Authored by Mr. Niteen Shah, Founder & Managing Director of Total Sports & Fitness, this book will provide context & business insights from the Indian sports retail & sports goods sector, helping to shape young sports business professionals.

SportsBizEdu 3.0 brought together an inspiring range of research, perspectives and ideas, each offering a fresh lens on where the Indian sports ecosystem could go next.

Our presenters brought their best to the table, while our esteemed jury went beyond listening, questioning, analysing and offering insights that could stay with them long after the conference ended.

The IISM team made it all come together, creating a space where ideas could be presented, challenged and, most importantly, taken forward.

Because research doesn’t end when the presentation does. Sometimes, that’s where the real conversation begins.

The Third edition of SportsBizEdu was held on 22nd August as an International Research Conference, centred around the theme “Sports for Viksit Bharat.”

The conference was a huge success, sparking conversations across a diverse range of topics: from Marketing, CSR, Exercise Science and Fan Engagement to Psychology, Event Management and more💫

A hands-on learning experience in managing end-to-end operations of a marathon event. 📋

From handling the registrations to checking inventory, distributing race kits and goodie bags, they not only smoothly managed the event but also understood the intricate planning & organization of such an event.

First events are always special — and that enthusiasm was evident among our new students who worked at the 2026 Mumbai Ultra Marathon - The 12 Hour Run! 🏃‍♂️

On the occasion of our 80th Independence Day, IISM students were grinding it out to smoothly handle the Mumbai Ultra Marathon in various capacities. 🇮🇳

From baggage management, bib distribution, food & hospitality to managing the crowd and handling runner registrations, it was a thorough on-ground expedition in Event Operations for these youngsters.

Anandita Tamra, a Master of Sports Management student at IISM, secured two podium finishes at the Yonex-Sunrise Rajasthan State Ranking Badminton Tournament 2026: 🏆

What does it really take to work behind the scenes in motorsport? 🏎️💨

IISM students got a glimpse into that world during an insightful session with Ishaan Bhataiya, a Motorsports & Action Sports Photographer, also associated with Mumbai Falcons.

From the importance of theory in building strong foundations to the realities of working around motorsport, Ishaan gave students plenty to think about, and plenty to ask.💡

The conversation continued beyond the session, with students getting to interact with him and learn more about his experience. 🤝

Because the best learning doesn’t always happen inside a classroom. Sometimes, it happens when you get to speak to someone who’s already living it.

Anoushka Patil - Smashing her way to glory! 🏓

Heartiest congratulations to our FYBSM student Anoushka Patil as she secured victory in the Under-19 category at the District Table Tennis Ranking Tournament, while also winning a Bronze medal in the Women's category.

We are thrilled to see young sportspersons like her chase medals & trophies while securing their academic foundation in sports at IISM Mumbai.

It started with curiosity.

A fourth-grade Siddhantika Chavan stepped into the world of horse riding, and never looked back. 🏇🏼

The journey brought new academies, different coaches, unfamiliar horses, and plenty of challenges. 📈🚧

Because in equestrian sport, every ride is a partnership. You don't just understand the sport. You have to understand the horse. 🐴❤️

And that's where Siddhantika shines. She has a special connection with the horses others often struggle to work with.

That bond has taken her to National and Military-level competitions, and it's only the beginning.

To stay close to the world she loves, she chose to pursue a Bachelor of Sports Management at IISM, learning the business of sport while continuing to live it every day.

Injury prevention and performance analysis are becoming increasingly important in modern sport.

As highlighted by Yuvraj Salvi, Strength & Conditioning Coach, in an exclusive episode of Buzz Behind the Sports, he breaks down the Indian sports science ecosystem in real time.

From role clarity to internships and varied experiences, Yuvraj explores what sports science looks like in India today, and where it needs to go next.

"Institutes like IISM are not just important, they are the fulcrum of the ecosystem."

Mr. Rahul Bose hit the nail on the head, underscoring the increasing need of sports professionals in India's sports industry.

Having seen the growth of rugby's ecosystem in the country as Rugby India's President, he understands how handling nutrition, psychology, ground infrastructure & training facilities are all part of what we call 'Sports Management'.

So, to work in this industry, to uplift it to global standards, you need to understand the pulse of India's grassroots sporting landscape. You've got to identify their needs for support from an administrative, scientific & psychological perspective.

The future of Indian sport is brighter than ever, but it won't be shaped by talent alone!

It will be shaped by stronger grassroots infrastructure, the right opportunities, and a culture that allows talent to flourish. Drawing from years of watching Indian cricket evolve, Parthiv Patel shared why he's optimistic about the future of Indian sport. 🇮🇳

From talent emerging out of every corner of the country to growing investment in grassroots development, he believes the foundation for India's next sporting era is already being built. 🛣️

His message was clear: great athletes need a great ecosystem. And building that ecosystem is a responsibility shared by everyone in sport.

"It's become quite cliche, but you gotta have the 'Belief' to succeed in anything in you do!", highlighted Mr. Parthiv Patel, former Indian cricketer as Chief Guest at IISM's Orientation for the Class of 2026! 🏏

Drawing on his years of on-field experience as a player, talent scout & coach, he inspired our incoming batches with plenty of gritty anecdotes.

There was so much for our new students to learn from his life story: rising from his humble family background to thriving in Team India's competitive squad in the 2000s. 🇮🇳

Be it his Ranji Trophy-winning campaigns with Gujarat or the must-win game in the 2013 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he led the way to a 110-run victory - it was a fabulous blast from the past. 💥
