what genuinely gets me about stan culture now is how fast people will throw away their own morals just to defend a man they do not know personally. especially when it’s someone most of these people didn’t even know existed 6 or 7 months ago. suddenly they’re acting like his lawyers, detectives, PR team and attack dogs all at once.

the irony is crazy because these same people spent months acting like the moral police online, policing everybody else’s behavior and acting superior to everyone but now that their fave is the one being called out, suddenly it’s “it’s not even his account” or “you don’t know the full story” or “it’s a set up.”

you are allowed to enjoy someone’s work and still acknowledge when they’ve done something wrong. that should not be controversial. being a fan should inspire you or entertain you not turn you into someone stalking his real life friends, obsessively defending him online for hours and acting genuinely unhinged over a person who does not know you exist.

some of you are lowering your standards for a man you’ve never met because the parasocial attachment has gotten that bad and watching it happen in real time is honestly uncomfortable.

being a fan should not require giving up your critical thinking skills.

The post that’s going around on here too is also doing a whole lot of nothing and having that much time on your hands, again to go and try and defend this man’s actions is super weird and embarrassing for you.

The account was real, It was made in 2016 and then when it got found out it wasn’t just instantly deleted but had its name and picture changed? Strange. It’s definitely him in the profile pic. When someone messaged his friend about it (again super weird that you feel like you can message a complete stranger/friend of someone you Stan is very strange behaviour) he has said it’s not *his* account and not ‘theirs’ again I’m not saying he has to even acknowledge anything but he did anyway so, that’s that.
