“—yeah, mine’s kind of more for my ‘outpouring’ of emotions, just as most diaries usually function.”

“I don’t think I’ve heard it called a diary before. What does it look like?”

“Data’s more of a blanket term. Some people on the ship kept them for recording things they found, or just what happened that day kind of thing.”

“Isn’t it beautiful?”

“Yeah, it’s beautiful. Do you know what kind it is?”

“ ooh, i could! oh, poo, now if only he was here.. “

“He could show up. People seem to do that. I did”

“ ya know… i never thought of it. maybe i could call ‘im my boyfriend. i dunno how he’d feel ‘bout it, though. “

“You could ask him. “

“ i wouldn’ exactly call him that, darlin’, but i s’pose he’s pretty close. “

“What would you call him then?”

“ ‘s pretty lovely if ya ask me. i mean, finally gettin’ away from all that mean ol’ city life. i’m jus’ upset that my puddin’ isn’t here to see it.  “

“Puddin’? Oh, you mean your boyfriend?”

“I guess it’s not so bad. Better than some places I’ve been”

“I can see that, obviously.”

“I don’t think anyone here can tell you much of anything. If there was I’d let you know who to talk to”

“Now that all the excitement is over, this place feels rather boring. At least in the Glade we had jobs to do to keep us busy.”

“The Glade?”

“Okay, where the actual hell am I? Is this a joke? Did my dad send me here so I wouldn’t move out for my last year in college? It’s bad enough he almost killed my adoptive son, but now sending me off to an unknown island? Now, that is just sick!”

“We’re on some sort of island. Other than that I don’t know what’s going on”

“Would someone mind to fill me in on just what the fuck exactly happened? Maybe even where I am and what the fuck I’m doing here?“

“Were you not at the houses?”

Wednesday just nodded and started to try and stand up, “Yeah, I don’t want this to get infected or anything but it would be just my luck if it did.”

As she started to stand he moved to help her stand, wrapping an arm around her waist to keep her balanced as well. “This would all be so much better if we weren’t in this century” 

“What the hell is Starfleet?” She scoffed and shook her head, “Unless you’ve got something to clean up dried blood, something to heal a burn, and bandages, I don’t think you’re gonna be of much help.”

“A peace keeping branch of the United Federation of Planets designed to explore planets and cultures.” he gave her the short answer for what Starfleet was. He looked down at his clothes, some of them tattered from the explosion, and he started to tear off the rest of a piece of his shirt that seemed to be barely hanging on. “We need some water and I can at least clean up the blood, get a better look at what’s all wrong.” 

This is not wasteland, where am i? Has anybody seen somebody named Oswald?
