i want to talk about how there's this theme with louis' songs that has emerged, and that in a way has always been a lingering metaphorical element in his songs from 1d era too. it's how he talks about positioning himself in the world. it's how he sees himself as a part of this world, yet as a separate entity altogether. it's this juxtaposition between the world vs louis and louis and/with the world. it is of course introspective and makes you realise that louis is well aware that his actions will cause reactions/repercussions in the world, and not just in his life, and that makes him incredibly socially aware and self aware too. a few examples off the top of my head would be - "everything's changed outside, but i feel the same inside" // "i think i'm gonna win this time, i roll and i roll till i change my luck" // "when somebody told me i would change, i was afraid i don't know why, cause so does the world outside, i realised" - and this comes from a place of being reflective of your actions and knowing that you do affect people, including yourself and we're all but dominoes falling off one another in the grand scheme. it comes from a place of being in tune with your own feelings and being an empath too. it's not him saying it's just me against the entire world and just being negative about it. even when he's positioning himself against all the shortcomings, he's still hopeful about it and that just makes him so, so strong and by writing about it and putting it out into the world, he's feeding us with that hope too, he's feeding us with that little, but still, strong and firm and determined and adamant faith in the future
