So um... My last post was about how I need to do art commissions but I also want to make more Qubo related posts, since my blog used to have more of that. I think I would talk about some things like if Qubo were to get a revival and what I'd personally replace based on what I hated. A friend asked me what my least favorite Qubo show was before and I had to think but I gave her my answer "The worst Qubo show had to be Warren Buffet's Secret Millionare Club" and she joked "What's next? A cartoon about Mark Zuckerburg?" and I laughed. So yeah, as much as I loved Qubo and realize they did have good quality shows, there's also a lot of crappy ones too. Trust me, Qubo was still amazing despite a few crappy shows.

If I were to revive Qubo Channel, here are a few of the shows I'd get rid of and why:

Being Ian: This one was really awful and the designs looked straight up... racially insensitive. It was also weird in the concept that the kid was just walking around filming his family and friends because he wanted to make movies, but he's filming people without their consent that is weird. If you liked this show, that's fine, but you can't deny that it is a bit weird.

Grossology: Yeah this one was straight up gross as it is in the title and it's weird and it looked kind of fetishy too. I never watched it because it always made me uncomfortable from the promos. If you liked it as a kid, let me know why because I couldn't handle it.

Fishtronaut: Oh gosh the voice acting was so bad and the show looked unfinished, and they had an episode that really pissed me off that made fun of circuses. It's not exactly inappropriate but it's a little hard to watch and enjoy. I've seen videos on YouTube made by a 12 year old with Gachalife and windows movie maker, that feel more finished than Fishtronaut. If you liked this show, I'm sorry but it's a meh from me.

Elliot Kid: I only seen one episode of the show and it was straight up perverted. It was one of those "Kid loses swimsuit in the pool" type tropes that for some reason they like to include in cartoons. Like, this is Qubo, not Nickelodeon! Get that sh*t out of here! What's wrong with yall??? One thing about it though, my grandma liked the character designs. Idk how I feel about them personally but the designs weren't bad. Aside from the weird episode I saw, the show never appealed to me either. Let me know your thoughts.

Warren Buffet's Secret Millionares Club: Obviously this one if the WORST of all! I'm not joking! This cartoon was literally teaching kids to be obsessed with money and probably didn't actually teach relatable lessons like other shows on Qubo did. It barely aired anyway, and I never watched it. I just know by the title that it's bad and when I told my mom about it, she cringed.

An honorable mention of bad Qubo shows would probably be "Ned's Newt" but it was actually kind of an enjoyable show, once you got past the weird concept, however, there were some adult references that shouldn't be in a kids show. It was from the 90s so I'll let it slide, plus I actually got into it at one point. Despite that, the concept of giving drugs to your pet so he'll go from being a normal newt (a newt is like a salamander thing) to growing giant, and being able to do impressions of characters, is weird! It's hard to explain but like, the weird thing about the show is that it felt like Ned was giving drugs to him. He'd give him a can of "Zippo" and the newt would become giant, and not only be able to talk, but he could also shapeshift and do impressions of characters from other media, or celebrities. It feels like it has such a weird message, but it's not entirely a bad show, it's just not ideal for kids. A lot of Qubo shows were really well made and should be recognized for that.

I also have to be honest, I might get rid of Babar too if I revived Qubo. I know it was a classic Qubo show, but the books apparently had racist stereotypes, and because I'm not black, I don't know if I should get rid of it or not. I would ask someone who is black and could tell me if I should get rid of it or not. I mean, the show was not racist but the books were. (If you're black, please let me know if it's racist to keep the show playing and I should get rid of it, or just leave it alone).

But yeah, if I were to revive Qubo I might keep Ned's Newt, but it would play late at night and the others I named, have got to go! I would replace Grossology with the Moomins (90s Moomin series), I would replace Being Ian with Erky Perky, I would replace Fishtronaut with Lily's Driftwood Bay, I would replace Elliot Kid with Big & Small (puppet show), and I'd replace Warren Buffet Secret Millionaires Club with Grojband (since Grjband is Nelvana and has similar vibes of Scaredy Squirrel and Sidekick). Moomin, Erky Perky, Lily's Driftwood Bay, Big & Small, and Grojband are some underrated shows that never played on Qubo but fit the vibe.

So I've been seeing a lot of people in the TADC fandom freak out when people bring their kids under 12, to see the TADC last act movie, or seeing someone younger than 12 or 13 liking the show. These fans must be immature teens themselves because as a 23 year old, I still see 16-18 year olds as kids too. Literally, there is barely a difference in mental maturity between a 12 year old and 16 year old. Also, 18 year olds are still a little bit like teens. You can't always tell someone's age by how they look or act, especially nowadays. Why does society treat preteens and younger teens as toddlers but treat them like adults once they turn 18? Also, TADC is not 18+ like Family Guy! TADC is meant for 12+ but I think most 10 and 11 year olds can handle it too. Even a 9 year old could if they're used to watching darker movies to begin with. I don't see how TADC is that different from Harry Potter or something.

With that being said, I do find it weird that people brought their 4 or 5 year olds to see the movie, but as a TADC fan I honestly am just happy that the movie is doing well and I hope it makes more money than Toy Story 5! Honestly, I wouldn't bring a kid under 6 to a theater at all, unless it was a children's theater, especially if the kid was on the Autistic spectrum or not used to staring at a huge screen in a dark room, for an hour and a half. I'm neurodivergent, and growing up I was one of those kids who had a really short attention span. I wasn't a movie kid, I mostly watched whatever came on Sprout, Qubo, or Nick Jr. and sometimes I'd make my grandma put on shows "On demand" which I can't really explain what that is, but basically like the 2000s streaming service. Even while watching cartoons or whatever, I still would come in and out of rooms, and I heard other little kids did it too, I'm not sure if kids are even meant to watch long movies anyway! There's a reason why the Wallace & Gromit movies are mostly under an hour long, it's not just that they were made in stop motion but kids don't have that long of an attention span.

Now if the kid is old enough, I think TADC is perfectly fine. A lot of people question on how appropriate it is. Even though the show is quite dark, maybe just avoid episode 3 which might be a little scary. The show is dark but I'm sure a lot of 9-12 year olds can handle dark stories. Don't act like we didn't have dark shows and movies as kids! I'm a gen Z and I know that a lot of us gen z kids had more gentle stuff than the millennials did, and lucky for me, I wasn't much of a Disney kid other than Playhouse Disney/Disney Junior. As for the subtle swearing that's censored during most of the show, get over it! Their teacher probably swears at the kids in the classroom to shut them up! Saying a few swear words aren't as bad as what I watched as a kid... I saw the most perverted, disgusting shows on Nickelodeon that I'm surprised didn't get the creator on a watchlist yet! I'd rather have my kid watch TADC than iCarly or Ren & stimpy! They're even making perverted kids shows like that today too! Teen Titans Go and Loud House are horrible! I think the shows on tv are worse than some of the Elsagate/Rumigate/Pomnigate content farm videos I hear people complain about! Like, come on! Wouldn't you rather have your kid watch the actual show for TADC than the content farm with pregnant Pomni drawn with a more curvy body to sexualize her? The real TADC might be dark but at least it's not sexual!

By the way, I am not a parent yet but I do plan on being one someday (my bf hasn't talked to me in a while so idk what the future holds, I've been wanting him to give me a baby for almost 6 years). I know people my age who are parents, however. I'm not telling anyone how to raise their kids, I'm just showing that TADC is not as bad for kids as people are saying. If you don't want your 9 or 10 year old watching TADC, that's fine, but don't act like it's one of those 18+ adult cartoons. Like I said, it's not like Hazbin Hotel or Family Guy! Honestly, I consider TADC to even be more appropriate than Total Drama and I know a lot of people who watched those as an older kid and preteen. My point is that there are a lot of more horrible shows that kids can be exposed to and here's people freaking out about a cartoon with characters trying to escape a digital world... It's not "phycological horror" it's FANTASY! It's not real! However, TADC does bring up real world issues like mental health, and that's not something we should hide from kids, in my opinion. We can't make every show that kids watch this dumb "We're all happy and everyone is happy" type of thing. It's okay for kids shows to bring up real issues and darker themes once in a while, and what's nice about TADC is that it's also got the humor too, so it's not just a preachy mess like some of the other modern shows that discuss real issues. I wouldn't call TADC a kids show exactly, but I don't fully consider it an adult show.

If you have younger kids or older kids who are more sensitive and can't handle TADC, but still like the characters, that's fine too. They can like the show without seeing every episode, the first two are probably the most kid friendly! They don't have to watch every scene but still get a grasp of what the show is about, and can enjoy it! And if you, as an adult TADC fan, see a kid liking TADC, don't shame them for liking it either!

This movie better beat Toy Story 5!!! Go see TADC The Last Act right now!!!

The ending was amazing, I loved Caine getting along with everyone and I don't want to give too many spoilers but I loved Ribbit! also I wish the best for these indie voice actors, if you're making a movie please hire them! They're so talented (btw Michael never said the N word, he said "nega" short for negative, there's been actors who have done worse).

First Scaredy Squirrel, but I saw that Marvin the Tap-Dancing Horse is gone off Tubi as well, and I think they were going to remove Grojband (which wasn't from Qubo but it was a Canadian show by the same company). I think Sidekick (which was a Qubo show) got removed as well. I know Maggie and the Ferocious Beast, and Timothy Goes to School got removed from Tubi, too. It's so sad that they're removing a lot of Qubo shows, because this stuff is going to become lost media once it's no longer on Tubi. I hope they don't remove Joe & Jack because that one is extremely hard to find! We gotta start protesting or boycotting Tubi!!!

Oh you wanna know the worst of all? They replaced those adorable Qubo shows with a bunch of Cartoon Network sh*t! The put freaking Cow & Chicken and Dexter's Lab on Tubi, in the KIDS section????? Fr???? Even millennials were saying "Today's kids aren't ready for cow and chicken" and we know how nostalgic millennials can be. Like, at least for once they're acknowledging that not everything they grew up with is safe for kids but WHY TF IS COW AND CHICKEN IN THE FREAKING KIDS SECTION???? and then, none of the GOOD cartoon network shows like We Bare Bears or Camp Lazlo ended up on Tubi, it's only the outdated crap that feels like the writers should be put n a watchlist! (I'm 23 and I watched a few episodes of Dexter's Lab a few years ago, and I was creeped out at some episodes. I'm not sure why people thought it was for kids, it felt like watching a cartoon made by Dan Schnieder).

To close this off, I'm going to be 100% honest here, NOT EVERYTHING ON QUBO WAS A MASTERPEICE! I say this as probably the number 1 biggest Qubo fan, I watched it literally the day it ended in 2021, when I was 18 years old. I have to admit, there were some very crappy fever dream shows on Qubo. It would actually be funny to put all the bad shows in one post but I might make a tier list and a video on it one day! Trust me, as much as I love and have an attachment to the Qubo channel, there were a few shows on there that are just... pointless. Feel free to ask me about the bad Qubo shows though!
