The Cello Sonata in G minor, Op. 65, was written by FrĂŠdĂŠric Chopin in 1846. It is one of only nine works of Chopin published during his lifetime that were written for instruments other than piano (although the piano still appears in every work he wrote). Chopin composed four sonatas, the others being piano sonatas. The cello sonata was the last of Chopinâs works to be published in his lifetime.
Opening bars of the sonata.
The sonata was written for and dedicated to Auguste Franchomme. The sonata is remarkable for the concentration of its material: much of the music of the first movement grows out of the celloâs opening statement, and certain theme-shapes appear in all its movements. The last three movements were first publicly performed by Franchomme and Chopin at the composerâs last public concert, at the Salle Pleyel on 16 February 1848.
Performers: Yo-Yo Ma and Emanuel Ax.
String Theory Explained â What is The True Nature of Reality?
This is probably the cutest video I watched in weeks. You wonât get the answer to the question, but will get a nice explanation of why String Theory is useful in the way to decipher the deepest secrets of nature.

Now that itâs no longer possible to experience OTAM as a âdose a dayâ math fix, I figured Iâd try to get around to making a somewhat more accessible organizational scheme. This post is obviously something of a hack, but it was good enough for printed books for hundreds of years it can be good enough for little old OTAM. Iâve split post this into two parts:Â
First comes a list of significant tags. This means reasonably small collections of posts but contain a high density of the most interesting posts. Within a tag, except for theÂ
And second, underneath a readmore, comes a list of posts (or drafted posts) which are significant in their own right but cannot be easily found from the tags. [The eight posts in this list marked with stars and italics are, in my opinion, the absolute highlights of this blog.]

My daughter is 8 now, but when she was 2, I taught her to say behold instead of look. Weâd be at the store or something and sheâd go to point out whatever damn thing she saw, âDaddy, behold!â

Does anyone know any good stationary stores in sandiego ? My friend is new there , need some stuff
I love her ...
So much ...
More than my own life ... and that scares me ...
Not that love thats a teenage girl ... a love that you see her flaws you saw her past ... you walked the past w her ... but she is still perfect ... the perfect imperfection ...
And i cant speak up ... to say i love you ...
Cause i'm scared i'll mess up again...
That long distance will tear us apart ...
I'm terrified ...
And yet when she talked bout some guy today my heart was trembling so bad ... i couldnt stop the tears ... even though she didnt want him ... i was terrified ...
That someone would take her away while we're in distace !
Fuck ...

Sometimes he struggled to fit in. He couldnât switch off, couldnât relax. He just struggled with people, I think. He was rude, yeah. Arrogant. Apparently lacking in anything resembling empathy. But Iâd forgotten just how funny he could be. He was so charming. SoâŚhuman. Itâs bizarre because most people would say he was the most inhuman person theyâd ever met. But he wasnât. He was everything a good person should be. Heâd just often say what he was thinking rather than lying to protect our feelings. Maybe we should all be more like that?
Video Game Recreations. by Ronnie Araya.
My sister sent me a short response to a prompt she was given to write about privilege and itâs beautiful and important so I wanted to share it with you all:Â
âIt wasnât until my older sister admitted to me that she had always felt a smudge of jealousy of my role in our family that I realized I was privilegedâŚprivileged compared to my very own sister. And by ârole in my familyâ I mean that my sister perceived me to be the perfect traditional daughter who would someday be married to a man and have biological children and make my parents happy grandparents.Â
You see, my older sister is gay, or âlesbianâ, to use proper terminology. And while my parentâs completely accept her for who she is and love her and I just the same, I understand that this âtraditionalâ path will always be much easier than hers. That isnât her fault and it isnât mine â itâs just the privilege I was born into. In todayâs society being gay or lesbian is becoming less of a controversial issue, but people who identify with these sexual orientations still face everyday challenges in regards to embracing the person they love â something I never had to face in my life. Because I am straight, I have the privilege of walking down the street, holding my loverâs hand without receiving long stares or multiple double-takes. I have the privilege of comfortably telling people about my boyfriend when they ask me if I am dating anyone, instead of having to âcome outâ over and over again. I have the privilege of being friends with multiple girls, and those girls never assuming me being nice or being a good friend is me trying to come onto them. I have the privilege of posting a picture of myself kissing my significant other without being over-sexualized by men. I have the privilege of never having to fight to have the right to marry the person I love. I have so many privileges associated with being straight, that itâs easy to overlook how much courage it takes to embrace identifying as anything different. But, because I have recognized my privilege, it has only made me admire my sister even more for her strength. For her ability to overcome those everyday challenges and full-heatedly be proud of the person - of the lesbian - that she is. She has truly inspired me to embrace and love everything that I am - and everything that I am not.âÂ
French Movies
Hey guys! Movies helped me a lot to improve my French. I love French movies and French cinema and now I wanna share a few of my favorite movies and must-sees with you! I hope theyâll help you!

Order of events in BBCâs Sherlock
If you want to see the whole flowchart in one image, download it here.
Creating this flowchart has required me choose what to include and what to leave out. If you think that I have missed something, Iâd be happy to hear from you, but please read the comments first, in case I had excluded that information for a Âreason.
This project has been made so much easier thanks to the Sherlock timeline at bakerstreet.wikia.com and the wonderful transcripts by @callie-ariane. Go look them up at arianedevere.livejournal.com!
Thank you to my wonderful proof reader @wetislandinthenorthatlantic!
I have completely lost track of who is discussing what in the aftermath of s4, but Iâll tag a few people under the cut anyway, hoping that you are interested. Let me know if you donât want to be tagged in the future!

Look right above the tentacle arm. The second man at the buffet, what the hell is he doing? Heâs either throwing up or eating an octopus.
I think his face is just tentacles.

Scariest detail: this image was ripped from the creatorâs site and vandalized (edited to remove the watermark), then reuploaded for viral fame without so much as a mention of the artistâs name. SOURCE: http://jeffleejohnson.deviantart.com/art/Blue-Plate-Special-661961724 That said, the earlier observation about milk being $15 is off - artist confirms this is based on a 1920âs diner, so the price would be in cents. (http://comments.deviantart.com/1/661961724/4375070065) The table under the journal is lacquered with ants. The person holding the skull-creamed coffee paints the underside of their nails. Either that or their natural nails grow red. The journalâs writing, intentionally made hard to read and partially obscured, is somewhat of a cheat to all the things amiss in the scene. (http://comments.deviantart.com/1/661961724/4372574544) I can make out: â⌠and eyeball ⌠have to think he is less strange than the horrifying creature that seems to have inhabited the cabinet behind him ⌠all tentacles and teeth ⌠(obscured by cup) ⌠Where in the world can be found such nightmares?!â
