Being into fairytales is so weird because in my head they unironically have huge intellectual value as pieces of cultural heritage that reflect the social and cultural values of their respective countries and time periods, as well as being such beautifully simple and universal stories that they can be endlessly reimagined in incredibly impactful ways and then you walk into a bookstore and ask for fairytale related books and they shrug at you and ask if you've tried the children's section and then you're abruptly reminded that the vast majority of people do not in fact share that perception lmao
