Joe Perry wrote a book, Steven Tyler was on American Idol, the band made a tour movie and now they've announced a summer tour celebrating their 45 years together (so far!).  They say they are doing all of the hits, will we see this one? 

The first trailer for the Brian Wilson biopic Love & Mercy shows the Beach Boys singer-songwriter struggling to craft "the greatest album ever made" and clashing with his bandmates. Watch here:

HEADLINE TOUR DATES

   KONGOS will embark on a North American headline tour this January.

Following up highly successful stints on the road in the U.S. with Kings of Leon, Young The Giant and Alice In Chains and in Europe with OneRepublic, this is the platinum-selling quartet’s very first countrywide headline run of the United States.  The Lunatic Tour begins on January 29 at Gas Monkey in Dallas, TX and goes through March 13 at The Wiltern in Los Angeles, CA. Support comes from indie rock outfits Sir Sly and Colony House on most dates.  Venue presales go live November 4, VIP Packages that include a backstage acoustic performance, meet n greet with the band, photo op with the band and more go on sale November 5 and the general on-sale is November 7. 2015 also sees KONGOS infiltrate radio with their next single, “I Want To Know.” Coming on the heels of their current alternative hit “I’m Only Joking,” it’s yet another standout from the South African-born and Arizona-based band’s critically acclaimed full-length debut, Lunatic [Epic Records].

The best news I heard from the Holidays was that Christy Taylor from 91X San Diego fame is handling music and digital at KTWN which just flipped to Alternative this week in Minneapolis.  If there was a market that was overdue for a Modern Rock station I would say Minneapolis would be on top of that list.
