It makes me sad how much fandoms champion the idea of a “correct” reading of a piece of fiction. I’m mostly seeing this with the Deltarune fandom right now. The worst part is the harassment of anyone who dares have an interpretation of any part of a story that’s contrary to the most popular interpretation. It’s so stifling to creativity when one treats fiction as fact.
