Why is this blog called "I love a lonely star"? Because during The Untamed's first fan meeting, GG sang Stefanie Sun's Kepler and changed the final verse from "reminding me I am also just a lonely star" to "reminding me I love a lonely star".
Ever since, I've loved this imagery of a lonely star -- one that shines beautifully, gives us hope, but is also a bit heartbreaking. In a way, I think that feels similar to what GG&DD represent to us, turtles.

It's very interesting to notice how DD/LWJ's face changes throughout the shooting of CQL. These two frames are from the same episode (29) and are a continuation. But the left frame was shot in the early days of filming (April 18th), while the right frame was shot later, in early August.
Like GG says in this interview, DD was criticized because of the way his eyes were pulled by the wig at the beginning, making his expression not LWJ-like in the eyes of the fans, so they changed it. His eyebrows are also different, I guess making him look more regal and stern in the right frame.
I think GG/WWX's changes aren't that visible because it seems the way the wig pulled his eyes wasn't as noticeable as DD's, and they didn't change much of the shape of his eyebrows either.
Hmmmm... 'kay. One applied lipstick; the other didn't wipe his mouth... Sure, sure. It's just a coincidence that YOU BOTH got shiny lips and are looking at each other like this ποΈπποΈ

This bts is from August 12th; they wrapped up the shooting on August 23rd.
As far as I know, "gouzai" can mean literally "puppy", but also be an insult (π), and in Sichuan and Chongqing dialects it's a term of endearment.
The second part of the bts starts with GG already saying "WYB is really awesome", but I believe they were arguing/talking about something else in between those two parts, because the way GG talks after gives me the impression he's being kind of sarcastic about something DD had said previously.
OMG CAN YOU IMAGINE THEM RIDING A MOTORCYCLE TOGETHER AND GOING TO HAVE DINNER AND GOING TO A CONCERT ππππ
It was toward the end of filming (August 11th), and GG was shooting those intense Nightless City battle scenes. Just moments before, he'd been crying while reading the script with Xuan Lu about Shijie's death β he was emotionally and physically drained.
Then, while they were instructing DD on how the scene should go, we can hear GG kind of... whimpering in the background, slipping back into WWX's miserable state.
Another thing that amazes me about this period of intense filming (the Nightless City battle) was that during the mornings, they would shoot the Cloud Recesses study arc, and later on the same day, they would film these heavy and angsty scenes.
They said in interviews how grueling and draining it was for them -- especially GG, who had the most shots and had to switch his personality from young, chirpy WWX to troubled YLLZ.
I'm so proud of these hard-working actors, who were basically rookies at the time. π₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ίπ₯Ί

Hello dear π’s! For the life of me, I couldn't find a video with a transciption/translation of this "Xiao Bo" again. I'm pretty sure I've seen someone talking about this before, but I won't count on my memory 100% after seeing so many stories about these two. In the Bazaar video, they cut before this part. π
Since I'm not a Chinese speaker -- and my very little understanding comes from dramas and bts clips -- I don't trust my knowledge to translate this on my own, but I believe GG called DD "Xiao Bo" here? As in "ε°ε" I'd assume, like Little Bo, and not as "θε". I don't remember GG calling him "Xiao Bo" in another clip.
