Q: Who do you not have scenes with that you wish you did

Dexter Fletcher: I had scenes with lots of people. We all came into contact. But there was a really special relationship between Damian Lewis and Ron Livingston. There was something very special, and dare I use the word magical, about that relationship that they created in the middle of all the kind of craziness that was going on with the rest of us. And that was something personally that I really admired, the kind of easy, really important friendship that those two created in their cocoon of leadership, because that’s a very lonely place to be. That’s what “Band of Brothers” really beautifully captures is the kind of isolation, the loneliness of leadership that Winters obviously experienced at the same time caring and being a part of the company, also being very alone.

But I always thought that Ron really was a beautiful counterpoint dramatically to what Damian was doing. And I think for all of us, when we watched it, it was almost untouchable in a way. We had our camaraderie and busting each other’s balls and all that sort of stuff, but those two just really stood out for me, and especially when you watch back the series as well, there is something really sort of special and important about that. 

Shane Taylor: Yeah, I echo that. I think Ron as Nixon, as sharp of mind as he is in looks, he just was a treasure, one of the funniest guys. I wish I could’ve had more time. I wish I could’ve had more time with everybody, even the ones I did have time with. But Ron, I didn’t really have much, apart from in boot camp. He would’ve been the one.

Robin Laing: I think some of Ron Livingston’s best moments in the show are when he doesn’t have any lines.  I’m not trying to be a smart-ass. I’m not trying to be smart. His little looks and facial expressions are devastating at times. Sometimes just an eyebrow or a shake of the head. His timing is immaculate, and his choices are flawless.

When Gene moves to continue mopping up the blood, Rader flinches like he’s going to get hurt again, but Gene just shushes him like a baby and says, “How you feeling now, Rader? You still with me?” with this soft voice that Babe intimately remembers— low, serious, warm. Abruptly he feels like maybe he knows what Gene gets out of picking anonymous soldiers to fuck all careful and nice, using his hands to make a man feel good for once. Babe’s not special. He just got lucky.

Way of Nature by @steeseman (part 2 of Before During After)

Part one (Something Holy) is so fun and hot, and part two is such a great spin on episode 6. This series has perhaps my favorite characterization and voice for both of them! Eugene is a little cranky and kinda odd and clearly—deeply—caring, and Babe is so smitten and sincere and snarky! Babe’s dialogue and inner voice in particular are so well done.

picture me, finally getting started on part 3 of this series again, searching for baberoe gifs for inspiration..... AND I COME ACROSS THIS BEAUTIFUL SET THAT MAKES ME STOP AND GO, "...wait did babe say that in the show? i remember that line but also don't remember?" and it was a line i had once written! i went so crazy!
