#wacky watermelons#i really like factory resets tbh#like. your friend survived a catastrophy. but the price was.. them. their memories and history.#and you can either fight to bring the them you knew back or give in to them being someone new#either way grief butts against autonomy and questions of what makes a person themself#and of course you can do fun spins on mind control tropes#where it leans harder into the “i can no longer trust the person that looks like my friend”#its just. very good. i need to engage with more stories with robots....#also the “robot character slowly gets less stiff over time as they learn to let themself live” immediately contrasted with a factory reset#mwah. beautiful
