My sad no-folk-costume meme was mainly about being Canadian lol although there is also not a lot known about Jewish costume in the Ashkenazi world beyond religious garb, state-imposed Jew-identifying symbols and what is now Hassidic dress. I actually don’t know that much about it because there has not been much costume history retained from Ashkenaz (there is more from the Sephardi and Mizrahi world) but something that has struck me before is that Jewish Museums will sometimes label certain textiles as Jewish textiles when they might have been things used by everyone in a specific region including Jews but not only Jews. Just as many Ashkenazi foods are the same or very similar to the foods eaten by gentiles in the same region… Jews were not SO different. I would gladly accept museum photos though! I’d love to visit the Pale of Settlement sometime ;)
