i would say that for all people, even social introverts, in terms of cognitive functions, you tend to notice the extroverted functions first. and i would say that this is the case for eddie as well. i feel like his personality at first glance comes off as strict, regimented, focused on achieving results ("you do whatever you can to get results"), which to me is indicative of the presence of Te. it seems like he analyzes the facts and what he sees in front of him, more objective than subjective, hence the extroverted thinking.

although he has strong Te, it's not like his Fi (introverted feeling) is weak at all. it seems like his approach to man management is based on his own feelings and experiences from when he was a player. thus he derives these "morals" internally rather than externally, and he also doesn't care to adapt them to others - if he thinks something is right, he'll do it regardless of what people think.

this balance of Te-Fi suggests either ISTJ or INTJ, and personally i lean towards the latter. despite his seeming penchant for routines in his personal life, which could suggest Si, the way he approaches football doesn't seem to signal the same.

he acknowledges the importance of repeating sessions (relying on past experiences to draw conclusions) while saying that he still prefers to come up with new ideas and innovate, which to me signals N > S. Ni is also (stereo)typically associated with long-term vision and being future-oriented, which to me shows in things like the story below.

to be honest evidence for this one is a bit more scarce, because as i mentioned earlier the extroverted functions are the most visible ones whereas Ni (and Si as well) operate more in the background. or maybe it's just a skill issue on my part lol who knows! anyway, all that is to say my conclusion for eddie's 4-letter typing is INTJ.

in terms of enneagram this one is actually super easy lol. he's such a stereotypical enneagram 1 it's kind of funny, like you read the description on the official website and just go "yep". ennea 1s have a focus on leaving their mark in the world, making a positive change. just look at these two images together:

in terms of instinctual variants the social 1 i think is also obvious; enneagram 1 is about attaining perfection, but his focus is primarily on others (hence the social bit), he places a huge importance on player development which aligns with the so1 desire to "foster the growth of individuals". finally, in terms of wing 9 vs wing 2, i personally view him as more of a w9 due to his demeanor being more withdrawn and detached, not getting Too close to his players for example and maintaining that professional distance. but ymmv.

i will be straight up with you and say that i initially found it pretty hard to type an assistant manager who barely gives personal interviews and for whom the majority of information you hear about secondhand in journal articles and the like. however. i have come to some conclusions that i will proceed to discuss now

we know that jason is apparently outgoing, extroverted, likes to be the center of attention (insert twitter account here) among other things. of course these traits are not indicative in and of themselves of any cognitive functions, but through (essentially) vibe-typing you can definitely start to get an idea of what he might be. we also know that he is very reactive to what he sees during games, always analyzing and adapting. this is most like Se which is very grounded in the moment and in the real world, and Se also matches up with that sort of party-boy vibe everyone tends to describe him as.

then taking for granted jason being a Se-dom, the next step is to figure out whether he is on the Fi-Te (ESFP) or the Ti-Fe (ESTP) axis. and for me i would lean very heavily towards it being Ti-Fe. beneath all that extroverted exterior is a "sharp football brain" and an intense work ethic. i have attached a description of SeTi below that i think fits him very well

and then to add to that, i think Fe manifests in his jovial and laid-back nature, extroversion, being the link between the coaching staff and the players, etc etc. so there we can conclude, perhaps a bit tentatively but anyway, jason being an ESTP.

for enneagram it took me a while to work out but once it finally clicked last night (which is the reason i'm writing this post) i was like, god literally of course. anyway i believe he's a social 8. he doesn't care about what anyone thinks, he will gladly play the role of the villain in order to protect those he cares about.

and take some quotes from the social 8 description:

"...the Social Eight is also oriented toward protection and loyalty. They express lust and aggression in the service of life and other people... Social Eights are more loyal, more overtly friendly, and less aggressive... this individual’s main drive is for something like loyalty."

lol @ how loyalty is mentioned in the description three times. i don't think i need to elaborate on how well that one fits him. anyway, in terms of wings, i think w7 is clearly the optimal choice over w9 just because of his more visible outgoing demeanor as we've mentioned earlier.

time for more waffle yay!! the whole reason i started to try and figure out their personality types in the first place was because i was so intrigued at how they were always described as "yin & yang", "opposites attract", etc., and i wondered how those things corresponded. so.

in terms of cognitive functions, i think it's pretty interesting. you have eddie the Ni-dom and jason the Se-dom, which is literally almost as "opposite" as you can get. now because Ni-doms are Se-inf and Se-doms are Ni-inf, you can interpret this as them potentially complementing each other's weak spots, which makes a lot of sense as to how they can bring the best out of each other. but it also might represent how easily they apparently can argue, as they're not likely to view things the same way at first or have the same ideas. this can also probably be attributed to them being Te- and Ti-aux respectively as well - they likely have different methods of coming to conclusions, but that means they can offer each other different perspectives too.

in terms of enneagram, it's a bit less like putting the puzzle pieces together and more of like, how their desires and motivations align i guess?? i honestly think the official website explains it pretty much perfectly so i'm just gonna put that here
