How to be...
Inspiration sometimes hits you. I am now sitting in a boeing 737-700 flying directly to Tijuana, on the back of the airplane, on seat 25C. Most of the time, when I go to bookstores, there is a section with titles like: "How to become a millionaire", "How to become rich", "How to make a million dollars in a month", "Seven laws of power" and things like that. And I think that that kind of books are for the herd, for people with little insight or narrow minded. We are in times where being selfish will not pay-off, where we have to act together to make meaningful changes around us, where we have to think how our actions affect others. We have to be more conscious of our acts, and surroundings. We should be looking for books with titles like: "How to become a useful person among your community", "How to be more conscious", "How to cultivate your values", "Find your talents and change the planet". This might sound like a cliche, but we are so blind by the media dictating us a model of living, that we lost track of the things that really matters. For example: we don't need a body of a greek God, we only need to be healthy. The only thing that really matters here on Earth is: how you can help others with your skills, and talents, how can you make small improvements in your skills and talents or how to get a new one. How to improve your surroundings. A good friend of mine agree that there are a lot of things that can be done to make tons of money; but we also agree that if at some point we want to start a business, it will be something meaningful, something that adds value to people lives, and to find that kind of business you have to be very conscious about the world you live in, the problems that exists and the people who lives in it and that is more difficult. What I am trying to say, is that becoming a millionaire, more powerful, or successful are not goals we should have, because they are selfish. Becoming useful for our community, more knowledgeable, more conscious about our role on the world, and leave behind a better place to live should be the goals we seek.
Carl Sagan // “In a cosmic perspective, most human concerns seem insignificant…And yet our species is young and curious and brave and shows much promise. In the last few millennia we have made the most astonishing and unexpected discoveries about the Cosmos and our place within it… They remind us that humans have evolved to wonder, that understanding is a joy, that knowledge is prerequisite to survival. I believe our future depends on how well we know this Cosmos in which we float like a mote of dust in the morning sky.”
“I think that life would suddenly seem wonderful to us if we were threatened to die as you say. Just think of how many projects, travels, love affairs, studies, it–our life–hides from us, made invisible by our laziness which, certain of a future, delays them incessantly. ‘But let all this threaten to become impossible for ever, how beautiful it would become again! Ah! If only the cataclysm doesn’t happen this time, we won’t miss visiting the new galleries of the Louvre, throwing ourselves at the feet of Miss X, making a trip to India. ‘The cataclysm doesn’t happen, we don’t do any of it, because we find ourselves back in the heart of normal life, where negligence deadens desire. And yet we shouldn’t have needed the cataclysm to love life today. It would have been enough to think that we are humans, and that death may come this evening.”
Marcel Proust
Note 1
It looks that nowadays, everything is pinpointed to be “successful”. And for some reason, we have an image of what being successful looks like.
We often forget, that we are unique. Everyone of us live in different environments, latitudes, countries, cities, and experience different cultures, interact with different people, and all this variables makes US.
The idea of success we have nowadays is just wrong. It's selfish, creates pressure, it is not friendly with the environment, makes people feel depressed. Success needs to be redefined to be exactly the opposite, and needs to be redefined by everyone of us, because we are all INDIVIDUALS, and it is a different thing for everyone of us.

“What we now want is closer contact and better understanding between individuals and communities all over the earth, and the elimination of egoism and pride which is always prone to plunge the world into primeval barbarism and strife... Peace can only come as a natural consequence of universal enlightenment...” “Fights between individuals, as well as governments and nations, invariably result from misunderstandings in the broadest interpretation of this term. Misunderstandings are always caused by the inability of appreciating one another's point of view. This again is due to the ignorance of those concerned, not so much in their own, as in their mutual fields. The peril of a clash is aggravated by a more or less predominant sense of combativeness, posed by every human being. To resist this inherent fighting tendency the best way is to dispel ignorance of the doings of others by a systematic spread of general knowledge. With this object in view, it is most important to aid exchange of thought and intercourse.” -NIKOLA TESLA
"It is possible to fly without motors, but not without knowledge and skill" - Wilbur Wright
“Decide in your heart of hearts what really excites and challenges you, and start moving your life in that direction. Every decision you make, from what you eat to what you do with your time tonight, turns you into who you are tomorrow, and the day after that. Look at who you want to be, and start sculpting yourself into that person. You may not get exactly where you thought you’d be, but you will be doing things that suit you in a profession you believe in. Don’t let life randomly kick you into the adult you don’t want to become.” —Chris Hadfield
“Superman didn't become Superman. Superman was born Superman. When Superman wakes up in the morning, he's Superman. His alter ego is Clark Kent. His outfit with the big red "S", that's the blanket he was wrapped in as a baby when the Kents found him. Those are his clothes. What Kent wears - the glasses, the business suit - that's the costume. That's the costume Superman wears to blend in with us. Clark Kent is how Superman views us. And what are the characteristics of Clark Kent. He's weak... he's unsure of himself... he's a coward. Clark Kent is Superman's critique on the whole human race.”
Quentin Tarantino

Let's remember the life and work of Richard P. Feyman who passed away on February 15,1988 ... A Universe of atoms......an atom in the Universe.
The O-ring ice-water demonstration done by Richard Feynman to prove that the resilience of the O-rings used at the field joints of the Solid Rocket Booster was not good at low temperatures. Being that the cause of the Challenger accident.

"Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn’t really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That’s because they were able to connect experiences they’ve had and synthesize new things. And the reason they were able to do that was that they’ve had more experiences or they have thought more about their experiences than other people. Unfortunately, that’s too rare a commodity. A lot of people in our industry haven’t had very diverse experiences. So they don’t have enough dots to connect, and they end up with very linear solutions without a broad perspective on the problem. The broader one’s understanding of the human experience, the better design we will have.”- Steve Jobs
This is the beginning of the Natural Bridge Trail in Yellowstone National Park.
I miss Yellowstone in so many ways. One of the best things Yellowstone gave to me are emotions. Emotions are unique for every human.
I miss Yellowstone trails.
I miss the sulphur odor.
I miss the buffalos.
I miss the big breakfast I took in the morning, and the big dinners at night (I skipped lunch to explore, to make the most of Yellowstone).
I miss the night sky at Yellowstone.
I miss the emotions all these things made me feel.
I miss taking the trails (that I made alone with bear spray and a bear bell) knowing that anytime a Black Bear or a Grizzly or an Elk can show up and then I could be at risk.
I miss taking the trails because you never know what will happen, uncertainty is very seductive.
I miss taking the trails because there is exploration.
I miss taking the trails for all the emotions I experimented while doing the hikes: fear, amusement, wonder, excitement, surprise, smallness, loneliness, curiosity.
