teeth. heat. all without a second thought of who. where. why. hyejin.Â
it isnât out of the ordinary that his girlfriend comes to mind first. however alcohol ridden, mind hazed and inhibitions free, nothing nothing will excuse this. nothing will save him and her (the added twist that it had been minseo, it had been barryâs girlfriend is not a loss to him) from wrecking havoc on both of their relationships. and gunwoo is plagued with worry from the get-go. unadulterated fear that twists his insides. just how much heâs about to lose easily rings within his being.
he hardly regards her in his daze, hands resting uselessly in his lap. gunwoo is upright, but it feels as if the world is spinningâfast and slow all at once. merciless, his mind is quick to shuffle between piecing together last night to stressing over the future. what is in store for him. what hyejinâs reaction would be. gunwoo doesnât dare imagine it.
his eyes flick upward at her voice, swallowing around the dryness in his throat. âitâit never happened.â god, just saying the words makes him sick. âi mean, we shouldnât tell anyoneââ gunwoo shifts, unable to meet her eyes while his stomach lurches, tightens in disgust. this was never the plan. never the type of person he wanted to be.Â
âwe were drunk.â heâs grasping at straws. itâs not an excuse. âand weâre both on breaks in terms of our relationshipsâfuckââ he doesnât know what else there is to even say, hands reaching for his boxers. ânone of this wasnât supposed to happen.â
