This recipe was amended on 29 September 2021 to correct the fact that the cucumbers should be 6cm in length and not 6m.

We muddled two numbers in a panel accompanying an article about Taiwan. As the article stated, the president, Tsai Ing-wen, has two cats not 23.

A photo purporting to show a lesser spotted woodpecker was actually of a great spotted woodpecker.

It is tautologous to refer to “Mount Snowdon” as we did in panel text. The English name Snowdon is derived from the Old English snaw dun meaning “snow hill”; in Welsh the peak is Yr Wyddfa.

The word “by” was regrettably missing from an image caption. The text should have said: “The journalist Lyra McKee, killed by a New IRA gunman in Derry in 2019”.

A quick crossword clue should not have described penguins and turtles as mammals; they are birds and reptiles, respectively.

We misquoted Les Dennis describing his role in the forthcoming film Sideshow; he plays “an ageing, past-his-prime psychic”, not “… sidekick” as we had it.

Philip Moss in The Archers was revealed in a storyline to be a modern slaver who didn’t pay his workers, rather than being “unmasked as a gangmaster” as an article said. Modern slavery is a criminal matter, but there is no crime implicit in being a gangmaster, an occupation covered by a licensing scheme.

An article about overtourism said Amsterdam and Barcelona hosted upwards of 18,000 visitors for each inhabitant a year. The correct ratio is 20:1.

An article in early editions of Friday’s paper was headlined “NHS admits to making 237m medication errors a year costing £16bn”. That should have said £1.6bn, as the article itself had it.

Conservators will carry out work at Hill House in Scotland, not conservationists as we said. As our style guide points out, a conservator works to repair and preserve cultural objects, while a conservationist works with the natural environment.

An article about snow in Scotland mistakenly referred to Castle Cary, a town in Somerset, when Castlecary, a village in North Lanarkshire was meant.

A reader noted that our recipe called “Spaghetti with radicchio, fennel and rosemary” didn’t include spaghetti, fennel or rosemary. The ingredients and method were right, but it should have been titled: Strozzapreti with radicchio and balsamic.

A review of Mrs Wilson, a BBC drama based on the story of leading actor Ruth Wilson’s grandparents, said that they married once a decree nisi from a previous marriage had been secured. A decree nisi says that an applicant is entitled to a divorce; it was a decree absolute, which dissolves the marriage, which would have allowed them to wed.

Many readers contacted us to point out that the main image accompanying a long read about bees was actually of a hoverfly.

We referred several times in an article to a YouTube channel called “Cutie Pie”; that should have been to “PewDiePie”.

A recipe for spent espresso brownies was meant to call for 80g, not 800g, of used coffee grounds.
