An Affront To Your Ears And A Waste Of Your Time

So. Uh.

Good thing I have a phone because I looked this up and it turns out, I've fucked up the ORIGINAL harddrive… I must have jostled it or messed up the golden connectors because replacement hard drive could still be detected by the computer but not this one. I guess the worse case would have been fucking up the connectors ON the laptop itself which means absolutely no recovery aka this laptops shit's fucked but I still feel pretty shitty. I've completely destroyed a part of this computer by my hands. So I'm pretty much out of a laptop for a few months or more.

Is what I felt for a good part of the day. I guess I didn't feel as bad as I'd been because I did have a backup of my data. I also had a system image of the laptop and backup, also made a Windows recovery flashdrive. This didn't work when I tried restoring on the new drive but I was completely fucked anyway so I tried one more time.

Apparently the Windows USB thing doesn't work from the SD slot and needed to be on actual drive. Lots of hours of cursing and clenching my ass (frustrated by the repeated asking of a CD drive WHAT CD DRIVES YOU JERKS COLLECTIVELY GOT RID OF THEM YEARS AGO) and

After long hours I had fresh install. After few more, I even managed to get the old laptop from the system image.

So I got what I wanted in the first place. This laptop now a bigger drive. Happy ending right?

Except now the the fan is distressingly loud and the processor, what I can feel through the keyboard, is warm to touch. It was definitely quieter than before. Now I'm just worried that everything I did would for nothing and all that opening up, touching wires and cables, and constant screwing and unscrewing of parts might have messed up the inside more than if i had just left everything alone.

Oh, and I think CSP loads so slow because of the all the materials I stuffed and uploaded up on it. Not because of the processor or RAM. I guess I'll just try to appreciate the upgrades before it just shut offs from overheating. Like my old laptop.

It's ironic because I wanted to get these upgrades done so I could have peace of mind while using this thing but now I'm more worried! For other reasons!
