the one thought i have about supergirl that nobody seems to have said yet is that i think that cover of “the middle” for the combat scene is from ruthye’s perspective. and even the girls in the ship. it didnt really click until we got that shot of kara silhouetted against the sun but its such a warm, gentle song, it sounds like being protected. “everything will be just fine”. and that’s what the scene feels like - that’s what ruthye and those girls GET to feel, because supergirl is there. because she is there to save them, to take the sword and tell them walk away, i’ve got this, they get to keep being little girls.
