You are the sibling of Guinevere. Yes, that one - the one married to King Arthur of Camelot. But you are not loved like your sister. While she has only ever been kind toward you (under false pretenses), the rest of your family and those at your family’s court have not. 

For you have only ever lived in her shadow… 

When your father disowns you and throws you out, your sister invites you to Camelot. But you soon realize that Camelot is not the sanctuary you believed, as war is brewing with the Saxons. 

What role will you play? A warrior, diplomat, or spy? Or, perhaps, you only want to survive. 

While in Camelot, you’ll have the opportunity to build relationships with various characters and decide how the war plays out.

Demo: TBD - probably not for a while! or it will be quite short at first. This is just a little side project and I don't want it to affect my other project.

Features:

Play as male, female, or non-binary;

Choose appearance, pronouns, and your personal creed;

Choose the reason your father disowns you;

Build relationships with various characters (platonic, romantic, familial). Or break relationships.

Decide whether you want to be a warrior, diplomat, or spy. Whether you care about your duties or only appear to care will be up to you.

Arthur Pendragon - The King

27 years old | he/him | male 

Arthur is your sister’s husband and the King of Camelot. He’s intelligent and protective of those he cares for. But he’s wary of most and getting close to him is not easy. He has to make some tough decisions. Will you encourage brutality to protect Camelot or insist there’s another way?

Lancelot du Lac - The Revered Knight

29 years old | he/him | male

Lancelot is a revered Knight of the Round Table and a dear friend to Arthur. He is fiercely loyal to Arthur and Camelot. This one has a temper and is ready and willing to drive his sword into those who would stand in Arthur’s way.

Merlin Emrys - The Court Enchanter

30 years old | xe/xem | non-binary

Merlin is the court enchanter. Sometimes a mentor to Morgana, other times their rival. Depends on the day. Xe prefers studying the arcane as opposed to dinner parties and dances.

Kay Ectorius - The Saxon Knight

24 years old | she/her | female

Kay is a friend to Arthur and a Knight of the round table. Although born a Saxon, she has long severed ties to her old life and considers Camelot and its court her home. She looks up to Lancelot and hopes to prove her abilities and dedication in a similar fashion.

Morgana le Fay - The Enchantress

23 years old | she/they | female

Morgana is Arthur’s half-sister and also the lover of Queen Guinevere, your sister. They are a powerful enchantress focused on keeping Camelot and those they care for safe.

Guinevere - The Queen 

26 years old | she/her | female

Guinevere is your sister and is married to Arthur. Although she views Arthur as a friend, and he views her the same way, their marriage is nothing more than that. She is only attracted to women and her lover is Morgana. Unless you decide to change that…

The ROs would be protective in their own way.

Reactions (warning: some assume touch is okay, reaction would vary for MC otherwise, also: fire):

Arthur - He notices the exhaustion in your eyes after Guinevere left "MC? Are you unwell?" A soft hum from your lips tells him yes. His own body was heating up from annoyance at your sister. But he didn't notice as he gently scoops you up and into his arms. "Let's get you to the bed, love. And then I'll grab you favorite pillows and a glass of water." Arthur glanced down at you. "And that book you love - I'll read it until you fall asleep." And then I'll find Guinevere and give her a taste of her own medicine, he thought.

Lancelot - "Hey! Time for you to leave," Lance growls as he steps in to shield you from your father. Bran glares at the Knight. "How dare you talk to a King like that!" Lancelot chuckles and takes step forward, his chest touching Bran's. "I dare much more than talking, Your Majesty. I suggest you leave before I do something you regret" he responds. The King sputters, unable to respond before giving you an annoyed look over Lancelot's shoulder and turning to leave. Lance turn to look at you. His face softens. "Want some fresh air in the garden?" You nod and he wraps a gentle arm around you shoulder, pulling you close so you can rest your weight on him. Fuck, I hate that guy, Lance thinks.

Morgana - You sigh at the feelings coming over you while your father talks. All things you've heard so often. You wish he'd leave Camelot so you could be in peace. Well, partial peace considering Guin's presence. "Dammit, are you listening to me, MC?" You meet your father's eyes but before you can respond he lets out a yelp and starts jumping around. Your eyes widen and you stumble back, bumping into something soft. "Help! I'm on fire!" Bran swats his arm sleeve as he struggles to get his robe off. You hear a soft giggle and look to your side. "How peculiar!" Morgana says. "You don't see that everyday, do you?" She winks at you before turning back to watching the flailing Bran.

Kay - Your eyes search for a way out. You're trapped with Guinevere and its already brining on a headache from her entitled demands. Guinevere grabs your sleeve, drawing your attention. "Listen when I talk to you," she says, annoyance flashing in her eyes. Her grip is broken by a lady Knight in shining armor. Kay glares at Guinevere, a look so severe that you shiver. "MC is needed elsewhere. I've come to retrieve them." Your sister rolls her eyes. "Whatever," she says before turning away. Kay turns to you with a bright smile. "Shall we?" You follow her out of the room, noticing how she glances at Guin on the way out with a balled up fist. The day will come.., Kay thinks to herself.

"Oh! MC is far too ill to travel," Bran tells them, pursuing his lips. "I hate leaving them in such a fragile way, but duty becomes before all."

Guinevere's eyes widen as her eyes land on you. "This is not what it looks like, sibling," she says, forcing a laugh and a saccharine smile.

What do you do?

Well, I'm not going to answer the first part because this is something that could happen in the game.

As for the second one, MC's mom wouldn't stand for it. She would verbally destroy him in public. But, if MC's mom was alive, would Bran be this way?

Hmmm.

Yes, Cameliard currently follows very traditional ideation when it comes to throne succession, marriage, and the like. Obviously, Guin and Arthur were an arranged marriage but Camelot is more progressive overall.

Morgana: painting - they aren't open about it though, candle making

Arthur: stargazing, swimming

Lancelot: fistfighting (catch him at the pub in the fighter's circle), reading

Kay: horseback riding, baking

Merlin: flora and fauna, writing

I don't have a giveaway planned right now as I'm doing one this weekend on my discord but I'll probably do one when the demo drops.

Guinevere's half sister is named Gwenhwyfach, with Gwenhwyfar being her supposed evil twin sister

Guinevere only has one brother as far as I could tell, and his name is Gotegin, but a variation of his name exists as Gotegrim. He's an antagonist in the story he's featured in.

Finally her cousin, who is mostly known for being a lover to Morgana, and his name is Guiomar

Hey! These ARE cool and interesting lmao, thanks for sharing! I'm planning to use some names like this (I just hadn't done the research yet lol) so I will definitely consider these as part of the pre-set name suggestions. I'm also going to add some Roman names too since MCs mom is Roman and probably a couple Welsh names based on meanings I like.

I so didn't know about Guimar so now I'm pretty curious to look that up and read about it!!

hmmm had to think about this.

there will definitely be an optional revenge ark and opportunities to get back at people. Camelot and the ROs are part of the story though. You won't be forced to "care" for them but you also can't just seek revenge and do absolutely nothing else lol

Arthur was definitely confused. He asked Bran more questions. Him and Guin essentially made it seem like they kingdom would fall into ruin and people would suffer horribly. Arthur agreed but was still hesitant. Once he meets MC, he will definitely be rethinking the alliance and will have more questions.
