The most relatable thing about the Supergirl movie was the overall state of Kara’s ship. My dad literally turned to me like five minutes into the movie and was like “lol that could be your room” thanks dad (he was correct but still)

I saw someone complain that Lobo didn’t play a big enough role in Supergirl (2026). But I think that’s the point of his character in the movie. Yes, he’s there gratuitously, but that’s the point. He’s playing the role so many female characters have had to play in “male-centric” action/superhero movies. Female characters have long been relegated to being side characters that have no real effect on the plot. Sure, he helps out in some scenes, but he is still there for the audience to god “omg Lobo!”
I can also get behind him representing the devil on Ruby’s shoulder by encouraging her to kill Krem btw.
Being transmasculine is odd cus on one end of the spectrum everyone is telling you that you're privileged and evil and basically just a cis man (even if you're nonpassing), and on the other end you're watching your brothers being raped and murdered and buried under their dead names while being falsely listed as a femicide. (this faulty documention will be wielded as proof of your privilege)

Random thought but that one moment in Supergirl when Clark is like "oh also, your powers are gonna start kicking in right about... Now" and then it cuts to Kara in her apartment with the city noises blaring around, and then she cuts it out with music, I can't be the only one who thought that subtle little inclusion implied culture shock right? Kara grew up on the Argo, then lost everything while she was a teenager and had to come to Earth. The immigrant parallels are obvious to anybody with a pair of eyes but that inclusion of the cacophony of Earth, a planet she's an alien on, so much more of an alien then Clark, like did anyone else see that as a way to communicate culture shock to the audience?
The Master always rags on the Doctor for hanging out with human beings all the time, but the Master also has a whole universe full of species to fiddle with, and yet! You're also at the devil's sacrament here, meddling with the humans and putting them into situations like a five year old dangling Barbies over a fake volcano. Pot, meet fucking kettle.
it really is annoying as hell how someone will talk about how poor people can't avoid ethically dubious products because of how being poor works and then someone with a two story house in the suburbs will take that to mean they can order harry potter books through a drone delivery from amazon and if you criticize that you're a bigot

Thinking about the time i read a supergirl review and they said there were "problematic characters" so I asked what was problematic ajd they said they didn't like Kara because she was "too abrasive and demeaning". No I think you're just a little bitch. Maybe the issue isnt that she's abrasive its that you cant stand female heroes not being sweet and likeable and perfect. If you're main issue with her is that she's rude I automatically disregard your critiques.
Also thats not problematic. A character being abrasive is not problematic.
