i find it so interesting that when bowman makes a good move (re-signing dicky. re-signing murph. end of list) it's all him. no "well, leadership really wanted them back", nothing like that. but when he makes a bad decision (trading stu. keeping pickard up instead of giving ingram a few nhl games as a test. babcock. the list goes on) he immediately hides behind "leadership". and everyone eats it the fuck up bc "beloved star players are being stupid assholes" is a much jucier story than "stupid asshole gm that everyone hates continues to be stupid and an asshole; everyone still hates him."

and i don't even think he's lying, necessarily. but for someone who made a big deal about the work he did to figure out where he went wrong in chicago, and to not let it happen again... sure sounds like more of the same.
