What does it really take to work behind the scenes in motorsport? 🏎️💨

IISM students got a glimpse into that world during an insightful session with Ishaan Bhataiya, a Motorsports & Action Sports Photographer, also associated with Mumbai Falcons.

From the importance of theory in building strong foundations to the realities of working around motorsport, Ishaan gave students plenty to think about, and plenty to ask.💡

The conversation continued beyond the session, with students getting to interact with him and learn more about his experience. 🤝

Because the best learning doesn’t always happen inside a classroom. Sometimes, it happens when you get to speak to someone who’s already living it.

Anoushka Patil - Smashing her way to glory! 🏓

Heartiest congratulations to our FYBSM student Anoushka Patil as she secured victory in the Under-19 category at the District Table Tennis Ranking Tournament, while also winning a Bronze medal in the Women's category.

We are thrilled to see young sportspersons like her chase medals & trophies while securing their academic foundation in sports at IISM Mumbai.

It started with curiosity.

A fourth-grade Siddhantika Chavan stepped into the world of horse riding, and never looked back. 🏇🏼

The journey brought new academies, different coaches, unfamiliar horses, and plenty of challenges. 📈🚧

Because in equestrian sport, every ride is a partnership. You don't just understand the sport. You have to understand the horse. 🐴❤️

And that's where Siddhantika shines. She has a special connection with the horses others often struggle to work with.

That bond has taken her to National and Military-level competitions, and it's only the beginning.

To stay close to the world she loves, she chose to pursue a Bachelor of Sports Management at IISM, learning the business of sport while continuing to live it every day.

Injury prevention and performance analysis are becoming increasingly important in modern sport.

As highlighted by Yuvraj Salvi, Strength & Conditioning Coach, in an exclusive episode of Buzz Behind the Sports, he breaks down the Indian sports science ecosystem in real time.

From role clarity to internships and varied experiences, Yuvraj explores what sports science looks like in India today, and where it needs to go next.

"Institutes like IISM are not just important, they are the fulcrum of the ecosystem."

Mr. Rahul Bose hit the nail on the head, underscoring the increasing need of sports professionals in India's sports industry.

Having seen the growth of rugby's ecosystem in the country as Rugby India's President, he understands how handling nutrition, psychology, ground infrastructure & training facilities are all part of what we call 'Sports Management'.

So, to work in this industry, to uplift it to global standards, you need to understand the pulse of India's grassroots sporting landscape. You've got to identify their needs for support from an administrative, scientific & psychological perspective.

The future of Indian sport is brighter than ever, but it won't be shaped by talent alone!

It will be shaped by stronger grassroots infrastructure, the right opportunities, and a culture that allows talent to flourish. Drawing from years of watching Indian cricket evolve, Parthiv Patel shared why he's optimistic about the future of Indian sport. 🇮🇳

From talent emerging out of every corner of the country to growing investment in grassroots development, he believes the foundation for India's next sporting era is already being built. 🛣️

His message was clear: great athletes need a great ecosystem. And building that ecosystem is a responsibility shared by everyone in sport.

"It's become quite cliche, but you gotta have the 'Belief' to succeed in anything in you do!", highlighted Mr. Parthiv Patel, former Indian cricketer as Chief Guest at IISM's Orientation for the Class of 2026! 🏏

Drawing on his years of on-field experience as a player, talent scout & coach, he inspired our incoming batches with plenty of gritty anecdotes.

There was so much for our new students to learn from his life story: rising from his humble family background to thriving in Team India's competitive squad in the 2000s. 🇮🇳

Be it his Ranji Trophy-winning campaigns with Gujarat or the must-win game in the 2013 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy where he led the way to a 110-run victory - it was a fabulous blast from the past. 💥

"The heart of everything we do has to be love. If what you do is with love, then no matter how big or small you were before, you will only get bigger."

That was the message Mr. Rahul Bose, President of Rugby India, left the IISM Class of 2026 with as the Chief Guest at our Orientation.

While the world knows him for his work on screen, it was his journey in sport that took centre stage.

Drawing from his experiences on and off the field, he shared four values every aspiring sports professional should live by:

Truth, Accountability, Transparency, and Ethics.

One line from his speech is sure to stay with everyone: "Do you want to spend your whole life bumping the carpet or sleep peacefully?" To decode it, you had to be there. 🎟️🙌

His message to our students was simple: "Whether you build your career in sports management or sports science, strive to make a difference in someone's life."

And perhaps the biggest takeaway of all: "Do what you love or find love in what you do." ❤️

IISM Orientation 2026: The Beginning of a New Story. 🎓✨

Every great journey starts somewhere, and this one began with excitement, curiosity, and a room full of future sports professionals.

We welcomed the Sports Management and Sports Science cohort of 2026 to the IISM family.

From meeting new friends and finding answers to long-held questions to imagining everything that's ahead, the day was filled with energy and anticipation. ⚡🌟

We were honoured to have Mr. Rahul Bose, President of Rugby India, and Mr. Parthiv Patel, former Indian cricketer, inspire our students with their experiences and words of wisdom.

Joining them were IISM's Founder-Director, Mr. Nilesh Kulkarni, Co-Founder & Managing Director, Ms. Rasika Kulkarni, Associate Dean Mr. Amitava Pal, and COO Mr. Amit Gupte making the occasion even more memorable.

When Janmesh Kokate joined IISM's Bachelor of Sports Management program 🎓, he dreamed of working with his favourite teams and athletes.Today, he's doing exactly that.

From attending industry masterclasses and learning from some of the biggest names in sports, to gaining hands-on experience at the Champions Trophy, IPL, the GOAT India Tour, and the Tata Mumbai Marathon, Janmesh has made the most of every opportunity that came his way. 🙌

His journey has also taken him behind the scenes with ESPN, SFA, Star Sports' broadcast team, and today, he's part of the team managing RCB's official fan page. 😍

That's what an IISM journey looks like for Niti Ladha, a Bachelor of Sports Management student at IISM. 🎓

"IISM is a very friendly place, every faculty knows every child and it's just a friendly environment here at the campus," she says. 🤝
