Thinking of selling. Dont know why.
Hi guys. I'm excited to report that my very own 1999 Nissan R34 Skyline GT-R is currently featured on BaT Auctions! Check it out and please help me spread the word anywhere you think it could attract buyers!

Hi mate, nice motor. Where did you source the under bonnet insulation from and how much please? Mine is in a similar poor condition and I want to replace
Thanks, I got it from a Nissan dealer in Norway. Was about 150$

Winter break
A mild snowless day gave me the opportunity to take some pictures of the car as it sits now. Exterior is finished.

Wheel overhaul + etc
So, the oem wheels had a lot of curb rash. I had a good opportunity to buy a nice set of Volk TE37, but ended up sticking with the original forged wheels.
Separated from the wheels:
The worst one:
After repair, before filler:
The other rims were more like this:
Sanding down the inside:
Filler:
Mixing of the OEM colour JP2 Outback gold:
After paint the new tires got installed, Westlake Sport RS in 265/35 -18″ These are dot approved semi slicks, have never tried them before, but for the price, they should be very bad not to be worth a try. Will be fun to test them out.
I also sanded down the wing blade, the spacers, the front strut bar and some bolts, and did them at the same time.
Pics of results are coming sometime soon.
Preparing for winter
The car just got a detailing at a dealer. The guy did it for free, and I really appreciate his enthusiasm. The car looked really good after the job, but i had trouble with washing it. The dirt and grime did not let go of the paint. It actually sticked more than before. I had to hand wash it every time, that is not healthy for the paint. Im not sure why it was like this, maybe it was to cold/hot while applying the “silver seal”, or something else failed. In any case I decided to redo the finishing wax myself, with the fantastic Svisswax products I have had so much great experiences with in the past.
I also decided to remove some of the exterior trim to remove the old hard grime in the edges. It seams the car has been stored outside for some years, because this dirt was an incredible pain to get of. It must have been there for a long long time. It took me a couple of hours with different rinse products and a polishing machine to remove. But feels great to finally get it of. Some examples below.
Hole under side markers
Door handle
Window washers
After some polishing the car was ready to be treated with Swissvax Cleaner fluid
And after that the first coat of Swissvax Shield wax
This wax is supposed to left for 3 hours, preferably in the sun. With no sunlight available I did the next best thing. Infrared light.
I used the hours waiting for the next layer to also do the inside of the doors, rear fenders, trunk, and trunklid. I also installed some small dampening material plates in the doors, and added some corrosion preventative. These cars dont have any from factory, does not hurt.
The next layer of wax got another 3 hours of hardening, and the car looks super shiny! Ill find some time to take something other than iPhone photos of the results:)
Just picked the car up from a spa treatment. It has beed rubbed down, 2 step polish, and finished with a two layers of paint sealant. The pictures are not the best, but it looks very nice:)
I accidentally damaged the old worn out and saggy hood insulator while washing the engine bay some time ago. Not the most important piece, but small things matter:)
So, a new one finally arrived.
The difference in how worn out the old one was, and how fresh the new one is really dont show in pictures.
Fitted on the car.
I have been wanting a new front emblem for a while, but the price of these has scared me of. But i gave up, Its the front emblem, it NEED to be mint:)
Met some other JDM heros this weekend:)

New pictures of the Nismo seat covers. Really love them, best investment in a long time!
And finally, I got the new mfd screen installed. Really helped the interior looking fresh.
Did an oil change, used Gulf 5w 50 Racing, and Nismo oil filter. The Nissan special tool really makes the job so much easier. Km: 107.354
Nismo interior pt2 The install was overall very easy, except for the part around these hole covers. They struggled to hold with the extra layer of leather. I ended up making a weird contraption to hold the two pieces together while getting the rest in place.
I´ll take better photos later, these make the covers look way worse than in person. They are shot right after install, and the seat covers seams to sit better after some use:) They sit very nice and tight. Looks just as it came like this from factory. More pics to come.
Nismo Interior update. After a lot of convincing myself I decided to give the interior a solid upgrade. The gray cloth seats and worn out gearknob/gaiter/mats dont look as fresh as the rest. The covers are Nismo, and the others are OEM, so I'm excusing this as an oem upgrade:) The gear knob was the worst to get a hold of. These lovely oem knobs are really expensive, no wonder most people get nismo gearknobs. With the new oem one in my hands, i dont regret it. Its really nice!!
I also got the Nismo floor mats to my old R32, so they are just as nice as expected.
Took some closeups of the covers, the quality is just supreme. If someone is thinking of these but hesitating, dont. Lastly I took a coupe of photos of the OEM seats before covering them up. They are in really nice condition, but it gives me peace of mind that I won't wear them out as I'm driving the car almost every day.
Some minor things also got done this weekend. Since the bumper is of i refurbished the metal brackets in the bumper. Actually the construction of the front is one of the most sturdy I've seen in cars from this era. No wonder it is a heavy car.
I also switched the coin door in the interior. It was broken, and the last owner made four holes in it to fasten it with zip-ties. sigh...
I got a new screen for the mfd. It is a easy install, but unfortunately the new screen is defect. It just shows a white screen. After trying out different stuff it seems it just the screen that has something wrong with it. Ended up putting it all back together with the old crappy one until i get a new one. I did find that the car actually have the rare clarion TV loom, i have some plans for that later.
Lastly i changed out the Air filters for the AC. The air smells better now:)

The Left front splitter, lip and bumper had some damage. These past are stupid expensive, so spending a couple of hours fixing them is well worth it. The lip will be painted white, to match the Nismo side skirts and Nismo rear lips.
Finished result pictures will come later.
Have been spending some time on the car the last week. A couple of updates are on their way. First of I polished the headlights and front Nismo indicator lights. For this I use Autoglym Fastcut, Autoglym Machine polish and Autoglym Ultra fine.
