“Alright. Freeze then, Ryou-chan.” Well, so much for that ‘kindness’. Junko not-so-subtly rubbed it in his face by zipping her jacket up further and raising her scarf over the lower half of her face. “I won’t offer a second time.”

“Want my jacket? You look cold.”

      Ryo was no stranger to the spiritual monsters that roamed freely through the world, their presence unknown to others as they walked amongst them. While he’d lived in Germany, Ryo encountered only a handful, but once he’d arrived in Karakura– he was absolutely overwhelmed by what awaited him. This place was absolutely crawling with them.

      Speaking of the frightening creatures, Ryo spotted one crawling up the side of a building, its bone like head turning to face him eerily. Vibrant red eyes gleamed, a shrilling shriek ripping from its throat, though it didn’t have a change to attack. Before the beast could lunge, a gleaming burst of light shot right between its eyes; and not long after it began to decompose. Widened eyes turned to the direction of the blast, mouth agape.

      “…What… What are you doing?”

        he supposes he can’t expect an overly GRATEFUL reaction, for it is true that such appearances may shock anyone into silence, but instead, he is greeted with an almost accusatory question  -----  ryouta isn’t offended  ( he’s experienced far worse reactions )  but it would have been nice to not receive such an impolite response. he fumbles over his words for a moment, lowering his bow && tilting his head at the boy.

       he’s not sure why there’s so many  -----  he could have sworn the shinigami had taken care of most of the souls in karakura  (  or perhaps it was more or less his WISH  ;  his job was infinitely easier when the hollow population was low  ).  he has little problem taking care of them, firing arrows directly into their skulls && watching with satisfaction as they disintegrate  ...   it’s only when he detects another, less familiar reiatsu that he’s distracted. of all times for something he doesn’t recognize to appear, this has to be the most INCONVENIENT.

       he hopes his terrible sense of direction && lack of familiarity with the place don’t make him stand out TOO much  -----  he thinks he might have a heart attack if one more person ask him if he’s okay  (  he’s denied their concerns. it’s not that he’s perfectly COMFORTABLE, but he’s definitely been in less desirable conditions  ).  it’s the first time he’s ever been in a bar, && the noise && strong smells are so blindingly new that he quite literally doesn’t see the man in front of him until he’s bumped right into his back. why is everyone so tall ?

      ❛   ah, sorry. i just put another batch of tarts in the oven, so they should be ready shortly if you’d want to wait.   ❜      he has terrible luck, it seems, with stock running out just when a customer who wants it decides to walk in  (  oh well, they only take about ten minutes to bake, anyway  ).
