Tvl finale spoilers ahead
Man yeah. For all my criticism of the finale, if I had to imagine a narcissist go through his personal definition of truth and accountability, it would look exactly like episode seven of the vampire lestat, bravo

THE WAY THIS PROMO STILL FROM 3x06 (Montreal) IS MAKING ME WANT TO CRYYYY 😭
The person who made the blog post about how Daniel's problem this season is with the nature of interview vs documentary I need them back on my feed
like idk i think at this point im just gonna have to start blocking anyone who's into taylor swift. sorry but if you can't drop her even after she invites ICE agents to her fucking wedding i just don't really think i want you near me. why are you throwing all of your supposed values away for a mid at best pop singer?
*guy who runs a ICE concentration camp, not an ICE agent. my bad. point still stands.

Steven J. Demetriou, guest 92 of 93 as photographed by Backgrid
He is the executive chair of Amentum, a company that provides engineering and technology to the USA’s army and nuclear programs. They operate the most test and training ranges of any contractor if their site is to be believed.
It appears they run the East Montana concentration camp, the largest in the USA. While much of the abuse, including sexual and physical abuse, occurred under the camp’s previous contractor, Acquisition Logistics, the ACLU has confirmed Amentum was WORKING AS SUBCONTRACTORS at the East Montana camp during this time. Amentum's current role as sole contractor from March onwards proves no less deadly, with 2 overdoses with the intent to commit suicide from inhumane conditions. Representative Escobar confirmed nothing has changed since Amentum’s takeover. Lawyers representing prisoners report being unable to reach their clients.
The following conditions are BY DESIGN, as "Guards tell people detained at Camp East Montana who complain about conditions that if they do not like the conditions, they should self-deport." Civil Detention Centers are not supposed to be punitive. This is only a civil detention center on paper. It is a concentration camp.
The ACLU lists: I already linked this but I'm doing it again bc if you read one source, it should be this one.
Medical neglect, including for people with pregnancies, diabetes, cancer, and HIV.
Severe beatings. One man was beaten to death for requesting his asthma medication.
solitary confinement
unclean water
Tuberculosis and Measles outbreaks
Limited to no sunlight
no or limited hygiene products
rotten food, not enough food, no special diets for medical conditions
SEXUAL ASSAULT
No ventilation in a DESERT leading to lung damage
Not enough toilets, overflow often, whole tent smells of urine and feces
No privacy to use said toilet
Threats and beatings for those that refuse to sign deportation papers, sometimes to places they are NOT FROM
No activities, punished for attempting to make art from recycled items like cracker boxes, can only practice own religion at guards' discretion
no dental care. This is likely universal across US concentration camps. Note Emmanuel Damas, the Haitian immigrant that died from a dental infection due to lack of care
Unable to receive legal representation if not already represented
LOCATED ON FORMER JAPANESE DETENTION CAMP BECAUSE TIME IS A FUCKING CIRCLE
Taylor Swift's guest is directly responsible for these. This is the LARGEST CONCENTRATION CAMP IN THE US, made to hold 5000 people. He's not just any ICE contractor he is the biggest and baddest. At least this will get people talking about just HOW bad this camp is.
Note this camp is in the Chihuahua Desert: This heat wave? Try it in a windowless fucking 108 by 36 ft tent with 72 other people with no soap.
It's a very common trope because of how true to reality it is. the block stopping an artist from making something great is the thing they have been trying to ignore, the thing that makes them the most vulnerable, the feeling that is the most true. We have been watching lestat Not Mention Claudia for 4 episodes because of course, when he did, all hell broke loose. but more than anything, the album will be, as it has always been, as everything in this show inevitably is, about claudia.

Alex is Nicki this Alex is Nicki that HE WAS TURNED THE NIGHT HIS BROTHER KILLED HIMSELF
I know we like to make fun of "I have the blood of akasha in me" but here's my lil-big-outlandish theory:
Lestat emphasizing the value of his blood is the footnote on that every blood being a part of the box the failures is sold in. Louis is not by any extent the richest person who might be interested in the box. Suppose he's outbid by a human, the buyer wants the recordings but has no use for the blood. The recording informs the listener "this blood is valuable for healing powers for vampires". Louis is the richest VAMPIRE and thus if the blood is put on auction on it's own, it's sure to go back to him.
This is Lestat's will being caring for Louis all over again.

"You simply cannot trust Louis, he's a completely unreliable narrator and every single thing he ever said should be put to question! It's so good that we finally have Lestat's version, which is obviously the only true one - so good to finally have a reliable narrator!"
The reliable narrator:
in season one lestat killed that opera singer for not being a tenor and now in season three he’s sitting patiently and listening as his band plays that shitty song to him oh lestat de lionkind lestat de growthcourt
His previous attitude got him killed and left in a dumpster for half a decade. I'd bet that was educational
Post TLG, Shane has a rare completely off night. He was awful and he knows it. When they get back to the locker room after the loss, Shane goes to apologize to the team. Before he can start, the team just pushes him out of the way and surrounds Ilya. They’re like “Dude, what the fuck is wrong with you? What’s your problem?” and Ilya is so confused as to why they’re upset with him because he played well despite losing. Someone is like “Cap, it’s your job to put out and you clearly haven’t been and that’s why Shane is playing like shit, so why are you not giving it up?”. Someone else explains that they figured out a while ago that Shane plays like a God when he’s getting laid regularly, and goes back to being a normal human when not, so they need to know why Ilya isn’t bending over and giving it up. They start assuming that something is medically wrong and Bood is like “Well if Ilya can’t take it then someone on the team has to step up” and Luca is immediately like “I’ll let Shane fuck me…I mean for the sake of team and everything…if I must…I’m not actually eager or anything…like I haven’t thought about this at all…ever!” Ilya starts yelling at the team, telling them that everything is fine, but they yell back and now everyone is arguing. Meanwhile, Shane is very amused by the fact that the team thinks he’s the top.
i really appreciate this shot of the servant witnessing this exchange between gabriella and lestat and being shown to be visibly uncomfortable. lestat might claim that vampirism overrides familial bonds (something which i’m sure will be contested just alone based on the fact that in the current timeline they feel a need to hide their relationship) but this shows that even before they became vampires their relationship crossed boundaries and wasn’t perceived as normal by anyone else who got a glimpse of it
Capitalism sucks. Unless it's Louis de Point du Lac doing it, then it's funny.

Kind of funny to me when humans are saddled with instincts which, historically over millions of years, offered a net-benefit to survival. And yet now in certain circumstances of modern day living just result in a doctor going, "yeah, so don't do that."
As hairless and warm-blooded creatures, we surely, I imagine, have been highly susceptible to parasites attached to our skin.
As creatures with dexterous opposable digits and fine-tuned motor skills, we surely, I imagine, have been able to fight back against this parasite blight by detecting the parasites on our skin and picking them entirely off.
And yet. When there is a highly unauthorized blemish. On skin. You """"shouldn't"""" """"pick at it"""" because that's """not the way to deal with acne""". Which is advice from someone who just sounds like they're jealous because their ancestors weren't nearly as skilled at skin parasite eradication.
louis and lestat relationship being the point of reference for literally everything else going on in this universe........
