Ok backstory time Lilith was pretty much raised to be a mercenary for the Ithavoll group by her father, who was an extremely dedicated follower, for lack of a better term. At first, She didn't necessarily hate or love what she did, she just did what's asked. Although she slowly starts to notice that something isn't right with the group, especially its leader.
Ithavoll is also where she met Jeanne. I imagine their relationship didn't start off that great due to meeting in less than ideal circumstances, probably like reluctant business partners. Over time they loosen up around each other and start hanging out willingly, cus let's be honest they're probably the only decent company they have.
