Hakuoki Headcanons and Imagines

Hijikata:

Legs. He very much appreciates every kind, but he’s especially fond of some tasteful roundness.

Okita:

All. He’s the Truest Wise Man who believes every part of you is Good as long as he can enjoy it.

Kazama:

Legs. You’d learn about it pretty early into your relationship, for one night he’d half whisper to you, in a husky voice, that your legs are top-notch. And then demand you to indulge him.

Saito:

Boobs. He’d never admit it, but The Titty makes him weak. Boobs are like the Holy Grail to him; they make him Fascitnated, yet Afraid.

Yamazaki:

Legs. He’s decent at Not Being Completely Obvious about that, and he’d be convinced to the very end that you don’t know. It could be fun if you decided to let him know that you know.

Sanan:

Boobs. He shows equal interest in all three, however, so you wouldn’t be able to guess which is it, unless you asked him directly. 

Harada:

Ass. Unlike some people, he knows what he’s about. When drunk, he turns into a Wise Man who preaches about The Ass Superiority and involves himself in heated discussions with Nagakura and Heisuke.

Heisuke:

Boobs, although when under the influence of Wise Man Harada he easily changes his mind and agrees with his wisdom.

Nagakura:

It depends. One day, (usually when he’s not very sober) he may claim boobs are the best, on another he’ll say he’s a passionate legs lover. However, he’s always against what Heisuke and Harada say, even when he agrees with them; for the sake of his pride.

Iba:

Legs, but he refuses to admit he has any preference. Approached about the subject he’d dodge by strongly ensuring you that he loves you whole. You can guess though, since he likes to stroke your legs, and his eyes tend to rest on them first after you undress.

Ryouma:

Boobs. It’s worth noting that squishing his face into the boob is his favorite thing to do.

Souma:

Well, a lot depends on how serious your argument would be. If it’s the big deal and he’s seriously mad about something, he would most likely pull away from the kiss and get even angrier. 

He loves you, but trying to ignore his feelings about the matter you were just arguing about, and just brushing everything off with a kiss, would kind of hurt him. Okita knows you bear no ill will, he simply wants to be understood by you, and for both of you to have something more than just an empty, physical relationship.

Given that your quarrel is not that grave, he would probably react in a very different manner. First of all, he would be rather amused, and kind of surprised, he’ll give you that. Also, rather flattered, that of all things this is how you unload of your frustration.

Harada:

His top priority here is your fun - if you are happy, then so is he. He wouldn’t make you go anywhere you are anxious or uncomfortable with. He’d also make sure you are not hungry, and definitely you wouldn’t feel unsafe or bored with him.

He’d buy complete, matching sets of accessories of park’s mascots for you two. It depends on the park, but imagine Harada shamelessly walking around, wearing, for example, funny Mickey Mouse hat, glasses and t-shirt, while you are his Minnie. He’d be down with getting some face painting, if you are willing, too. Promise to reward him with some sweet kisses later, and he’s ready to get his face painted solo.

The attraction Harada would insist on going even if you aren’t interested would be the one designed particularly for couples. He’d be rather determined to make you go, and the more you are embarrassed, the more convincing he’d become. He can’t help himself, you are so cute and he loves you so much! Plus, going to something like this with his significant other has always been the thing he wanted to do.

You would end up the day having a nice, casual dinner at a restaurant, and probably a drink or two.

Saito: 

Somehow being in such a place makes him feel very confused and disoriented. Not like there’s anything wrong with his sense of direction - it’s just there’s so many different things happening at once; so much to see and do. He would study the map of the park very thoroughly, it wouldn’t help him much, though.

He’d let you drag him everywhere, agreeing to go to every place you want, and often not knowing what kind of attraction it is.

Rollercoasters? S-sure. Saito would stay awfully calm during the whole ride, not a single muscle of his face would even twitch. Afterwards however, he’d walk funny, his legs shaky; he’d claim his fine… and then walk into people, trees, and other objects in his range, until he cools off.

He’d succumb to the idea of wearing a park-themed headwear or other accessory, to match with you; he’d become rather stiff though, and kind of give you an impression of a cat forced to wear a t-shirt.

Letting Saito involve himself with any kind of game with prizes to win would result in him not stopping until he gets the biggest one for you. There’s a chance he would become so engrossed in it he wouldn’t notice you walking away. He’d panic a little, not having any idea how to find you; after you are reunited, he wouldn’t let go of your hand for the rest of the day, just in case.

Ryouma: 

He’s unstoppable. Your fun matters to him, of course, but he can’t help it - he’d excitedly drag you to the places he finds fun. And those are mostly attractions good for couples, at least in his understanding. This means they are not only the typical, romantic stuff, like tunnels of love or such. Basically, if there’s an automatic camera shooting photos, you are in. Ryouma has a personal quest to complete, you see - to kiss you on every picture. He’d buy them, of course, no matter how ridiculous they turn out to be. 

It’s important to mention he’d scream during more extreme rides, even more so if you find that funny. Still, he’d somehow always remember to kiss you in the right moment, no matter how extra the attraction is.

He’d buy and make you wear the cutest park themed accessories, and then shamelessly stare at you whenever you are too busy to notice. Expect a lot of kisses placed on your face in random moments, just because he couldn’t stop himself.

Saito

He is the one that would seem the most calm in such situation - only slipping a bit when his heart skips a bit as he sees you get hurt. After that, it’s pretty much muscle memory - he calmly tries to get rid of whoever hurt you and ensure your safety for the moment, before running to your side to check on you.

He would have very mixed feelings about you drinking Water of Life. He probably wouldn’t give you it unless you asked for it, as being to one to choose whether you die or live on as a monster is not something he would be able to just do immediately.

It’s somewhat relieving when you drink Water of Life, though, as losing you like that, with the burden that it’s his fault for not being able to protect you… that’s one of these scary thoughts Saito wished to never have faced.

Saito couldn’t care less whether you’re human or Fury, so he makes sure you know that it changes nothing between you two. Sure, he worries about you and looks out for you more, but he tries to make sure you’re living as normal life as possible.

Harada

He would be furious, most of all at himself, for allowing you to get into harm’s way. Even if there was absolutely nothing he could have done to prevent it, you can bet the guy will feel responsible for a long, long time.

As much as he cares, as much as he loves you, he wouldn’t want you to be forced to live your life as a Fury. Harada wouldn’t be able to make the decision to give you Water of Life, so you could only drink it by yourself.

Seriously. Harada would blame himself so, so much. Even if it was all yours decision, a situation in which he was in no position to protect you, it haunts him. Every time he sees your hair turn white, it feels like being stabbed.

Of course, he doesn’t love you any less, quite the opposite, really. Eventually he gets used to you being a Fury, and it’s never about having a problem with you - it’s just that the moment when you got injured and had to take Water of Life was highly traumatic for him.

Okita

He would be rather useless for you when it happened. Mostly because instead of trying to help you, he would be controlled by his fear of losing you and anger and try to murder the person who dared to hurt you like that.

He would be so, so, so awfully relieved that you took Water of Life.  Of course it’s not the perfect life and he wouldn’t wish for you to have to suffer from side effects, but… it beats not having you in  his life. Okita would never want to experience the future in which you aren’t present.

Afterwards, he would be really angry at himself because he was unable to protect you when it mattered the most. You being a Fury now is something he doesn’t pay much attention to (well, aside from worrying about your well-being when the sun is out and all these things; of course he cares about you), as he would spend days brooding and being angry at himself.

Okita

Seeing your insecurity, he would choose to lightly tease you, as he honestly can't understand why you feel like that.

He would decide to get rid of your insecurity the easiest way - by showering your body in kisses and caressing you, to show you that your body is perfect the way it is and he truly loves it.

Heisuke

He would be quite surprised by your insecurity; however, as he very much understands how insecurity feels, he would take you quite seriously.

He'd try to reassure you that you're perfect the way you are, and to make it easier for you, share with you things about his own body that make him insecure - something nobody else in the world knows. That way you are in the same situation and it's much easier for both of you.

Hijikata

He would frown at you, the fact you feel insecure bothering him quite a bit. He'd inquire whether he did anything that could make you feel in such a way. Or maybe somebody was rude to you before? He'd want to know, so he can more clearly tell you there's nothing to feel insecure about.

Hijikata would not only reassure you verbally, but also with his actions, making sure you know that there's nothing wrong with his body and he loves it.

Harada

Out of all men, he probably would be the one that could actually convince you that your body is perfect.

His words, his touch, kisses, everything; it's filled with honest feelings and adoration for both you and your body.

Iba

The fact you are perfectly fine without him would be a tough pill to swallow, as Iba greatly wants to be able to do something for you to show you he cares. What’s better for that than looking out for you and helping you out? But with you it’s not that easy.

It’s not that he finds it a bad thing that you are very independent (quite the opposite; he is very proud of you!) - he is just frustrated that there seems nothing he can do for you and it makes him wonder whether you really need him at all.

The thing is, though, that he needs you. So he stays by your side the only way he can - worrying about you, offering you his support, both in the form of words and a shoulder to cry on when you need it.

Saito

For him it’s a rather easy situation, as he values strength and ability to take care of oneself that is real. So he’d definitely not underestimate you and wouldn’t hesitate to rely on you for things he knows you can easily take care of.

He also wouldn’t be much worried about your well-being, since he knows you can handle that; still, he just worries about you in the “I care about you” way, without making you feel annoyed by it.

-NSFW-Okita:

Oh, he’d stay in hiding and listen to the entirety of your conversation. He wants to know everything about his performance, he’s anxious to learn if you are just as satisfied as you seem to be after every single one of your lovemaking.

There’s no helping it, he’d smirk at what he just heard. In addition, the temptation to let himself laugh out loud and come out to you would be real. Okita wouldn’t succumb, though. 

What he would do is memorize as much of what you said as he can. One reason for that is him wanting to remember your words and tone you spoke them in, to replay it in his head whenever in need. The other reason, however…

He’d approach you later on, when it’s just the two of you, and the mood is right. You would find him whispering familiar lines… your lines, the very words you said to your friend before, right into your ear.

Okita would let you know just how much pleasure and satisfaction you made him feel. What is more, you would find out he paid extra attention to whatever you said you enjoy the most.

Saito:

He didn’t mean to eavesdrop. Upon hearing what he did, his ears would turn red and he’d make an attempt to back away, for this conversation definitely wasn’t meant for him to know the content of. 

What he heard cannot be unheard though, and it’d be enough to occupy his thoughts for a long while. He’d definitely feel flattered (even if embarrassed), if not for the guilt eating him up. He wouldn’t let himself suppress it until later, after he admits to you what he’d overheard. He doesn’t want to keep it from you.

Saito would be sure to apologize thoroughly, making you giggle at his behavior and making such a big deal out of it. He wouldn’t want to go back to what’s happened after that, but still, the words he’s heard before would keep echoing in his mind.

Eventually he’d approach you about the subject, blushing profusely, asking if you really meant what you said to your friend. He really wants to know the truth, and to learn the details from you.

Saito

He isn’t much of a cuddler, and the thought of cuddling doesn’t really come to him naturally, but if you ask him, he won’t refuse. He also simply needs the time to get used to the idea that he can casually tuck you in his arms whenever.

He does enjoy holding you close to him, on the long run however Saito prefers position which allows him to look at your face. Somehow he never gets tired of studying it, as if he wanted to memorize every tiniest detail. 

Handholding is his thing. So much. He honestly could lie for hours just holding your hand and staring at you lovingly, always finding something about you to focus on and think about how lucky he is to have you.

Okita

He loves cuddling with you. Feeling your warmth, your smell, your body right by his own gives him great comfort. He has troubles falling asleep without having you close to him - it’s so much easier to keep his demons at bay holding on to the one he loves.

When you are cuddling, Okita often plays with your hair or gently strokes your body. He also very much enjoys listening to you telling him about your day, or anything, really. The sound of your voice is precious to him. He may try to spark a conversation, or try to provoke you, if you keep quiet for too long. 

He loves being spoiled, so he’s very fond of being held and pampered by you from time to time.

Heisuke

Sometimes he has no patience to stay still, and he playfully smooches your face, telling you how cute you are. Sometimes the cuddling ends up with you two rolling around and laughing. Giving Heisuke a surprise kiss on lips is an easy win of this fight.

Heisuke adores wrapping himself tightly around you, using his arms and legs, cuddling his face into your body. He always does that just “to mess with you”, but his expression is suspiciously blissful, as he secretly enjoys it very much. He possesses a rare talent to doze off after a few minutes in this position.

The request would probably come to him as surprise, and make him think that you might be making fun of him, so he'd get irritated and try to shoo you away with some rather mean words.

Upon realizing that you really, truly, did not mean anything bad by it and are genuinely impressed with his skills, he would feel kinda bad about lashing out on you. Not able to admit being at fault, he would pout a little and act all "okay, fine, if it will stop you bothering me, then I can teach you".

... he would be secretly really happy to be able to teach you, though, as it makes him feel cool that you admire his skills.

Kaoru doesn't make a very good teacher at first, being more mean than necessary when you don't understand something (most likely because he can't explain it easily enough).

Eventually he gets very much into it and forgets about he need to be guarded and tsun all the time, which results in a rather nice moment between you two.
