A relative of mine recently took off to little Lebanon for a holiday and so it triggered some cultural longing. The picture below features three men participating in the national dance, the dabkeh. With variations of the dabkeh across the Levant, as long as you have some form of leg coordination you can participate in this fun dance.

Pursuing a creative pathway as a Muslim requires endurance, when you are discouraged at school, and find little to no support  in your community as a creative, it is no surprise that you seek security of livelihood by parading as something other. Muslim Artists often have to wear multiple hats, not out of choice, but out of necessity to make a standard living.
