This might be the scariest thing Iāve ever seen
Next up someone is going to claim that the Narnia series isn't kids books.
Kids books is probably not the best way to word it, you can enjoy them at every age, including your childhood, as you get older you may find new truths in them, but they're still good for any age.
I want you to understand this. I NEED you to understand this. My mother read me the hobbit as bedtime story, and I started pushing myself to read before pre-school so I could in fact read the hobbit for myself instead of having to wait for bedtime.
I didn't do so right away but jesus wept I PUSHED myself to learn to read SPECIFICALLY so I could read The Hobbit! It is, in fact, a children's story! And children only see page count as 'there is a lot of this fun story to read!'
"Spider-Man New York Stories: The Fashion Consultant" āØļø A funny and lighthearted Spider-Man and The Nanny crossover story, by yours trulyāØļø
A story for the 90's people! In case you don't know, The Nanny was a 90s TV show, starring Fran Drescher, which took place in New York! So... of course I had to write this.
I started this story almost a year ago šāØļø I need to be faster when making comics HAHAHAAHHS
You can read it here or in my zine!

With the whole "Markiplier making his own DVD copies of Iron Lung to sell" thing, it's been fascinating and slightly concerning how many people seem to genuinely believe that if a physical release isn't coming from a giant corporation, it must automatically be a bootleg.
Look at me.
Look me directly in the eyes while I say this.
You can just make things.
You can simply create something and put it into the world.
That's allowed.
People have been doing it for centuries.
They sell blank VHS tapes. They sell blank DVDs. Blank CDs. You can buy flash drives by the bucketful if you really want to. If you create a movie, an album, a game, a documentary, or a four-hour video essay about the mating habits of fictional space goblins, you are entirely permitted to put that thing on physical media and sell it.
That is not piracy.
Piracy is taking something that belongs to someone else and reproducing or distributing it without permission.
If I buy a DVD of a movie, I own that copy of the movie. I do not own the movie itself. I didn't acquire the rights to duplicate it, press a thousand copies, and start selling them out of my garage like I've become the regional distributor for Warner Bros.
The copyright, distribution rights, and intellectual property still belong to whoever created it or whoever legally acquired those rights.
If I start burning copies of Iron Lung and selling them myself without Markiplier's permission, that's piracy.
If Markiplier, who made and owns the rights to Iron Lung, burns copies and sells them himself, that's just distribution.
He's the rights holder.
He's distributing his own work.
If you made it, if it came from your own mind, your own work, your own time, your own resources, then congratulations. You own the thing. You don't need a corporation to bless it with legitimacy.
The corporation is not what makes it real.
The fact that it exists is what makes it real.
I think we've accidentally spent so many years living inside a world dominated by mass-produced media that some people have developed the strange assumption that all media emerges from a factory somewhere. As if films naturally occur in shrink-wrapped plastic cases and descend from the heavens aboard a pallet truck.
But independent artists have been burning discs, dubbing tapes, printing books, pressing records, and mailing things directly to people for longer than many of us have been alive.
That's not a bootleg.
That's just a product.
It's not "bootleg."
It's just... leg.
The normal kind.
The original, free-range, locally sourced leg.

Spoider-man
the way spider-man 2 uses scenes from mjās play to develop the themes of the movie is so special to meā¦
like the name of her play is literally āthe importance of being earnestā. aka like the number one thing peter canāt do w mj, whether itās his double life as spider-man being the reason he often isnāt there for the other people in his life or his feelings for mj.
the first scene we see of her play is her mentioning that another character āinspires credulityā. She gets distracted upon noticing peter is not at her play, mistakenly says āyesā, and immediately corrects her line to say ānoā. itās very representative of how she sees peter throughout the movie. she wants to keep holding out for him and keep believing in him, but at a certain point when he continuously proves to be an āempty seatā or continuously gives signals that he likes her without the willingness to commit to them, she knows that logically she canāt keep waiting for him.
the second scene we see of her play is talking to a man who is āwickedā but may have been pretending to ābe goodā the whole time, and the camera pans to peter as she says that. because obviously from mjās perspective peter seems like such a jerk, but with the context of peter being spider-man, itās so much more clear to her the burdens he holds and the things he sacrifices to live a life of āgreat responsibilityā.
and the line she says abt hypocrisy is very important to me as well. bc even when mj finds out peter is spider-man and he rejects her yet again, she chooses to leave her wedding for peter. because now that she has the context that we as the audience have, she doesnāt think itās fair to peter or his loved ones that he tries to push away for him to be shouldering these burdens on his own, when people like mj are willing to be there and face the future with him.
itās why i cant take people seriously when they act like mj is a ābitchā or āunreasonableā when the movie spends so much time developing mjās internal conflict. itās so clear that those ppl only paid attention to the cool action and turned their brains off for the actual substance this movie has.
