Hey, everyone should go a listen to this song that I put out this week.. and stream it and share it and recommend it and put it fucking everywhere ahhhh
If you let your emotions flow as elegantly and authentically into your art as you can, your art will automatically be something of substance and will have something to say because youâve left pieces of yourself in every nook and cranny of it, and people will see that. Theyâll realise what youâre trying to do when you peel back yourself to this incredibly vulnerable but entirely original and sublime version of you, in the piece that you have created.
Whether youâre writing a poem, reading a novel, documenting a family holiday, vlogging, or perhaps itâs something as casual as the way you like to pat the cover of the book youâre reading twice once youâve finished reading it; Itâs these little pieces of you that are so imperative to the way you percieve, create, relate and interact with both art and the world itself and when people unite their mannerisms, true selves and creativity with their views of the world, something profoundly beautiful is created, whether the minority or the majority of people can see that, somebody is bound to and perhaps youâre not that aware of it but down the line one of those people will take that piece with them into theirs and we inevitably inspire and build upon one anotherâs bogus views of the way the font looks on the restaurant menu, or how your little sister tells you that she likes the way the inside of her coatâs sleeve feels as it lies against her forearm, because this is all new to her, sheâs only four, and youâve seen what the world can do, but become bored with it, you find it mundane but when something like that pops up, you crack a smile and remember the joy you found in the everyday when you were her age.
Glimpses of time passing Sunlight rippling against the waves of the vast ocean Iâve seen things similar to it before But God, how I love to see it again
Youâve got some of your hair in your face And you didnât even finish your meal Youâre leaving tiny hand prints on every window youâre passing And your shoelace is still untied
Wake me up in the morning So I donât sleep in I canât believe weâre still up this late And youâre still laughing at how he pronounced the last of word of that speech Really? I didnât think so
Just forget it Because everyone does Laminate these memories with delicacy and store them in your beloved grey matter but in a sacred place, thatâs only there for you
I know youâre only four But itâs one of the best things you can do
Thereâs snow on the windshield of the car My battery is at 3% And youâve spilled coffee on the ground but weâll clean it up later Weâre making it up as we go along And weâre making it
Together.
Seriously how the fuck did I write this? I actually love this lol
Be yourself, wholly and utterly.
This is a thought that enters my mind as frequently as it escapes it, there is nobody like you, and there never will be. You will meet people with similar interests of course, but they will never be a replica of who you are, completely. If I remember correctly, it was The Buddha that said âComparison is the thief of joyâ this quote has been ringing in my mind lately, and itâs something that I wish I had of heard early in my teen years, as well as one that says; âDesire is the root of all sufferingâ and Iâve heard these morals before, of course. However.. The simple repetitive line of âBe yourselfâ is not enough, to tap into the relevatory potential it beholds, the sentence is too simple and it doesnât leave enough of an impact. Perhaps thatâs a product of hearing it so much throughout life that itâs inevitably lost all meaning, but yet here I am, repeating it and writing some small essay about itâs profundity only at an older age. We completely lose track of ourselves, once we begin to compare ourselves to people we admire or begin to envy those who we admire because maybe theyâre in a relationship, maybe theyâve got a lot of charisma and friends, maybe they have attention and we subconsciously insert the mere possibility of what if, we had those things, what if we could be like that person, what if we had all of those things, without considering that happiness and fulfillment are found in different entities and value is added to your life, purely depending on the type of person that you are. You may be broke, and a friend of yours may have a lot of money, but if you all that money that you wish you had like them, you would possibly begin to feel guilt for people less than you, because you know how it feels to be at a low like that, so the addition of this supposed fulfillment into your life, has only brought increased isolation and a purely fabricated fulfillment rather than the sheer joy and happiness that it so apparently promised. This is the danger of envy, and the danger of losing track of yourself. You are worth everything, and anything, regardless of circumstance, and I urge everyone and anyone that reads this - If anyone does - to perpetually gain a deep and close understanding of the person that you are, and to cut off comparing yourself to anyone, and donât even take things like that into account when youâre trying to improve your life, seek out what wholly fulfills you as an individual, dig up your roots and understand what makes you tick. Not what will give other people the impression that youâre doing well, or that youâve improved your life. Through sincerity and sheer authenticity and fulfillment you will utterly shine, as a person and that is what will make people notice. In short, be yourself, and nobody else.
I can't remember when I wrote this but damn I should take my own advice again, I haven't had these thoughts in a while
I am in love with Lil Nas X's new album MONTERO. I just can't express how much it means to have an artist like him in mainstream pop culture today, and on such a fucking insane pedestal of fame as well that everyone knows about him and what he's doing.
While some have given the album flack for being held up by media controversy or pastiche pop music, I disagree entirely. I think Nas is really laying himself, his insecurities and vulnerabilities quite openly on the table here, and utilizing them to the best of his abilities. He expresses himself so wonderfully authentically that I almost just want to cry, because I wish I could have that level of self belief and security and pride in who I am, unapologetically yourself for every reason that being you stands for, it's been so beautiful to watch him blossom into a fully unique version of who he really is, and that's what I love most about his music and him, it's just so beautiful.

Fifteen-hundred people went into the sea, when Titanic sank from under us. There were twenty boats floating nearby⌠and only one came back. One. Six were saved from the water, myself included. Six⌠out of fifteen-hundred. Afterward, the seven-hundred people in the boats had nothing to do but wait⌠Wait to die, wait to live. Wait for an absolution that would never come.
bye 2020, itâs been weird.
